  1. All these negative comments, all from people who know nothing about this guy at all..

He is charged with an offence, that's a long way from being convicted of it. He's innocent until found guilty remember.

You don't usually get to be Pres of a motorcycle club without being an exceptional man.

Of course, this man and other biker gangs live by a code of values that is alien to 99% of Thai Visa posters.

Best advice, if you don't know what you are talking about or have nothing constructive to add... just keep quiet.

An Offence? I think there is 2 doz. I understand the presumtion of innocence thing, but hell, I would put my house on it. Obviously he thought so too, so went for a vacation.

    "Code of Values"

    "Exceptional man"

If my little 5 year old boy grows up with this guy as an example I will neck myself

I could stop laughing as I read your post.

  2. And if they can't or won't sell it at 500k ? The point bring most banks don't the hassle of an asset they can't off load, the house is only worth 3 million if some is prepared to pay 3 million for it, if someone is not prepared to pay anything for it its worth nothing

Your 17% is worth nothing if the property can't be sold

Go and take a look at what's on the repo market from Thai banks that can't be sold and you will understand what I am getting at

And references to the US mortgage scams are not a good example to draw on considering what happened in the US a few years ago

Its a 3,000,000 bt house, not going to be hard to get 500,000 bt in ten minutes. I have seen the books from a bank here. They lend 95%, the buyer in some cases has never made one payment, and the property is worth less than they lent. That is why the banks are holding them, they cannot get close to the value plus the lost interest and penalty interest charges.

There view is keep it so they do not have to show a loss.

So when did you leave school ?

  3. They obviously happen as reported but normally to tourists not my friends that live here. People that live here learn to avoid certain places, like walking in that park on the hill behind Bali Hai late at night, and avoid letting your feelings out when you are being ripped off.

Most problems that I would call serious are friends dying after not getting looked after at our main hospital, and being extorted by the BIB.

  4. To all please see the text.

No travel insurance, he has been here 15 years, he is not a tourist

Going to college/university here is expensive, assuming here that his family have some money, father works in BKK ??

The whole story how he was left in the soi at Green Mango and nearly attacked again is a horrible story. Green Mango should pay his bills.

I remember 10+ years ago watching some guy off his face climbing high up the structure inside the club, always a crazy and dangerous place.

Nothing will ever happen here, the money has already been paid and more will be paid. Like the general, they all have boxes of money in the garden.

  5. I think he means foreigners causing trouble here. The answer far too often. And i agree i can fully understand why the Thais have come to dislike us. Number one, two and three reasons. Drunk, obnoxious and act like they can care less about the Thais and their customs. Maybe YOU forgot WE are guests here.

And foreigners wonder why some Thai dont like em... Seen this happen all to often..

Really? How many times have you seen this happen?

Yeh the Thais do not like it when we are more drunk than they are

  6. Baht Bus are absolutly not like a taxi, they work normally with a number and have a precise line or road;they stop when you ring the bell....easy no? the difficult thing for a foreigner is that you need to know where you go and where you want to stop, otherwise it is your problem....!there is no point at all to argue with the driver who work all day long for a few baths .....so if you dont have a clue dont take that kind of local cheap transportation.

i hope that fellow will learn from his mistake, i think he deserved that eye, to many foreigners dont speak the local language, dont know s.h.i.t from the country they visit and after all they want to be understand and treated specially.

come on man! give them a break....for sure some locals i in these hudge tourist places must be really fedup of these stupid farangs behavior too.

Whats going on here, all the seniors and Platinums are blaming the guy that got assaulted. Maybe he could not speak Thai, and BTW, you could do with an English lesson. A tourist can not speak Thai, he is a tourist. He is also unaware of the Baht bus system, still no reason to be assaulted.

