I have a wife who was a bar girl. Recently she has not been asking me for money. Should I be worried?

If a thai lady isn't asking for money, she most definitly has another source. Bar girl or not, in my experience most thai girls want money the same as a bar girl. A falang=money.....you already know what's up!.........always listen to your gut feeling because in most instances 99% of the time it is right!....move on!..........don't fret about her! she will always be the same and you will end up wasting your time and money. There are nice ones somewhere in LOS but you must not look. Just take care of yourself and try and meet one that does not speak any english unless she is well educated. Just do the same as you would back home. Myself, I would never think of marrying a prostitute,would you?....I think not. I realize these thai girls are very very good at making us believe they love only you and that she has finally found the man she wants to be faithful to etc. It's all bull........they're just good at what they do.....don't let her screw your head up and finances as it did to me for a short while. I married a thai lady very beautiful in mid 40's but one lie after another after another. What I did on one of my trips was to buy a one way to Vietiene, laos towards the end of the 30 days at which you can get another visa if you prefer to stay longer.

A one way from bkk will cost you $111us(laos airlines) and a one way from the US depending, you can get one way to bkk for about 700Us or less.

Or you can send for a non imm O visa to the thai embassy and pay 2000baht(65US) and just go on a one way with no problems,

It is the airlines that will check and not so much immigrations at bkk when you arrive. But if you have time(about 2 weeks) you can just mail your passport and a copy of your bank statement to show income for a single entryor another expidited place faster). For a multiple entry you need more documentation though. One time I just purchased the cheapest I could find and didn't much care if I lost it or not and that was to yangon burma through bangkok air.....as long as you can show a departure within 30 days copy of confirmed ticket you will be ok. The non imm O visa is your best bet as it will be good for 90 days upon entry and you have 6 months to use it....good luck. I do know you can find some good RT tickets online for about 1100US from the west coast US and fly 23 hrs on korean airlines which is a great airlines and nice 777 if you are just going for 30 days.....I just use a non imm visa and fly one way and am good for 90 days. Also, you can get an extention at close to the end of the 90 days to stay up to a year right in thailand.....good luck!

Hmm, I can understand this somewhat, but I usually nod hello or vise versa if I see another falang. In bangkok, now, I may not acknoledge everyone and usually it is in the northern smaller towns that we don't see too many that I notice more and say hello as we pass.

My thai wife seems to not understand why I don't talk to every falang we see. I tried to expxlain" I don't know them"....she seems to think I should strike up a conversation with all I see. I do as i do at my home country, and that is if someone looks like a nice person, then I will say hello and if I don't feel comfortable doing that then I don't. It all depends on who it is and how they apear to me and if I have doubts as to thier person!!....same as anywhere.

This is a request not from your wife, but from her father! This is total greed and just ignore it! Your wife, you said was already giving them money. You are already married and I am assuming she was not the 18 year old virgin that he wants the money for for a custom from years ago!! This is just greed thinking you are a rich falang and wanting to take advantage of you. I personally had the same request but instead we have paid for many things for her family, parents and nieces and nephews. These type of parents you just have to let it go in one ear and out the other. One thing that many don't realize and that is that this is a request from her father or both mother and father to try and make a nieve falang pay so they can buy a new "whatever" Ignore this request! It is not your wifes request! It was asked of her to get You to give more money to them. Many naive falang's do this because they think it is customary but after she reached a certain age etc or has been married before and lived away from her parents home, this is just garbage! Forget his request and go on and use your money for your wife and your and kids. That father does not need to drain your finances for his leasure. You are not, I am assuming filthy rich and there is no reason to pay him anything. Ask your wife if her father requested this?

Of course she wants to help her parents but it sounds as though she has been all along. Or make arrangements to have the money and baht returned after the ceromony if it really is just a ceromony for show, but many of these types try to keep the money for themselves. This sin sod was never intended, as many think ,for the parents to keep and use as they please. It was supposed to be a measurement of security for your WIFE if something happens to you or a divorce so she can get another start. There is, in Thai culture a great amount of pressure put on thai daughters to get money from especially a falang husband. A thai husband would never pay that amount unless they are in the upper status arena, and only if she was never married and you are the first to take her away. And is is to show off etc. If her parents are truly good hearted people they wouldn't try this on you. I am thinking her parents are from central or norheast area of Thailand. They should be satified thier daughter is happy and being taken care of good and they are getting money help every month already. One thing many should learn and that is never let the parents know how much money you have because this will determine how much they want from you. For gods sake, they already are getting money!!!!!....live at least 2-6 hrs away from them also, if you don't want to be always hit up with some imaginary reason, emergency money need!....I am called stinky ifI don't give them when they want, and never has the money I HAVE spent on them been appreciated. You best sit down with your mother and explain ALL the ramifications of that "affidavit of support" and I mean ALL!!. You will be puting her into a sponsorship that could never end!! Make sure you and her know everything that could happen. Even consider all the most remote possibility's!!This could cost her for the rest of her life. I would consider re-thinking letting your mother get into that situation. If you can not do it on your own, and you care about your mother, do it yourself and if you can't at the moment, get a better job first so you are the one responsible. Don't do that to your own mother!!. If you still need mom's help, you are not ready to marry! no offence!

