If I was single then a condo all the way due to its ease.
We bought a house in one of the modern moo baans this year and it is definitely nice to have the space, although I do still miss the condo life and the secluded feeling you get being high up above the city. Even though we have a gym, pool and park / playground area in the moo baan the facilities aren't as good as you find in the new condos which is a shame.
I guess they are some of the sacrifices you have to make as there is no way we could have afforded a four bedroom condo.

Good to see this new 'committee' is already coming out with some comedy press releases.

The rules change that often that nobody is sure what the latest rule is.
Absolutely, and I bet the police aren't really doing much to try and enforce any restrictions.

Good news, although incredibly dubious.
The ban is extended, Taweesin comes out and says that if they relaxed the ban it would 'fuel the spread of contagion'. Then miraculously, a big donation from one major player and the ban is lifted. You really couldn't write these scripts.

Did Prayut himself not wish to donate? The man is himself, despite spending most of his working life in the military, a multi $ millionaire.

As usual, a blatant lack of common decency in this country.

No chance.
There will be a nice deal in place to reward the big brewing companies once this lockdown ends.

There is a coffee shop / off - license near the Lake Ratchada Complex by Asoke that were selling wine and spirits yesterday (don't know the name as my mate works near there). Managed to order 2 bottles of gin and 2 bottles of whiskey that he is bringing round at 5pm. Sadly no beers ????.

There are no issues with that, however it would be nice if what info the CCSA release to the nation isn't then changed the next day like we have seen this week.
Show all those leadership skills you honed in the military.

Thai airways is a microcosm of what is actually wrong with the country.
Absolutely spot on. It epitomises a lot about this country over the last few years or more.
This should be sent to anyone who approved this bailout, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

Well, what can you expect from these charlatans.

How many more people in Thailand are wandering around without displaying symptoms!
CNN mentioned an independent study in New York on I think 4000 people found over 75% being asymptomatic.

Just where does he think tourists will be coming from in around November? Also, has he perhaps engaged his brain and thought about the risks of allowing tourists to enter the country?

He certainly doesn't look in the best of knick nowadays.

I think you'll find a hell of a lot of Thais are home already, having lost their jobs when the lockdown closed many, many workplaces, leading to massive unemployment.
Exactly. I thought they had also stopped unnecessary out of province travel. So if the authorities do their job this isn't an issue at all.

No surprise. It was never going to end.
However, it will be interesting to see what these 'easing' measures might be. I am guessing shops and services like salons etc to reopen, but not restaurants and definitely not pubs. The curfew will stay on I would guess.
With so few cases now there is absolutely no reason to continue banning alcohol.

Not gonna happen
I don't mean stopping it long term. I mean I thought the government banned it until the end of April in their press release for the lockdown procedures. I didn't realise you could still fly to another province.

Thailand has seen a steady population increase over recent weeks.
Will this continue once the lockdown ends? Absolutely no chance. It'll be back to 50 or 60 a day.

He urged husbands to dissuade their wives from going to gambling dens.
How about the authorities doing their job? Oh, I forgot that most of these gambling dens are run by people in the authorities.

Of course it is only the foreign workers who may be showing symptoms. How about employers just monitor ALL STAFF.

Well, hardly anything in the grand scheme of his wealth. Under 0.1%.
However, I bet these people will be lorded in the Thai press as being great people who all Thais must respect.

With the numbers here being so low there is absolutely no reason to continue this lockdown and curfew. Now obviously you don't go back to normal, but a lot of places now need to reopen with proper safety measures in place.
The only thing I would definitely maintain for the foreseeable future is not allowing tourists to enter.

International School Fees - Refund
in Teaching in Thailand Forum
Posted
The international school in Bangkok where I work has offered a small discount on fees in term 3. I doubt there is a law saying they have to offer a discount / refund as technically the school is still operating (albeit learning online).
What is S31?