  7. Here's what I think happened. The tourist who was drunk, gets in a Baht bus and tells the driver where he wants to go. That alone tells me he does not know what is going on. No need to tell the driver where your going, the bus drives around in a big circle and you hit the bell when you want to get out. They also stop and try to pickup more customers along the way as we all know. The idiot tourist sounds like he expected the Baht bus to work like a taxi and run him direct to his hotel for 10 Baht. When that did not happen he gets pissed off and starts raising hell with the driver. The tourist is in the wrong and if I had been the driver I would have knocked the krap out of this guy as well. Hope the tourist has learned a lesson. He is a guest here, act like it or go home. The locals in any place are only going to put up with so much BS off a bunch of tourist. I've been wandering around Pattaya for 30 years and never had any problem from a Baht bus driver, but then I am aways polite to them and don't expect them to put up with any verbal abuse I might send their way.

The last sentence, put up front, would have been sufficient and would eliminated the remaining absentee wisdom.

sounds like you were there, they are not supposed to stop and wait for customers, whatever happened the guy should not have been assaulted. Maybe thrown off the bus at most. Thai guys hate us, many at least, and love a chance to beat us up, and usually with good backup. And I have known some Irish guys here that are hard work in the bars when it gets late.

  8. As anyone knows that goes to the fights here, if the Thai is still on his feet, he wins.

They do not even seem embarassed about it. I have seen Thais get a beating and still win.

One thing though, the Thais are usually matched against someone 10-20 kilo heavier to make the fight even. Or the Thai will be 40 years old against a much younger falung.

  9. Interesting what will happen at the "tinted window Box, at Sigma on Jomtien. They are there most days collecting from tourists, Thais seem to go past with no helmets, Falungs get stopped even if they have one. Into the office and all sorted.

As some will know there is a laughable Russian tour office on the footpath, a bar that runs late with young clients, and a restaurant, all on the footpath next to the "Box", I assuming they are the landlord. They have not stopped me, I live right there, if they do I surely will take photos of their business empire.

Trouble with this new approach is that if you are actually guilty, paying them is easier than going to the station, that is why we pay.

  10. Why show how it is done?

What is the point of the photo of this guy?

    Sad incident.

Actually a good idea to show the bag and how people are carrying them, my 5 year old has one of these sleepers and they all put them around their neck.

All the schools should make a picture and ban this method, warning all the children. There is likely other freak ways they could hang themselves with the straps.

  11. Agree all around, as I said thet might be military, but by far more honest than the politicians.

While on the reclaiming subject. For a laugh, Jomtien Beach in front of Sigma Resort there is a little bar, with Heineken draft setup, that has built supports off the road over the beach to hold the bar. Can not imagine there is a lease. The whole bar is on the footpath and most customers are very young Thais.

Also a shed for Russian tours taking up the entire footpath opposite the bars. Russians sitting in there.

My guess the police box next to all of this is the landlord. They also have a thriving business stopping all the tourists, even if they have a helmet etc, they are invited into the tinited window office to discuss options.

I guess this is down the list compared to a 1000 acres.

  12. There is more to the story. If at all it was a teacher, there was more than a bad test result.

My kid goes to Aksorn on Teprasit and all the teachers seem very polite, and most classes seem to have two teachers, so would need to have two bad ones together.

I would go straight to the school for the answer. If they did do it, I would then go to the police.

Then maybe as you head off you will get a correction to the story.

  13. Nobody can know, but my guess from seeing him cut corners over the maked island earlier in the vid, would be to say the same, he was keeping up with the truck in front, and they were going fast. The car earlier pulled over to let him go.

No doubt it happened fast but a cple of seconds more time could have got him to at least change his angle from head on to a glance.

  14. Large numbers work illegally. They pay 1000 bt a head to the bag man for protection. Maybe because the bag man is scared to collect they feel in danger.

This will stop plenty of businesses or make them get legal.

I have Thai friends that have pub restaurants in BKK, they can not get Thai workers ( or maybe it is the salary they want ) most of the service staff are Cambodian or Vietnamese.

  15. Have to say there are multiple examples of bad behaviour by Thai and westerners that are a whole lot more serious than no shirt.

In general around the world, I think it is petty to spend time on this, while people are dying in BKK from "bad behaviour" by all colors of Thais.

These young guys maybe wear a suit everyday when back home, lucky to have customers, with or without shirts. All said I agree shirts should be worn at times, like at a restaurant at nite, no singlets etc, rude in any language.
