Economic Party Advocates Capital Punishment for Corrupt Officials in Thailand
It could only work if you had a super clean police force and judiciary, otherwise suspects could be threatened with death unless they handed over brown envelopes.

Ad Carabao Opposes Casino-Entertainment Project, Sparks Debate
Far too many Thais have problems with gambling already, it's madness and evil in my view to add to the availability of this insidious vice. Those who propose such casinos only think of money, not the social consequences, shame on them for their moral bankruptcy.

Updates and events in the War in Ukraine 2025
Several airports in Russia suspended operations overnight on Tuesday amid drone attacks from Ukraine, reports say. The arrivals and departures of civilian aircraft were restricted at the airports of Nizhny Novgorod, Saratov, Tambov and Kaluga, according to Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency. Over the past few days, Russian authorities shut down airports in Moscow twice, on Friday and Sunday, amid Kyiv’s drone raids into Russian territory. While all eyes are on Gaza, another war is being fought for control of Jerusalem.
Thousands of Israelis have joined a state-funded march through the Muslim quarter of the Old City in Jerusalem, where large groups chanted racist slogans including “Gaza is ours”, “death to the Arabs” and “may their villages burn”. The annual march, paid for and promoted by the Jerusalem city government, celebrates Israel’s capture and occupation of East Jerusalem and its holy sites in the war of 1967. The Israeli takeover is not recognised internationally. The Jerusalem municipality advertises the event, known as the flag march, as a “festive procession”, part of a broader programme of events celebrating the “liberation” of the city. 'Slap in the face': Veterans group shreds Trump VA cuts on Memorial Day
Political action committee VoteVets spent Memorial Day targeting the administration of President Donald Trump over significant cuts it imposed at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). "Gutting VA will result in delayed appointments and substandard care, leading directly to more veteran deaths. In fact, as reports and internal documents now prove, Elon Musk's wrecking ball is causing systems to fail, putting veterans at risk," said Kayla Williams, Iraq Veteran and senior policy advisor at VoteVets, in a post on X. In addition to cutting agency contracts, Newsweek reports administration officials are reducing the VA workforce by 82,000 staffers, which is nearly 20 percent of the agency. Seems he came to his senses a bit here
Trump really is a child in a game that's only for adults. No coherent strategy, lashing out at straightforward questions from reporters, he's a complete embarrassment. And now you have the Russians talking to him as an upset child. There, there, Donald, have another diet coke. Responding to Trump’s remarks on Monday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia was grateful for American efforts to bring peace, which have included the first direct peace talks in three years. He said negotiations are at “a decisive moment that is linked to emotional overloading for everyone and emotional reactions”. Kremlin accuses Trump of 'emotional overloading' as US President says Putin 'has gone absolutely CRAZY!'

Love her quote- ' If you give the Russians a carrot, they either eat it or hit you over the head with it.' Asked by The Sunday Telegraph about Trump's performance, she minced no words. She said: "Terrible. Let's give him a pass for effort." She added: "What Trump is doing is answering the wrong exam question. He thinks it's just about real estate, about trade and who gets what, be it minerals, land or rare earths." Donald Trump's former advisor issues brutal verdict on Vladimir Putin phone call

Updates and events in the War in Ukraine 2025
Western allies are not imposing any range restrictions on the use of long-range weapons delivered to Ukraine against Russian military targets, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said on Monday. "There are no longer any restrictions on the range of weapons delivered to Ukraine, neither by the UK, France, nor us. There are no restrictions by the US either," he said during a discussion forum organised by the public broadcaster, WDR. Western allies lift Ukraine's restrictions on long-range weapons, says Merz

Updates and events in the War in Ukraine 2025
Last night, the Russian army used the largest number of drones against Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. This demonstrates that Russia is not willing to cease fire, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy says. "This does not make any significant military sense, but it does make significant political sense. In this way, Putin demonstrates how much he despises the world, which spends more effort on dialogue with him than on pressure," Zelenskyy said. Israel Hamas War the Widening Middle East Conflict
CAIRO (Reuters) -Hamas has agreed to a proposal by U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff for a Gaza ceasefire, a Palestinian official close to the group told Reuters on Monday, paving the way for a possible end to the war with Israel. "The proposal includes the release of ten living Israeli hostages held by Hamas in two groups in return for a 70-day ceasefire and a partial withdrawal from the Gaza Strip," the source said. The proposal also sees the release of a number of Palestinian prisoners by Israel, including hundreds serving lengthy prison terms. Trump’s ‘deep state’ jobs massacre has left US foreign policy a one-man show
About half of the NSC’s 350 staff was shown the door last Friday. The firings were described as “abrupt”, with no notice provided to the scores of seasoned foreign policy and defence experts caught up in the President’s maw. An email landed in their inboxes at 4.30pm announcing that their service was no longer required by the White House. For the moment at least, they are being transferred to other branches of Trump’s far-flung government. Trump’s ‘deep state’ jobs massacre has left US foreign policy a one-man show

Sondhi and Jatuporn Join Forces Against Thaksin's Legacy
I was glad to see Jatuporn turn his back on Thaksin and finally admit Thaksin never gave a monkey's for democracy, but to join hands with Sonthi, a right wing firebrand? A bit like Diane Abbot joining hands with Farage. Pass the sick bag, Alice.

