There is no such thing as a bad mask, even a scarf is better than nothing. Clearly some masks are better than others but even 10% effective is better than 0% effective.
What color scarf is more effective? Blue, pink, green, checkered, striped etc, etc?

I'm getting a bad feeling about this from the Aviate, Navigate, Communicate priorities aspect.
An LA Times article stated that the LAPD decided not to fly their choppers that morning as did the LA County Sheriff's Department - both due to substandard flying conditions. Juan Browne (YouTube blancoliero) has something to say about this, below.

Well, I guess 155 is better than 354, which is what I'm seeing on RTAQ right now. But 155 is still unhealthy!
Anyway, I got the Lat/Lon of Phrae and went to the NASA FIRMS (Fire Information Resource Management System) site and saw that it is in an area where there so many fires that it looks like what the Australian bush fires must have looked like (or maybe still look). Maybe you should call Coulson Aviation and get air tankers in to take care of the fires (or least scare the arsonist-growers)?

Right now the general situation in Bangkok is "Moderate/Yellow". You don't seem to understand that there are "outlier" sensors the readings of which are to be ignored in lieu of considering the majority of the sensors. Some sensors may have failed or be in an unusual, local situation. So, don't worry. Be Happy and wear a mask just in case! ????

DNA evidence? how did they have his DNA on file and know where to find him exactly?
Maybe the DNA proves that he was present at the crime scene, other evidence or
investigations or informants may have led to his arrest.
I would think that the gun, his shoes, his limp and general description were major factors. I believe he was probably turned in by someone who knew him and who had put enough together to "rat him out" (so to speak).
Was there a reward I wonder? ????

If you are a U.S. Constitutional law subject matter expert, you would know that impeachment is not a judicial court of law and does not operate under the same rules as one. This has purely been a political stunt and will go down in history as such on the face of the alleged "high crimes and misdemeanors" that the Democrats have fabricated.
Due to this effort by the Democrats to perform a soft coup w/r Trump, he will go on to get a second term and they could easily lose the House as well. There are people who thought Trump could not get elected. Are you one of them? What skin do you have in this game? I have none but can, at least, reason and analyze what the Democrats are trying to do. Just watch Nancy Pelosi try to put together a coherent sentence. Trump will not get removed and everybody knows it, including the Democrats.
This attempt to remove Trump was an action by Nancy Pelosi and her henchmen and will turn out to be "A Coup Too Far" and a stupid, delusional one at that. (if you get my drift).
Quite the opposite will happen. Due to his massive obstruction of justice, and his continued crimes and misdemeanors, he will not only lose the presidency, but the dems will gain a few more seats in the house, and gain control of the senate. It is called karma. It is called the law of just returns.
You don't even know what he is accused of according to the articles of Impeachment. It's "obstruction of Contgress", not "obstruction of justice". The other article is "abuse of power".
Educate yourself with this UK Guardian article, if that's possible. Since it's a left-wing rag you should relish it. I'm classifying you as an ignorant troll with poor US political judgment and questionable reading, research or understanding abilities.

I believe the senate and the GOP are going to pay a very heavy price for their nonsense, and their unwillingness to at least hear the evidence, come November. I think we will be looking at a democratically controlled senate, house, and executive branch this time around. And the GOP deserves that trouncing. The people are tired of the nonsense.

"Another took aim as people going without masks for not taking the outbreak seriously.
“So ignorant, so fearless, so arrogant,” another user said."
Yeah, just like most of the people in Bangkok when air pollution has been at "unheathy/red" level for most of the last two days.
The medical surgical masks worn by most (probably due to their lower cost) are not as effective against viruses (or air pollution) as the N95 or, better yet, the N100 respirator type masks that are more expensive.

They should rename the "House of Representatives" to the "House of Delusions and Impeachment". Or the "House of Trump Derangement Syndrome". Or "Pelosi's Psychotic Playground".
Historians will not remember this psychotic phase of the U.S. so-called "Representative" Republic under a Constitution favorably except as representative of the drug-addiction of many Americans.
So you dont think congress should do its vonstirutiinal duty to investigate. Got it.

