  1. Like New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Time, National Geographic, Money, Science, etc. Also general interest books. Is there any library with such near a BTS or MRT station? Thank you.
  2. Appointment last Friday booked online. I took Green then Pink Line to Government Complex station. I did not know pickup point or frequency of shuttle bus from station that others on this forum have mentioned so I took taxi (40b) from station to B Building. On return, motorcycle back to the station. It’s walkable on cool day, maybe 20 minutes. Some may not know that you should have your documents checked at counter #27 before heading to #35 for online appointments. There doesn’t appear to be any system for calling online bookers either orally or on the queue screen so you need to hang around in front of #35 at your booked time until you’re seen and invited in. Documents I presented and were accepted: Passport pages Bank statement and 12 months of transactions Hand-drawn map of address TM7 I was not asked for TM30 on any other documents. I don’t know if it was checked, but my last 90-day receipt was attached to my passport. You also are given a few other documents to sign, re various offenses and penalties. Entire process from getting bank statement downstairs to returned of extended passport was around 1 1/2 hours. By the way, anyone know re shuttle bus? I forgot to ask while there. Thanks again to everyone on this forum who has helped me with questions in past.
  3. A year ago I tried to add to my FD at Bkk Bank and was told at two branches that I could not because I did not have work permit or notarized statement from the embassy (I am on retirement extension).
  4. I found out Dr. Nithi is in US now. If anyone has other suggestion, I'd appreciate it.
  5. I did not find Dr. Nithi among the doctors listed in the cardiac centre website. Where did you see pls? Thank you.
  6. Has anyone seen a good arrhythmia specialist at Chula or other government hospital? I will need to have some tests done after ablation for atrial fibrillation, and they would be expensive in private hospital. Failing that, is there someone at one of the less-expensive private hospitals? Thanks.
  7. The 100b withdrawal is just the fee bank deducts for the bank statement, correct? Why 13 months of transactions and not 12? Is separate statement of previous 3 months a new requirement? I don't recall that when I renewed a year ago. What does that statement say, and how do we ask that bank for it? It's a separate document (piece of paper)? Thanks.
  8. By tram you mean a dedicated gov't-organized bus shuttle that non-employees can use? Is there cost? To catch it, do I get off at GC station and walk to Soi 7? And what about getting back to the station? Thanks.
  9. May I ask why you recommend RSU? You have yours done there? Also see on link only checkup for under 30s. When I consulted cardiologist at Chula about afib last year, he said no need for stress test as it would not turn up anything useful -- but perhaps that is only in context of afib? He did order an echocardiogram (normal).
  10. I have not been there since Pink Line opened, but is it easy enough to just walk from the Government Complex station to the immigration building? Thanks.
  11. I managed to make booking, but unlike in past, the email they sent me with queue ticket did not contain a link where you can cancel or change the booking. On the booking site, I did not readily see way to do this either. Pls excuse if these are very basic questions. Thanks.
  12. Thank you for response. I figured that after you select Extension Visa for Retirement, you have to click on the selection again before the Make An Appointment button works.
  13. For appointment for annual renew of Non-O retirement, I click on Make An Appointment but nothing happens. Others experience same? https://gov.immigration1.queueonline.net/appointment/login.html?v31 Thanks.
  14. Does anyone have for sale, or can recommend place to buy, inexpensive iPad in Bangkok? A honest, reliable place and device in good condition. I would only use to pair with health monitoring app so leaning against buying new models. Thank you.
  15. I forgot to add that after the May 2023 receipt, I left Thailand from August to December 2023, but returned to the same address as on the May 2023 receipt. If that makes any difference.
  16. I am due for annual renewal in March. I have a TM30 Receipt of Notification from May 2023. This is what I show if asked by IO, correct? Does it need to be updated or otherwise acted upon before March renewal? Thank you.
  17. Would you say it is better to do this in a hospital than in a beauty-type clinic? And would you know any good docs at Yanhee? Thank you.
  18. A friend has a mole on her face that she would like to have removed. Safety and price are considerations. Can someone who has had such done recommend a doctor/clinic in Bangkok? Thanks.
  19. I got a quote from Bumrungrad, where I would prefer to have it done, and it is considerably higher than that cited by others in this forum who have had the procedure done elsewhere. Do you think I should still proceed with Bumrungrad first and see if April will cover? If they turned down Bumrungrad and I then sought coverage at a cheaper hospital, would that make it less likely that April would cover than if I went via the cheaper hospital in the first place? Thank you for advice.
  20. May I ask, how did you find/decide on AOC? Someone recommended? I'm wondering if it would be better to have a broker in Thailand or at least in same/closer time zone?
  21. How did you know AA no longer handles intl policies? I did not receive any such notification from them. So that means we have to find another broker to deal with the April Intl (France) policy we bought via AA? How do you switch to AOC -- would you recommend them and whom to contact? Thank you.
  22. Wondering if you have heard back from broker on this? Assume it is AA? Thank you.
  23. I was wondering if April Intl would consider ablation "medically necessary" and cover it since some people only take rate control or antiarrhythmic medicines and not all doctors go to ablation as first-line treatment. Last cardiologist I saw in Bangkok said I should go direct to ablation. I am currently overseas, outside my April Intl zone of coverage, and if they would not cover it in Thailand, I may have procedure done overseas. How can I get good idea of whether they would cover -- or have covered it in the past -- before I return to Thailand in next few weeks? Ask the broker? Ask April (though I imagine they would say they would need to see the doctor's note and tests first, which of course I have not yet done for the procedure).
  24. Has anyone in this forum recently had catheter ablation done in Thailand that was covered by an April Intl inpatient policy? I have Essential policy.
  25. If you have had this procedure recently, I'd appreciate hearing about your experience. And is the new pulsed field technique available in Thailand? Thanks.
