Coming from the Shinawatra family who between Thaksin and the other family members have many Billions of bhat stashed away,of course there is no need for Panic, they are probably capitalising on the present exchange rate!
Who said don't Panic?
if you answered Monty Python? go to the top of the class.
It was actually Cpl Jones from Dad's Army.
On reflection,I think you could be right there!
Mr Mannering!!!!
Captain Mannering to you, same rank as Chalerm.

But it isnt just condos in BKK, CM, PT that will be the problem as I said I live outside the main centres and see blocks of 'town houses', one within a 100m of us where there are 20, 2 story 1 bedroom units, they are advertising them now for sale at 1mill B each.
Many of the new ve hickles I see around cost more than that and I doubt many of the proud owners have paid cash for them.

Seems to me there is a lot of debt out there both personal and national.
I see a load of new vehicles, no just Govt sponsored 100k jobs but bigger SUV types and wonder how many have been bought on some kind of loan.
In the little place I live 2 loan Co's have turned up and opened offices in the last couple of months so there must be business for them even in competition with all the banks, or are they giving loans to people who have been refused by the banks?
Even here there are new places being built while older ones remain empty. just yesterday the Mrs came home and told me she had been offered first option on a couple of houses, one quite new house where the renters hadnt paid for a few months and the owner has given them 2 months to pay or leave, Price 400kb
The other a new house not yet complete on 200Sq wa of land where the person building it has run out of money and wants to sell to get their money back, Price 700kb.
On the national side the 300b thing has yet to show just what it will do but assuming tax is on a % of earnings it should return the Govt more income tax, but then I hear they have given the rich some tax breaks so possibly that will ballance out. What that increase is spent on will also have an influance.
If I understand correctly the 100kb on new cars has yet to be paid out, I doubt all the 'tablets' have been paid for, then there is the increasing rice mountain, etc.
We are told the Govt will borrow another 2.2 trillion B and the lady in charge (on Tele with a big smile) said the national debt was not as big as some countries and was 'manageable' whatever that means. And not as big as some countries like the USA for instance?
We are also told that investment is pouring in to the country because of good returnes but the interest rates on TD.s have dropped in the last few months from (SCB) 3.85% for 22 months to 2.75% for 5 months, Interst rates are much higher in other much safer countries like NZ and OZ so why come here?
So where are the good returnes or is this all speculation type short term investment, stock market etc. Yea I know Toyota are building here but what incentives have they been offered?
Found out many years ago that being in debt is not a good thing but I suspect an increasing number of people are doing just that, and the country also.

I note from the origional post that the charges filed against Tarit were done on legal grounds with the laws he is alleged to have broken stipulated.
If indeed he has broken the several laws and acted outside his authority then I see no reason why the charges should not be accepted by the court.
If the case is accepted he will have to defend himself according to the law.
That being the case 'Thacksin wanted me to' will not be good enough.

"The only one who is guilty of ordering killings is your hero Khun Thaksin the organisor and funder of the whole red shirt riots." This is a totally unsubstantiated and bigoted statement. (Check the definition of bigotry - it fits)
Well you should know about bigotry, try reading your own posts.
Perhaps you could comment on the rest of my post, like the present PM's statement for instance? and how it fits in with Khun Abisit's actions in putting down the red riots.

From the beginning of last year to date, the baht has appreciated about 5-6 per cent, while South Korea's won strengthened 9 per cent, he said. The Philippine peso appreciated 7 per cent, while the Singapore dollar and Malaysian ringgit appreciated 5-6 per cent.
Thats less than some other regional currencies?
I just checked and see that the NZ $ has risen against the Baht since I last transfered money to TL.
So what has the Baht risen against?

the school is run according to the Muslim system with security provided by other agencies, not the military.
Regardless of that:
The meeting also blamed the killing on security authorities.
RIP the good teacher and may those who commit these dirty acts rot in hell.

"Thawil said DSI chief Tarit Pengdit could not escape responsibility either, because Tarit was also on the CRES panel"If I understand correctly Tarit was on the committee that recomended the actions to be taken against the red rioters.
If this is indeed true then he must have had prior knowledge and inside information on all the actions taken to uphold the law.
The minutes of the meetings of that committee should show if he voted for or against actions to be taken.
If he voted in favour then surely he is just as guilty of anything he charges Khun A & S with.
If Tarit was selected by the Dems and now he works for Thaksin..its only reasonable to conclude that Thaksin knows exactly what went on at the CRES meetings, who was present and who gave what orders.Thats why Mark and mate are being charged with unlawful killings because they signed off on the deal.In return as with top army officers, Tarit will escape prosecution. Thaksin stitches them up again
Good to see that you realise Tarit works for Thaksin and not the present Govt, or are they the same thing?
But then isnt the DSI supposed to be an impartial agency and not an employee of a convicted crim on the run?
Hope that bit of realisation means you are starting to wake up and will not just continue to follow the red propaganda line.
Please take into consideration the present PM's recent public statement that 'it is the Govts duty to uphold the law'.
That being the case (and she said so) then it was the job of Abhisit and his Govt to rid the city and the country of the red shirt (and men in black) gang who were attempting to overthrow a legal Govt and were shooting at the army and lobbing grenades, acts which were clearly breaking the law.
The only one who is guilty of ordering killings is your hero Khun Thaksin the organisor and funder of the whole red shirt riots.
And incidentaly you admit that with your last 5 words.

