Meanwhile, there existbrothelshealth spas on almost every street corner, even the smallest hamlet has at least onewhore housecultural center, and according to a certain politician, up to 1 MILLIONprostitutesbusiness women are plying their trade in a country with a population of barely 70 million. And you honestly wonder why the world doesn't take Thailand serious, making it the butt of sarcastic jokes every so often?

None of his professors argued with his claims in the paper, he said, because he knew what he was talking about far better than them.
They probably only kept mum because they knew ALL TOO WELL that Chuwit's paper was correct... the majority among them being avid "mia noi" financiers as well as regular "health spa" customers.

How about "clubs" with a high membership percentage among politicians, civil servants and their fall guys, i.e. drivers, aides, secretaries, gardeners, pool boys, etc.?

Well, he should've been warned. After all, there was a news article on TV only yesterday which said that exports of "Thai fruits" to FTA markets (Australia being one of them) were up 107%.

If Thailand had put greater emphasis on importing vaccines instead of soybeans, maybe fewer people would have to wait for their jabs until May and way, way beyond.
As one previous poster claimed, their appointment is in July, three MONTHS from now!
-
Thai fruits, huh?
Well... I've stumbled across quite a few of them during my extensive global travels pre-Covid. They're everywhere!

Thank you, DDC, for discouraging inter-provincial travel in the light of the recent exponential rise in Covid-19 cases...
...AFTER three quarters of the population have traveled inter-provincially for the Songkran holiday.
Your timing is impeccable.

9pm instead of the usual 10pm? A whole hour less??? These anti-Covid measures really are getting increasingly harsh!

Ah, soybean imports... such a key indicator for a rebounding economy. Perhaps some of the editors at World Grain should consider joining TAT. They'd be perfect for the job.

So, does this include "Seaspiracy"?
26 films in 3 months seems like a lot. Just gettng the personnel in, through quarantine, seems like a challenge.
Would love to hear more about these productions.
It's not all cinematic feature films, but primarily music videos, commercials and corporate promotional videos.

Great plan! I wonder if I'm still expected to help out the Thai economy by spending 300,000 baht every month if I invest 15-million baht in buying a standalone house in a housing estate where I am not granted any voting rights while waiting for this scheme to be revoked after 3 to 5 years, upon which I probably will be obliged to transfer the land ownership to my Thai wife, with whom I will then take out a lease for the next 40 years so I don't lose the roof over my head.

It is a well known fact that Thai-conducted probes never penetrate very deep because the probed channel is usually blocked by wads of cash as well as a general stone-walling among a certain population demographics that eschews any probing attempts altogether.

Thank you for informing us about the impending disaster AFTER half the population has already embarked on their Songkran travels, taking the virus to all corners of the country.

Thai governments ALWAYS are ill-prepared for EVERYTHING, and entirely regardless as per which political faction or coalition is at the helm.
Everybody KNOWS that there will be water shortages every year during the dry season... yet mitigation measures are only implemented once the taps run dry.
Everybody KNOWS that that there is going widespread flooding each and every year during the rainy season... yet disaster plans are only drawn up when half the country already is three feet underwater.
Everybody KNOWS that scores of people are going to freeze to death during the cold season... yet blanket are only distributed after the casualties have begun mounting.
Everybody KNEW that the more contagious UK variant of Covid-19 had appeared in the country at least two months ago... yet despite all warnings the government dragged its feet until cases had already started to spike.

Alas, this seems to be the only viable way. A slap on the wrist and - in a few rare cases - wearing a monitoring bracelet does preciously nothing. People only will learn when it really hurts them materialistically.
If a driver is caught drunk, the vehicle should be impounded on the spot, the driver and his passengers having to find other means to continue on their way.
All vehicles impounded in such way also should be misappropriated and destroyed, regardless of the erstwhile owners moaning and whining how much hardship it's going to cause them.
Even a super wealthy person will learn the lesson once 5 BMWs have been impounded and destroyed.

The gravest mistake this government has made in a long string of avoidable mistakes is NOT to have canceled Songkran; especially under the aspect that the supposedly more contagious UK variant of the virus is known to have entered the kingdom at least 2 months ago.
As half the nation is moving about, this virus is going to spread like wildfire. And no 14-day closure of entertainment places will change that.
This mistake is going to cost the country dearly, I fear.
My maid and her entire family went on the road yesterday, traveling back to their home province of Chantaburi. I asked her whether she was aware that she and her folks would actually have to undergo 14 days of quarantine upon arrival as per ministerial decree.
She answered, "don't worry about it, we're only visiting family," missing the entire point and proving her ignorance. And unfortunately, there are millions over millions of other dumbbells that have the same mindset.

I wonder where THEY caught it, those irreproachable, stainless beacons of all that is good and decent and moral.
Perhaps the guest lists of Krystal Club and other 'hi-so" party venues could shed a light on it?
