Qatar Airways Rome Office
Tel : +39 02 6797 6000 (Contact Center Italy)Office Hours : 9:00 am - 6:00 pm (Mon - Sat) / 10:00 am - 6:00 pm (Sunday)
Closed on Public Holidays.
Rome Airport Office
Building EPUA, Room 308-310
Fiumicino International Airport, 00050 Fiumicino
Rome, ItalyMany thanks, but I had several conversations with this number, that is only a call center, and with some others Qatar telephone numbers (Privilege Club, central assistance in Doha, etc.) but as I said the only real suggestion that I had is to go to the airport and ask them directly.
Unfortunately I live 500 km from Rome Airport.....

I assume your an Italian national from your name.
The Thai Embassy, Milan, state;..........
Which is not the same as they are verbally stating.
The Covid test results are to be shown to the airline for boarding (not for the Visa), so if your unsure ring the airline at the airport and ask to speak to a check in supervisor for confirmation.
The fact that verbally they are saying different things is the reason why I am looking for a real experience done at the airport.
I had a tough discussion (and strong complaint) with Qatar airways by email and at the phone : they did not give me a clear answer, they only say that they are following the Rome Embassy directions.
Moreover they do not give a number to call the check-in staff at the airport, and the number is not reported in any directory. Impossible to talk to them !!!!
Qatar call center even suggested me to go directly to the airport and ask them when they are boarding an other flight !!!!!!

......... All you need to know is what your embassy says ........
And my embassy says that, if the swab time is written on the certificate, this is the moment that should be no more than 72 hours before taking off.
This is the reason that I would appreciate to hear from somebody that had a direct experience with swab more than 72 hours in advance, but it seems that nobody answers........
We spoke a lot, on this forum, about this subject, but no one reported his real experience
-
We have already discussed about ths matter: the official thai requirement in the enghlis translation says "certificate issued non more than 72 hours before", while some embassies say "test time non more that 72 hours before".
It seems impossible to have a clear answer from the airways companies, the matter is on the hands of the staff that work at check-in counter and it is difficult to talk to them if not going directly to the airport. So my question is : has anybody a direct experience with embarking with a certificate issued no more that 72 hours before the flight but reporting a swab time that is more than 72 hours before the flight ?
If yes, at which airport and with which company ? -
I would suggest to check this link for a first approach to the general tax matter in Thailand :

BTW is it possible to to have that 400k in thai investment account , like on stock market but thai? so inflation doesn't eat it for whole year?
If you need the 400k for your visa, they must be kept in a bank account, for sure not invested in the thai stock market.

Thailand "Revenue Code", Chapter 3 "Income Tax", Section 41 states :
"A resident of Thailand who in the previous tax year derived assessable income under Section 40 from an employment or from business carried on abroad or from a property situated abroad shall, upon bringing such assessable income into Thailand, pay tax in accordance with the provisions of this Part.
Any person staying in Thailand for a period or periods aggregating 180 days or more in any tax year shall be deemed a resident of Thailand."
So, do not worry about this.

There is a frequently posted link in the ASQ Facebook group for a business in Thailand offering "Fit To Fly" certificate after a virtual consultation and downloadable certificate for $15. ......
This is what the Thai Embassy in my country wrote to me :
- 1. After the receipt of COE, please prepare the additional documents to declare at the check-in counter as follows
- 1.1 Passport and valid Thai visa/ re-entry permit (if required)
- 1.2 Certificate of Entry (COE)
- 1.3 Fit to Fly Health Certificate. (Thailand’s Health Control requires a hard copy version.)
- 1.4 Medical certificate with a laboratory result indicating that COVID-19 is not detected, using RT-PCR test, issued within 72 hours before departure (in case of connecting flights, before embarkation from initial port).
- .........
For the PCR certificate no problem if received by email, but they want that the doctor really visits you when signing the FtF certificate

