  1. head in the toilet? this man did not die well, but then again who does.

Judging by the picture , and presuming he wasn't moved, I believe they meant to say 'face down in his bathroom'.......

Just old enough for his state pension and alone, rather sad.

Looks like one of the common type of deaths, age, prob sitting on toilet arms on his knees, head down, blood clot in the brain, my Mum went like that same age. RIP.

  2. Was doesn't TAT inform travel agencies around the world that bikinis and the like are no longer permitted in Thailand. Foreign tourists comming to Thailand actually think they can wear these and then fall foul of the law. They could have planned thier holiday at another destination.[/qu

    Chooka

Bikinis are allowed they are not banned. The PM only mentioned that they should not wear them if they encourage attacks.

I am sure I am right.

  3. It is not caused by going to UK they are addicted in Thailand, I know falangs who have big problems with their partners gambling in Thailand, they make the excuse to go and see their friends but the are having card schools. Some guys I know lost their cars, motor bikes and even homes, it is very bad. Mate of mne, his wife it top school teacher and she goes out to join friends playing cards, she looses quite a lot.

I take my wife home to New Zealand and we go to my local club and she likes to pick a dog out on the races, that's all.

  4. I gather you do not have A/C. Get a cold shower before getting into bed leave the blanket off have the fan full power rotating. Some people sweat more than others to sweat is good for you it protects your blood and body from over heating. I sweat throughout the day and night.

Mattress, stand it up off the bed and have the fan blow onto it.

  5. They are water evaporative air coolers. They are useless in a high humidity country. In Australia they call them swamp boxs. It is a very old type of cooling system.

They have a fabric belt normally the width of the rear of the unit they have 2 rollers 1 connected to a small rotary motor that turns the pad on the rollers in a tank of water the pad passes in front of a fan that sucks air through the back of the unit and through the damp pad which in theory takes the heat out of the air. They work good in hot DRY weather. Tip, if you buy one fill around 4 x 1lt bottles with water and keep the water in the fridge to have it as cold as possible to pour in the water tank.

  6. hate to say it but could easily have been a drugged and robbed incident, no info on whether he was alone when going to his room, if the guy was on holiday and it was his last night I would very much doubt he was alone.

The sort of details that are conveniently left out of a news report like the involvement of a 3rd party

Possibly left any dirty stuff out considering he may have had a family back home. Obviously if you were a reporter you would stick as much shit in as possible and not give a shit who you could hurt.

  7. Thai logic 101: something is bad, facts all agree with that assessment, but simply saying that something is happening or is expected to happen makes everythimg all ok once again for the numpties that take things at face value.

It's been 4 days, they cannot possibly have seen any "actual" rebound as yet, they're simply saying they expect it to happen. Let's wait and see. I'm guessing TAT will announce some amazingly high arrival numbers soon to support these "facts".

Ye, after TAT HAVE BEEN TOLD WHAT TO SAY.

  8. We buy most of our stuff from local markets. Large eggs 34btx10. Cauliflowers 10-20bt. Large corn cobs cooked 2 x20bt huge bunches spring on long 10-15bt. Chicken fillets 75bt kl. Try also going to Macro, they have gone up since the Thai company bought the Macro Thailand division out. Tesco offten has pork specials.

  9. Is this another of the death traps. Made in Thailand buses? Too narrow, and too high.

Have you noticed the rear double wheels the most rear 2 have had the inside wheel taken off. I have driven behind so many coaches in Thailand and a great deal of the coaches have only 1 wheel on the back double wheels axel they do this to save rubber and save fuel I believe. Why are they not stopped by Police for this. The bus manufacturers have these double wheels on the rear for a particulat and safety purpose but they never get stopped and prosecuted. This is a ssafety issue. I have mentioned this many times. It is very unsafe and should be looked at.