Protection from= "...........affidavit of support"

Does anyone know what that other document is called that can protect yourself from being bled to death upon a separation after bringing your thai wife to America?...I Know there is one affidavit that will state upon disolution of relationship she will return to her home country without aquiring state assistance. This will protect you for the long run of support you signed when bring her to your country. If anyone has any knowledge about going about this, it would be apreciated.

I would, without hesitation, before bringing your thai wife to America, find out about the "affidavit of support" I.E. if you and your wife separate/divorce or simply split up while she is in America, she can go to government resources and get and recieve support and all the while, YOU will be fully responsible for paying back to the Gov everything that she gets. This does not end as long as she stays and even moves in with another boyfriend etc. You signed that "affidavit of support" this signs your life away with having to pay at least 125% of whatever the poverty level income is at the time. YOU will pay untill she re-marrys or goes back to her Home country. This is something that YOU better think long and hard about especially with the high rates of breakups with Thai/falang relationships.

Not to say all Thai ladys are on the dig, but face it. It is there and in high % . That money and green card is worth more to them than you realize. I am married to a Thai lady and I am doing all I can to find an "caveat" that is legal and will protect me after or if there is a breaakup/divorce etc. I absolutley will not sign away my life saving for god knows however long. . One story that happened to a man in Seattle Washington. He married a philipino lady and brought her to America etc. After a short while her plan came into effect. She filed for divorce, got half his income pension and half of his assets. They went to courthouse for this final decree and right in the court room, he pulled his pistol and shot her dead. I can understand what his feelings must have been.This happened about mid 80's before court house scanners were used for weapons etc.

I checked on my pension and my state statutes on that are: Pensions are a personal asset that are non disposable to division upon divorce if it was proccured before your marriage or even during for me.. Also with the short span of time involved I am not too worried. my Pension is also from a medical early pension from my company which also is considered disability pension along with SS which is also considered personal assets. Whew!!!!...close one!.....I hope anyone else that reads these posts can learn from them what could be at stake.

Even if she did enter, there is nothing she can lay claim to now. But I know she is trying! I never revealed all my information because of just this type of issue. She has been trying to get me to keep a steady tranfer of funds to her account so she can show my support.

I don't believe she can get a visa without the afidavit from me for financial support form 146 i think. No way will I sign something like that as it will make me liable for a lifetime as long as they stay in the US whether divorced or not. Including all medical they get from the gov. and everything up to 125% of the so called poverty rate in the US + all medical, food etc. The government can sue you for it all for years and years(life)....even if you get divorced, YOU are responsible for that person!!=do not sign that affidavit of support! unless you absolutely sure of her intentions, which no one can be! This I would reccommend to anyone wanting to bring thier wife to the UK or US. to protect yourself from what happens all too often...the ones that use you for support and green card etc....comes and then go thier own way while you pay for them for life....ughhh always get that safety form....I will try and post the name of the affidavit that you can have them sign to protect yourselves,.if you want your wife to enter your country, that is! Just make sure and get GOOD legal advice to protect your assets.

Just keep away from her area in Thailand , Its another Scam from a money grabber. As they say you can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it drink.How would she get anything from you , if you did not want to pay, In the UK you can take anyone to Court in the Small Claims courts for £60 pound ,If the other party Ignores your case against them you have won , now comes the good part , it does not mater how you win , if the other party will not pay the fine you have to go back to court which costs more money to win your case again and get damages awarded to you , then the process starts again , they do not or will not pay , so back to Court you go , and on and on you go,Just put your money in another bank account and don't have any visible assets.Or just Put a claim in against her for damages and loss of property and dignity.See if she pays .

The problem is, I do have a visible pension on early retirement from 50 yrs old. And that is hard to hide. Although only thing is my pp shows I left in May of 2010. now that makes it only 3 months we lived together. But of course she will say anything to make it look as though she quit her job for me etc. My private investiagtion shows that she never worked for the company she claimed nor made 35,000baht per month anywhere as a manager there. This is her excuse to make me send her that much every month. I had to chuckle at that too. " the full extent of the law"...that is a joke especially the law that protects the falang. If it's a fathai, then it may be examined a little closer and of course that darn falang was the culprit that started it all and the fathai's were just defending themselves and figured it was pay day after defending themselves. This, of course will be discussed between the "aleged" perps and oficer and then tip the officer(with the Russians money) to show thier thanks for understanding what really happened. The officer will shake his head in a discusted manner at how this darned Russian attacked all of them. The russian didn't really have any money on him because he spent all he had in the bar. We can't blame these fathai's for this as this kind of behavior is derived deep inside the cerebral cortex and is actually called the "old brain" or limbic system. This is the part that gives the natural instinct for survival and also pleasure senses. Also, this limbic system goes into overdrive when drugs are introduced into the body i.e. alcohol etc. The outer laters actually called the "new brain" or the actual "cerebral cortex" will be subdued due to the comsumption of alcohol and let the :old brain control the survival instinct to which "money" is the same as a drug. This "as soon as caught" will be the defense and of course , by jury with the great logic of thai'e will see fit for aquital. back to thier normal life and bar after work. Gee, it was just a sexpate . Aren't all falang's just sexpates and rich and the only reason for being here is to have sex with teen age girls?...surre...of course that's it. "Once found"?....I'm sure they are hunting them down like blood hounds and are angry as hell and these thai police want justice done! But first, after thier rounds of businesses picking up protection money "chicago style" then off to the hunt. ..I hope the Russian is ok now and hope he learned a valuable lesson! He is lucky he is not in the morgue.