It is only the results than need to be with in 72 hrs not when you get tested .......
I would be very cautious about it.
I agree that the english translation of the official requirements asks only for a " certificate..... issued no more than 72 hors before travelling " but, apart from the fact that it would be an illogical rule, the Thai Embassy in my country (Italy) told me that, if there is on the certificate the test date and time, this is the moment that must be 72 hours before the first flight.I have tried to clarify the matter further contacting Emirates and Qatar, whose staff will check my certificate, but I could not get a clear answer.
In my personal situation to get this certificate is for sure the more difficult requirement to comply with, but I do not want to risk a denied boarding-

It looks like Qatar is offering Doha -> BKK -> HKT utilizing a codeshare with Bangkok Airways for the BKK->HKT leg, but I'm not sure how a stopover and plane change in BKK works in this environment.
I think it will be very hard to be allowed in a domestic flight from BKK to HKT before doing the quarantine.....
The next Qatar direct flight to HKT is scheduled for the 28th of December-

I am considering the possibility to buy an electric scooter, sufficiently powerful to carry two people.
I would use it only for short trips.Does anyone have some experience with an electric scooter up and down on the Phuket hills ?
Any brand, model or dealer to suggest ?
Thanks

Do not worry, I had my COE approved on the 4th of December for a flight that will take off the 31st
(P.S.: sorry fo misunderstanding your previous message)

Now I have 15 days to upload the ASQ and flight bookings.
I suppose only the booking must be done in 15 days. The flight can be a bit later. ?As far as I know both ASQ and flight booking must be done in 15 days.
If not you have to start again from the beginning...... -
Maybe they want to read explicity on the certificate that Covid is covered, many insurances do not cover in case of pandemic.
Or maybe they want to see a definite expiring date.
-
In the general istructions that I have received from te ASQ hotel where I will go, they wrote, without my asking :
"Please note - The Hotel will not check your luggage on arrival" ???????? -
The Thai Embassy in Rome, with the approval of the COE, wrote to me :
- 1.5 Insurance or letter from employer guaranteeing that the insurance company or employer will cover a minimum of 100,000 USD of medical costs incurred by the applicant in Thailand, including medical costs in the event that applicant contracts COVID-19 (The insurance must cover the total duration of stay in Thailand)
- 1.6 T.8 Form (Health Declaration Form). You can download T.8 Form at https://bit.ly/34X6sAJ
This requirement regarding only the Fit to Fly certificate is really strange, considering that COE, Covid Certificate and Iinsurance are not original hard copy.
But any doctor should be able to fill out for you this certificate, is it so difficult to find some doctor where you are now ? -

Don't worry. If your PCR 72 hours prior to ETD is positive, wave bye-bye to all prepaid money.
Not necessarily.
In this case Covid insurance with TGIA can be refunded, and many airways companies and ASQ accept a postponement

I do not remember exactly, but for sure did not put the brackets in my form.
I did not have any problem (at least for the telephone number.......)
-
My plan is to get the one year permit extension starting from a non-O retirement visa (90 days)
And my Embassy still is issuing the letter stating that I have a pension greater than.....ect.
I have three doubts :
Do I need to show that the pension arrives on my thai account ?
In this case do I need to show that all my pension arrives in my thai account or it is sufficent to send 65k per month ?
If 65k per month are enough, do I need to send them every month or it is sufficient to send 65k x 12 = 780k once per year ?
Any indication will be relly sppreciated

I think your example is more about drowning sorrows DURING quarantine. .....
Not at all, I am not so alcoholic, and I do not need to drown my quarantine sorrows in a bottle of wine .
I would be happy to give all my bottles to the hotel to keep them while I am in quarantine.
You know, the Champagne bought in Thailand is madly expensive and often badly preserved.
Usually, when I come back to Thailand, I bring with me some bottles, good bottles, that I open gradually during my staying, together with some food specialty that I like particularly.
Anything to be condemned ?