Dyer: Israel's deadly strategy to clear Gaza will make it pariah
According to Gwynne Dyer, Israel's plan for the expulsion of the Palestinians from Gaza is now clear. 1. No food is to be allowed into Gaza. This has already taken place since early March. 2. Starving, the Palestinians will be forced south to a small piece of land near the Egyptian border. Minimal food (Netanyahu's words) will be provided there, controlled by the Israelis. This stage is beginning now. Starving, the Palestinians will cross the border into Egypt, leaving Gaza free for the Israelis and/or Trump to do as they see fit. 3. However, Egypt, fully aware of Israel's intentions will seal the border, preventing any Palestinians from crossing. With minimal food and 2 million people there, the death toll from disease and hunger could soon reach 1000 people a day. 4. Israel's closest friends and allies will condemn Israel, (already started) , even Trump who claims to hate seeing or reading about casualties of war, may act. 5. Israel may become an international pariah. Israel's deadly strategy to clear Gaza will make it pariah | London Free Press

Seems he came to his senses a bit here
Apart from Trump being the last person in the world to realise Putin has been playing him, he's also flipflopped on the sudden 50% tariff imposition on the EU. What a sad joke he is turning out to be: 'What a joke': Trump ridiculed on social media after he 'backs down' from threat Economist Justin Wolfers said, "Friday's EU tariff announcement lasted nearly the whole weekend, or 18% of a Scaramucci." Republicans against Trump wrote, "Trump backs down from his EU tariff threat. Again." "What a clown show," the group added.

While all eyes are on Gaza, another war is being fought for control of Jerusalem.
While all eyes are on Gaza, another war is being fought for control of Jerusalem. Hundreds of Israeli police officers mobilised Monday for Jerusalem Day, commemorating the city's total conquest by Israel in 1967. It’s an opportunity for Israeli nationalists to reaffirm their hold on the city – and, increasingly, for scenes of violence against Palestinians in the Old City in occupied East Jerusalem. ‘A notice of imminent destruction’: Israel’s home demolitions in East Jerusalem reach record numbers | Watch

Israel Hamas War the Widening Middle East Conflict
Israeli strikes killed at least 40 people in the Gaza Strip on Monday, including 25 in a school-turned-shelter that was struck as people slept, igniting their belongings, according to local health officials. The military said it targeted militants operating from the school. The strike on the school in the Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City also wounded more than 55 people, said Fahmy Awad, head of the ministry’s emergency service. He said a father and his five children were among the dead. Israeli strikes kill 40 in Gaza, including 25 in a school-turned shelter, medics say

Western Allies Warn Israel Over Gaza Offensive as Fragile Talks Resume in Doha
Spain’s foreign minister called on the international community to impose sanctions on Israel to end the war in Gaza, as European and Arab nations met in Madrid on Sunday to push for a ceasefire and increased humanitarian aid. The international community should look at sanctions against Israel to stop the war in Gaza, Spain's foreign minister said. Some of Israel's long-standing allies have added their voices to growing international pressure after it expanded military operations against Gaza's Hamas rulers, whose 2023 attack on Israel sparked the devastating war. Trump refuses to accept that for Netanyahu and Putin forever war is the only option
Netanyahu and his far-right cronies deny Palestinians the right to an independent state – the exact same right asserted by Israel’s founders. Likewise, Putin rejects the reality of Ukraine as a sovereign country; both project messianic, expansionist visions – of a “greater Israel” and a revived Soviet imperium. And would-be peacemakers, especially the US president, Donald Trump, fail to grasp another visceral similarity: neither actually wants lasting peace. Forever war is their preferred option, their default setting, they depend for their survival on violence. Trump refuses to accept that for Netanyahu and Putin forever war is the only option

Israel Hamas War the Widening Middle East Conflict
Nine of a doctor's 10 children have been killed in an Israeli missile strike on their home in Gaza, which also left her surviving son badly injured and her husband in a critical condition. Alaa Al Najjar, a paediatrician at Al Tahrir Clinic in the Nasser Medical Complex, was at work during the attack on her home, south of the city of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, on Friday. Microsoft Bans 'Palestine', 'Gaza' and 'Genocide' in Internal Emails Amid Israel Ties
Tech giant Microsoft is under fire after reports revealed it is blocking internal emails containing the words 'Palestine', 'Gaza', and 'genocide' — triggering backlash from employees and fuelling an already growing row over the company's ties to Israel. As tensions soar around the company's cloud services contracts with the Israeli military, staff are raising alarm bells over what they see as corporate censorship of one side of a deeply polarising issue. The censorship claims arrive on the heels of employee protests led by the internal group 'No Azure for Apartheid'. The group is calling for Microsoft to sever all business with the Israeli government and military. Microsoft Slammed For Banning 'Palestine', 'Gaza' and 'Genocide' in Internal Emails Amid Israel Ties

Western Allies Warn Israel Over Gaza Offensive as Fragile Talks Resume in Doha
Conservative MPs privately support calls by Sir Keir Starmer and the UK’s allies for Israel to cease its war in Gaza, one Tory has claimed. Mark Pritchard, Conservative MP for the Wrekin, also said he believed that the Prime Minister was on the “right side of history” and humanity, in an interview with broadcaster LBC. Speaking to LBC, Tory MP Mr Pritchard said: “Half the population of Gaza are children. They are being literally bombed to bits every single day. They are being slowly starved.
