  1. You my just need to;

    1. Reselect the audio device

    2. Reload the driver software for the audio device. If you not got software drives you can down load from HP web site

Look in my computer, properties, Devices, if you see a yellow question mark then that the issue.

I assuming you rebooted since you done the big update.

This is simple to fix and often happens often when you get up dates.

I have sometime found you can just tell it to go back to the previous driver software and it will work fine which is an option in the device manager. Good Luck.

Any compertent computer guy should be able to fix in 5 minutes.

  2. Has it always done this or only recently. Sounds like you only just purchased it or did i get the wrong impression. Check that the signal strength is ok, you should be able to see this in the connect software you use. If the signal strength is low or varying try a different location. Are you in Bangkok or up country somewhere? I only use the 3G network in Bangkok and it nearly always stable, I can stay connect for days at a time. The 12call (AIS) network is Edge or very slow speed compared with 3G. I am using 12call (Edge) on my Blackberry in Bangkok and I find the coverage is very good and speed ok so it should be fine. Is it only slow when you trying to send emails if they are big emails like a word doc or excel spread sheet it going to be slow whist it sends the email and attachments. Is it also slow if you are just looking at web pages?

  3. Agree if that what it doing it is the battery just replace it.. Sorry misundestoood what you said in your first post.

I would expect the laptop should run without the battery on mains power. So I think you may have more issues with the laptop than just the battery. See if you can try a battery in it before you buy or you may be wasting you money unless the laptop can be repaired. This could be a motherboard issue.

It runs fine if it's plugged in. I unplugged it again and it turned off in seconds. When I turned it on again, the little picture at the bottom of the screen (that one that tells you the laptop is plugged in and how much battery you have left) now has a red cross over it. If I hover my mouse over the cross, it reads "Fully Charged (100%). Consider replacing your battery" However, the actual picture of the battery looks empty, so the 100% charged thing is misleading.

  5. The TOT Phone line only 107Bht per month at least that what I am paying I took over from some one else so I do not know install costs. You may want to grap a cheap USB 3.2 or 7.2Mpbs Air card (1000 -2000BHT not sure price have changed) and one of those 99Bht Data only sims (2GB dowload last 30days to keep you on the air until phone and ADSL is sorted out. Just avoide AIS as they only provide Edge about 256 -384kpbs) The Edge air cards are very cheap but will be reduntant once the 3G rollout is sorted and ar little better than dailup speeds.

  6. If youd decide on 3G and an Aircard is your only option

There are 2 main speed 3.2Mpbs and 7.2Mbps Buy the faster one. Use an ISP using the TOT 3G trial network. Do not use AIS as they only support EDGE speed which are much much slower. Some people will tell you it not worth spending the money on the faster aircard but I do get downloads of 4Mbpbs which i wold not get on slower air card

    www.iec.co.th

    www.365.co.th

    www.i-Kool.net

    www.ifoxonline.com

    365 have a unlimited sim for 30days for 790BHT

There are other there the options but I can think of them at the moment. I steer away from True as the seem expensive and network coverge on 3G is not as good presently.

Once you have air card you can change your provider at any time just by changing the SIM in the air card.

  7. Maybe try Lower the Screen Resolution and then try again. You need to get both screen working first so start by making it a second image of the notebook screen once you have an image on both them try making it the primary monitor. i can take a bit of fiddling to get it working i know have spend along time getting Large screen TV working for media centre etc.

  8. Seems ok i just called my Thai Mobile from Skype and call was ok and stayed up. When i lived in Melbourne I used to call Thailand all the time on Skype 5 -6 time aday and some days it was perfect other days it was like you are descriping now drop poor quaily etc. Just keep trying or wait a while and try again.

  9. No Idea about TTT no you have ADSL filter on line for any phone hanset? Muke sre you have good connections to the modem, Disconnet evey thing else

Ihave been using 7.2Mbps 3G air card via a number of virtual providers (All via TOT) currentlly using www.365.co.th 790BHT per month unlimited 30days getting 3Mbps download and 1Mbps upload not slow at all. But i think if you go mad on downloads they cut you off.

  10. Have you tried retuning the channel using the manual fine tune option? The buzz aftern caused by the sound channelling picking up the interfarme informating for the picture which it should not do if it tunined correctly. One possible casue of this is if the signall from the TV station your watching is too strong does it only accour on one station or all stations? Canbe fixed by attenuating the signal but Ino idea where you purchase an TV signal attenuater in Bangkok if that where you are. Does another TV plugged into the same anntenna point have to same issue?

  11. I am a Thai Silver member have done Melbourne - BBK return maybe 7- 8 time return in last 15 months on Thai plus a few one ways and returns with jetstar . I find Thai are always on time . The service excellent and my bag comes out very very quickly in both Melbourne and BBK. I only fly economy. Compared with Jetstar you pay bit more but no extras no hassle and no pain Jetstar was 9 hours lat leaving Melbourne once. Thai do have one old B777 which has no Video Screen seems to be the spare Aircraft they us have stuck it t wice in 16 flights. I agree there not as good as Emirates or Singapore but there no far behind mind you i never had any haseles with them so I not seen how they perform when something goes wrong.

  12. Firstly try another Monitor lon one fro a friend if it stop flashing it the monitor. If it has got 1 year warntee you in luck maybe. I not replace it. If it still flashing the your got maybe a problem with the graphics card which maybe on the mother board. if this is faulty you can install a new graphic card cheaply. Hope this helps a bit

You've just given me a brainwave. I'm going to try my tv as a monitor. It's samsung also, so we'll see if the monitor is at fault. Thank you for your idea.

You may need to reduce the screen resoution for the Samung TV it may not be as good as your monitor if you get a black screen then try that.

  13. Just purchase an extenal USB Keboard ( arround 300- 500 BHT) and plug in. You need to install the Thai languague for your operating system. WIndows 2000, XP,Vista, Win 7. I am doing just this in windows 7 as i don't like using the laptop keboard all the time. My girfiends daugther is a Uni here in Bangkok and speak little english she uses it all the time when she comes to my place.
