  1. On a 24" monitor you can get higher resolutions than 1920 x 1024 and higher refresh rates so quality will be better on the monitor if you mainly using to watch movies and TV programs rather than Computer work I think the TV will be fine.

some people only use 1920 x 1024 resultion any way if you do then not much difference. I am use a 40 HD Samsung TV on my Media centre here in BKK and I some times use this for other "computer work and it is fine but I still miss my super high res 23.5" monitor which is in storage back in Australia.

  2. Just install it as a second disk and access the information from it when needed but forget the WIN 7 OS.

As stated about you most likely need to do clean install and registration with Microsoft any way, so why not buy a new disk for this and use your old one as extra storage.

If you really trying to save money then try your existing hard drive in the new computer but be prepared for it to install all new drivers and other things for the new motherboard combination any way and it may not be 100% successful.

You most likely need to register with Microsoft as they build a key based on the software hardware combination. It is not like XP where you could just install over the top with 100% success rate.

  3. I have a 20MBps TOT Fibre in Rayong at our factory and it really quick and delivers as per spec. Maybe there is something wrong either with the IT setup or the TOT link which needs fixing. We had a couple of issue with TOT where link has run slow and they have resolved issues reasonable quickly at least for Thailand. Have you discussed this with your IT people to check there not shaping your usage?

  4. Just plug a ethernet cable from your one port router to a port on the old router then you can use the other ethernet ports. Note you cannot use the ADSL port you’re only using this as a switch. The better way is to do as Astra says change the router you already have to the 3BB user name and password. 5. I got the feeling this was some sort of technical out issue not sure why redirected to MICT message!!!. As it not happened to me on AIS but was talking to someone who was on True who had the problem. Any more feedback today from other users AIS DTAC True is it all ok now or still ongoing?

  6. As you can top up online via carrier web site from anywhere at least with 12call and AIS you can on via credit card. I would think TRUE and DTAC would have the same facilities. It does not really matter where you are to keep the Sim current there just a question of who has the best deal to keep active.

My spin on coverage and I am using both AIS (private) and True (work)

    1. AIS

    2. TRUE

    3. DTAC

I have staff here who keep their phones near the windows as DTAC have no in building coverage and we are on high floor near US Embassy not up county!!! with AIS and TRUE no issues.

  7. My only advice is do not get anything that completely cover your ears (like Headset for listening to Music as it very unnatural when you talk I had a Microsoft set like this and I gave them away.

I have used many different sort mainly Logitech and Plantronics never bothered with wireless as you are at a PC or Laptop any way and if you using video as well you cannot go far away from the PC. I do have a setup with the 42 TV and my Media Centre PC where Camera is on top of the TV this might be good for wireless headset as I currently using a long usb cable to connect to the PC. 8. Yes you can open a savings account on a tourist visa but you have limited facilities some banks will not even give you internet banking on tourist visa just an ATM debit card. But yes every bank and every branch seems to have different rules. Kasikornbank and SCB are said to be the most Frang friendly! Bangkok Bank are bureaucratic even to business here in Thailand bu seem to have better rates if transfer from Thailand to OS also I like their internet banking. Just like in other countries.

  9. I had an HP scanner a few years ago with add on unit for 35mm negatives or slides but to be honest the results were disappointing even at the highest resolution. I spoke several "photography experts" and they said only the very expensive professional scanners do a good job on negatives and slides. So my advice would find a professional photo shop here the can do it for you but only do a few first to test the quality of their work. I am not sure if the home scanners have improved that much to change any of what I said above. any one have any recent experiences to add?

  10. www.speedtest.net has two hosts in Bangkok one hosted by Thai Visa and the other by STS group. You can select one or the other before you run the speedtest when I test a few minutes ago Thai Visa 0.81 down and 2.6Mbps up but STS group gave me 4.9Mbps down and 2.71 Mbps up. the Thai Visa site seems overloaded at this time so is not a true test of your links speed.