The English language has some wonderfully anthropomorphic collective nouns for the various groups of animals.
We are all familiar with a:
Herd of cows, Flock of chickens, School of fish, Gaggle of geese.
However, less widely known is. A Murder of crows, An Exaltation of doves, And, presumably because they look so wise: A Congress of owls.
Now consider a group of Baboons.
They are the loudest, most dangerous, most obnoxious, most viciously aggressive and least intelligent of all primates.........
And what is the proper collective noun for a group of baboons?
Believe it or not ……. A Parliament. YEP....A PARLIAMENT OF BABOONS!
Pretty much explains everything doesn't it?

Surely Tarit must have known the risks he took in bringing the charges in the first place.
Or is he counting on the charges being thrown out by a court in order to clear himself?
Whatever, the rewards must be great or if they have something on him it must be very serious.

I thought you had to have certain qualifications to teach?
Possibly Chalerm's son could be sent south to teach after all he has been pronounced qualified to teach police.

The government has vowed to balance the budget by 2017
Do they have a mandate to govern till 2017?
Or is she counting on winning another election?
If there must be another election in that time and PT lost no doubt they would be saying the new Govt cant ballance the budget but we could have if you had returned us.

Isn't Hun Sen getting his ex Thai PMs mixed up here?
No.
Abhisit has one tired and failed argument using Nationalism as a way to beat the democratically elected government. Let it go son. How is he still leader of the opposition anyway?
Interesting to see such support for the views of Hun Sen, eliminator of political opponents and the rule of the monarchy and corrupt de facto dictator of Cambodia.
Curiously Abhisit and Hun Sen both faked their military papers although for somewhat different reasons...... the murderous Abhisit to teach soldiering and Hun Sen to get actively involved with Pol Pot's jolly band, the Khmer Rouge.
You seem a litle confused BB first off the Army said Abhisit did nothing wrong then the Minister of Defence said he did---Politics
Calling him murderous is just following the red shirt BS. Discussed on other threads.
Hun Sen in fact fled to Vietnam to escape Pol Pot's 'killing fields' as they have been called, then when Vietnam came in and kicked Pol Pot out he returned and took charge.
Cambodian history is very interesting from way back to the present and well worth reading.
However the thread is about someone interfearing in another countrys politics and I would suggest that is exactly what Hun Sen's statement is, an interfearance in Thai Politics.

Could a statement like that coming out of nowhere without any real justification point to the oppisite being true.
We all know Thaksin was an advisor to H S till he publicly quit the job, but then in private?
It is not coming out of nowhere. If you have been reading the Thai news over the past year, you will have seen the continual attempts to blame Hun Sen and Cambodia. The statement made by Hun Sen certainly puts Abhisit in the hot seat as there is no denying that the Democrats did have those meetings and negotiations.
And Thaksin in that time has had no meetings with his old friend and previous employer?
-
And will she be given bail?
Probably not you have to commit murder for that.

A simple thing to change right?
With a birth cert to prove the correct date
A 'sorry someone made a simple mistake' would be easy you would think but it seems not for that would be admitting imperfection.
Hope he and anyone else with the same problem can find an official who is willing to do the correct thing
Yes they are out there, not all Thais are, all Thais are, all Thais are as some posters seem to think.

Seems everyone is so caught up wiyh the wonderful idea of tiolets at bus stops they missed:
Pongsapat said the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration under his leadership would not suffer from floods.
Toilets should be simple for someone who can stop the rain.
Ah but hang on thats not the city thats only the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.
The rest will be flooded as usual.

Correct. BTW, is that Hun Sen in the picture playing soccer with Red shirt leader Nathawut?
Red Shirts love Hun Sen, I guess because he embodies the pro-democracy, anti-coup spirit of the UDD.1,000 Thai red-shirts enter Cambodia to watch a Khmer-Thai soccer game...There were signs saying "Thaksin, We Miss You", "We Love Hun Sen" and "We Love Cambodia".Wasnt there also a statement from PT sources that "Thailand needs to get closer to the Cambodian model of democracy"'?
A dictatorship.
No prizes for guesing who they had in mind for the dictator.

Fine as long as this does set a precedent and the red leaders are brought to justice, the list of charges against them should fill several pages.
However there could be a lot of breath holding to do before then as it has taken 4 years for this one to appear.

They want to train them to find explosives and send them to the south.
Or drugs even or have they got dogs for that?
District Head's Decision Biased, Unfair: Kaeng Krachan Park Chief

Posted
Now there is one official with balls, one who is willing to stand up against the cops and others and do his job of protecting the National Park.
Good on you Chaiwat Limlikhit-aksorn if there were more like you the country would be a better place.
Me, I will now go to the Kaeng Krachan national park web site and see if I can post in his support.
