Correction, there is a rumor spreading at rangsit that there will no be private transport buses and some of the tickets sellers were discussing it. I am not sure if its real or not.

I don't need a laos visa as i am Asian, it seems like theres no travel for private bus after 4pm due to the protest of price hike for fuel.
I am traveling by road because i have too much time, to be honest but it seems not possible if i travel to udon by night bus and get the udon - vientiane bus to arrive at the thai embassy in laos by 11am.

I prefer to go thru Udon but I am a little unsure of the bus leaving Udon into Vientiane.
The few internet source says first bus at 8am, meaning I may get to vientiane too late to process the visa on the same day.

I will need to travel next week to Vientiane and I need some advise with the practicalities.
1. Bus from Udon Thani to Vientiane. According to all the internet sources I found, the first bus from Udon Thani to Vientiane is 8AM.
Is there any bus that leaves Udon Thani from 6AM (or earlier than 8AM?)
2. I read somewhere that Nakhon chai Air operates between Bangkok to Udon Thani - but I can't find the route on their website. Does anyone know if it's indeed running?
3, I have had horrible experience from Bangkok - Nongkhai. Does anyone knows of any good direct bus (or with very little stops)?

I enjoy traveling by Trains but I do agree that Nakhon Chai Air is very good.
I am planning to travel next week but I find this on the website Seat61: "IMPORTANT: From 9 January 2012 for several months, probably until May, SRT will be rebuilding the tracks for 52 km between Udon Thani and Nong Khai. Buses may replace trains for this section." Does anyone know if the route is affected, I am asking because it doesn't say on the internet booking site.

By thai culture, they are married.

I opened a shell company three years ago and after the first year, I didn't follow up to close it and I am still living in Thailand. As I understand from my lawyer friend, as long as the company is not making any profit - I don't have to worry.

The two man in the picture looks like twins.

According to one other thread, thirty community are still affected by flood in Bangkok. Is it listed anywhere - which communities are?

Good one, The Puea Thai would have my respect if it has nothing to do with the Shinawatras.

At one point she says Bangkok has not been affected and I never knew I am not staying in Bangkok for two years.
-
I have no trust in her, I shall wait for information from Bangkok Governor. Y.L doesn't really knows the Bangkok territory.

Thanks Frodo, it helps me understand alot more about my area at the moment.
-
Thanks Asanee, really informative for me. Shall stay out of Bangkok slightly longer than.

I don't think I will enjoy Vientiane, I have been there a couple of times but by Train. I understand from seat61 website that it may not be operating from Udon to Nongkhai.
