"Also you have to upload a copy of the landlord's id."

I have made 3 application to register houses in the past few months. Never asked to upload any ID. Only enter all the details from the tabian baan blue book.

Maybe this is a new requirement ?

Since the owner of the house is a company, I sent (or tried to send) the Tabian Baan, the DBD cocuments with the name of the company directors, and my passport page as a director of the company.

I simply thought it was logical to send these documents for a house owned by a company.

    Maybe I have exaggerated .... ????

It may be the address bits not being put in correctly- Town, district and province need to be done in Thai. Also you have to upload a copy of the landlord's id.

Best you sit down with someone who reads Thai to set it up. There is a hotline number that can be called if you have problems- again, it needs a Thai to do it.

Many thanks, all the entries seem be correct, my name in western letters, and company name and address in thai, but when I put the numbers in the box does not happen anything.

Should I do something else to send the data after putting the numbers ? And what should happen after this ?

Anyway I agree with you, a thai speaking person is strongly advisable.......

  4. Maybe I am a bit naive, but when I try to register my house at FNHOTELREG (with Internet Explorer), when everything seems to b completed, at the end of the form I put the random numbers in the box, but nothing happens....

What shall I do to send the data ?

The button "save" give me a strange message, and it appears to be not correct.

    Thanks

  5. I am trying to register my house for the on line address reporting.

The house is owned by a Company, and I am one of the directors of the company.

The first page looks quit simple, but I do not know what to write when they ask "registered at", as indicated with the red arrow in the picture. Any suggestion ?

    AddressReg01.jpg.f0844a402f7aab143d5ee1e97985b501.jpg

Moreover, being a Company the house owner, regarding the documents I think to upload The Blue Book, the Affidavit (DVD) stating the names of the Directors, and the passport of the director.

Any sugestion based on your experience ?

    Many thanks

    Federico

  6. I read on Phuket News that " evacuation procedures were used to remove customers from the main Cental Phuket Floresta building "
    Simply  ridicolous !

I was inside and, while the fire was on, everybody was still able to enter, through the flyover, from the old building to the new one and walk around.

I entered three times during the fire, supposing that everything inside was open, and every time I have been sent out only after a long wandering inside.

The only concern of the staff seemed to prevent the customers to take pictures of the burning from inside the building (why? based on what reason?).

At the end the flyover has been closed only after the fire was extinct.

Hope they will improve a bit their "evacuation procedures" .......

  7. Phuket View restaurant on Rang Hill.

Has anybody recently been at this restaurant ?

Once upon a time t was a good and pleasant restaurant, later it fell down and it has been closed for a while.

Yesterday  (I was going to the always very good Tung Ka Café, one of my favorite in Phuket....)  I noticed that it is open again, with a good number  of cars parked outside, I suppose that the management has changed.

Anybody with a recent experience ?

  8. Today I saw this strange round building in Parlai, near the old Tang Kae restaurant, that now is closed.

Does anybody know what is this building ?

Maybe a comfortable arena for Muay Thai, one more hotel for chinese groups or a new kind of massage parlour (at the windows I see many mattresses.....) ?  ?

  9. Just an update for address registration, regarding the persons that live in a house owned by a Company of which they are directors:

Yesterday I have been requsted, beyond the usual other staff, also a recent copy of the  Company affidavit  (DVD) stating the names of the directors, and a copy of the bue book.

It has been a very long process, with a long waiting line.

Last February they did not ask me the Company affidavit and not even the blue book, and in five minutes everything was over.

It seems that the matter is becoming more complicated and time consuming, it would be wonderful if somebody that knows thai language and managed to register the address on line would give some instructions to other people ........

  10. In my opinion Rawai is not the place where to go if you do not have a scooter or at least a bicycle.

In Raway the various services that you may need are not so close, maybe a more "touristic" area, with more shops, restaurants, etc, would be advisable.

will I have to do the video and theory test again, thanks for the info

One month ago, for the same process (from 2 years to 5 years) I was not requested to attend video and theory, only the colours and brake test.

Or maybe you have an older computer with an old version Internet Explorer?

I did it twenty days ago, with Windows10 and Chrome the process has been fast and smooth.

After seven days I got the confirmation from the Immigration.

We, I and Thai house owner, applied ID via internet without visiting immigration office and it is approved. I hope this should mean we did nothing wrong. And then, I inputted my data to register I live here.

Do you know which information did your Thai owner put on the last line of  the FNHOTELREG form, where it is required "Register at"  ?

Rubbish, you get a thai license based on your home license, I have 2 Thai licenses (Car,Bike) and all I presented was my Australian license. Some DLTs may ask for an IDP as a "translation" of your home license (usually if not in english), others (outside of tourist areas) may even ask for a certified translation.

You dont hand over your IDP and get a license, you hand over your home license and get a Thai license. Again, the IDP is a "translation" document .

You may call it as you like, it is not a problem, also if at the International Conventions it has been decided to call it "International Driving Permit".

But if you go to the Transport Departement in Phuket with your original license (not in english) and the IDP as per 1968 convention (that should be considered a "translation"), you are refused.

If you go with your license and the IDP as per 1949 convention, you get your thai license.

IDP is a translation document that "accompanies" your home license. You get a Thai license by presenting your home license, IDP is just a translation document, not a stand alone license.

Ok, you need to have with you also your original driving license but, if your original license is not in english language, with the International Driving Permit as per the 1949 Convention you can get the Thai License, if you go with the IDP as per the 1968 convention, you are refused the license.

    There is NO SUCH THING.

There is the International Driver Permit ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Driving_Permit )  that is regulated by the 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Traffic. (license valid for three years)

Thailand has not yet ratified this convention (it takes time....) , so here they apply only the old 1949 Geneve Convention (license valid one year).

This last license is recognized by the Transport Department and with this, you can apply for a Thai driving license without the need of test. (I have direct experience on this )
