  1. Jeez, what an idiot. Not sure you can wave away that sort of comment apart from admitting she is young and stupid.
  2. Defying Thaksin to throw him out of the party, Chalerm told Thaksin to think about the 8 cases he cleared for him.
  3. Doctors must monitor Thaksin's blood pressure constantly over the next few days. His old buddy, Chalerm, plus his son, have announced they're cutting ties with Thaksin after a conversation was leaked where Thaksin complained that the duo were nothing but trouble! Happy days are over, lol
  4. I saw Roxy in 72 at a festival in Lincolnshire. They really were something special. A shame Eno and Ferry couldn't get along.
  5. Tippers, don't worry about a clock. So long as the music gets the feet tapping and the heart singing, it's impossible to get 'old'. Look at Mick, a face of a thousand crevasses but still dancing. Reminds me of one of the greats. 2 strokes, 11 minor strokes but still singing, fragile yet strong!
  6. It took BJ 14 years to rise from the rank of Superintendent to Deputy Police Chief, whilst it only took Torsak 6 years! It's who you know, not what you know.
  7. Very sad. The behaviour of Chaiwat, from the burning down of the Karen's houses to the disappearance and almost certain murder of Billy, is an atrocity and an affront to any notion of justice.
  8. His wife is the daughter of a rich businessman in Songkhla. BJ and her were sweethearts since high school. Now his wife is urging him to leave the police force. A bit late for that.
  9. It's true his wife is heiress to a fortune but Big Joke wouldn't use his or his wife's money unless there was a return on it. Rumours surfaced a few years ago regarding his wealth as he owned so many houses. His disappearance was allegedly connected to his task of looking after a very large sum of money deposited in Singapore. Money that disappeared! And then out of the blue he was reappointed, no questions asked! Or perhaps no questions allowed.
  10. Big Joke was a protege of Prawit. Nuff said. Big Joke lost his job and disappeared for months only to be suddenly reinstated.
  11. We don't know, not having access to those who decide. Apparently the Attorney General is musing slapping him with a lese majeste charge from a speech he made in Korea a few years back. He's a bargaining chip whilst in the 'hospital' Could be used to extract more concessions from PT regarding constitutional reform.
  12. The establishment really know how to shoot themselves in the foot. How to create sympathy all round for an intelligent young woman. And it won't stop her. She's been banned already for three years from holding political office, yet she's playing a prominent role in the Progressive Movement, as Thanathorn is too.
  13. As an individual, Thaksin is an intensely dislikeable person. Solely interested in domination and amassing wealth, he had the chance after his victory in 2001, to fill his cabinet with decent folk, those who sincerely wanted to develop Thailand. Instead he filled it with fellow millionaires, some such as Suriya and Somsak remain in the cabinet today. Yes, the poor loved him because of his populist schemes, credit must be given there, but he was a terrible PM, divisive, authoritarian and arrogant. And now his daughter wants to be the leader of PT, no doubt to catch the votes of the young. Too late, the Thai people have seen the true nature of Pheu Thai, simply a vehicle to promote the Shinawatras' interests Pass the sick bag, Alice
  14. What can one say? Those on the right side of history will not forget the utter harshness of this verdict.
  15. He was an editor of Fa Deeow Kan ฟ้าเดียวกัน, a magazine for social activism, for 16 years until he founded Future Forward with Thanathorn who was a close friend from school days. Following the dissolution of FF, he moved to MF.
  16. There's a possible charge of lese majeste from a speech Thaksin made in, I believe, South Korea.
  17. So does that mean Thai migrant workers sending money home from overseas are going to be taxed?