I have a great idea. Instead of you encouraging people to avoid going outdoors, because of the airpocalype that you, and your astonishingly incompetent administration have helped to create, and are doing nothing to prevent, how about if you increase your activity on behalf of the Thai people, and the ex-pats living here? How about some pro-active activity for a change?
A few suggestions:
1. Govern the nation fairly. Stop protecting the elite, the crooked cops, and those in power, at all costs.
2. Govern effectively. Learn how to run an economy.
3. Start appointing people based on merit and not cronyism.
4. Allow political demonstrations as all democracies do. You claim to be a democracy. Right?
5. Stop hassling rival parties who are popular with the people. You are despised and disliked. Of course the rivals are popular.
6. Engage in proactive policy, to tackle the heinous pollution issues, and allow people to lead healthy lives, through smart and forward leaning policy.
7. Tackle water management, and the development of alternative energy.
8. Establish an exit plan. The people do not like, or respect the army. They are utterly useless.
9. Abolish the antiquated luxury taxes on products and imported wine. Allow your economy to grow without draconian limitations. You would then be able to attract the wealthy tourists you claim to be seeking. And please stop decimating the tourism sector with your incessant ranting about the evils of Westerners and your inane immigration policy.
10. Start building the nation. You are moving it backwards at an astonishing pace through your hubris and incompetence.
Shall I go on?
No. You can awaken now but try to stay indoors. ????

Bangkok is only "very unhealthy" for short periods during the year, and is rarely "hazardous"; Chiang Mai and other Thai cities get it worse. And at least Thailand is better than most cities in China and India.
Yes, but I have my own standards.. Bangkok is rarely "Good/Green". It's usually at "Moderate/yellow" or above. I consider any level of air pollution above the WHO standard (PM2. 5 not exceed 10 μg/m3 annual mean, or 25 μg/m3 24-hour mean) to be unacceptable. This WHO standard is cited in my comment in another thread HERE.
I have changed my lifestyle and living spaces and upgraded my equipment to try to keep my personal level at or below 5 μg/m3 most of the time, outdoors or indoors (1/2 the WHO guideline). A spinoff of this effort may have contributed to the fact that my incidences of seemingly regular, like clockwork colds (every six months) has been reduced to zero over the past three years.

Article:
"Particulate matter less than 2.5 micrograms per cubic metre (PM2.5) averaged 27-66mcg per cubic metre in over 50 areas, exceeding the 50mcg per cubic metre air quality standard of the department."
"Air quality guideline. Air quality guideline is an annual mean concentration guideline for particulate matter from the World Health Organization. The guideline stipulates that PM2. 5 not exceed 10 μg/m3 annual mean, or 25 μg/m3 24-hour mean; and that PM10 not exceed 20 μg/m3 annual mean, or 50 μg/m3 24-hour mean."
Thailand is right on target as usual (NOT). The books are not being cooked in Thailand. Wouldn't want to "panic" the Thai people (and others).

We shouldn't live in a country (or world) where it's necessary for children to wear such things. But unfortunately, we do. And the current government here seems to not care a whit about it.
They want to complain about the expense they incur in the medical field for uninsured farang hospital bills. How about the collective and long-term medical expense of much of the Thai population breathing in polluted air throughout their lives?
The uninsured farang part probably pales in comparison. But that's the issue they're all hot and bothered about -- not the fact that they're slowly killing their own people bit by bit.
"... --not the fact that they're slowly killing their own people bit by bit."
I agree with the vein of your post with one major exception. I would have worded the above sentence fragment as such:
... --not the fact that they're slowly killing
their own peoplethemselves bit by bit.My position is that I'm going to resist letting them take me with them w/r their essentially suicidal lifestyle. Sure, some things are beyond the control of the Thai and farang individuals, but many things are not.
Discussion of this is, perhaps, beyond the scope of this thread, but the individual decisions not to wear effective anti-pollution masks and to be willfully ignorant of the high levels of pollution in Bangkok are, IMHO, not.

Police announce measures in bid to tackle air pollution

"4 Coordinate with related agencies in enforcing laws against industrial factories that cause air pollution as well as those who illegally burn garbage, forests and crop fields."
There must be a lot of legal burning going on. /sarc
