There are plenty of people that do not have this amount of cash that they can transfer to an Indonesian bank but have a sizeable pension or other income. Why exclude those people? Also people who can deposit $128,000 are not necessarily going to spend any more than those who can only afford $50,000.

I did my first online report just over a year ago and it was my first 90 day report after getting the extension in September 2021. I have done every report since online including my last report which was also the first report after getting an extension. So there is no such rule. I think that there may be some rule about the first 90 day report after entering Thailand, but I am not sure about that.

Iran executed second prisoner by public hanging.
loong replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Have you any idea how ridiculous you sound. As I stated, the guy was convicted of waging war against God. Waging war against God can be anything that these religious nutters want it to be. So they can convict anyone they like and sentence them to death. -

It depends on how ridiculous the law is! He was convicted of "waging war against God." which carries the death sentence. Did they call God as a witness? Well, of course not. Do you honestly think that he got a fair trial? -
Many years ago there was a mange ridden dog in our area. Hardly any hair left. I saw that it started sleeping on a pile of discarded cement bags. Incredibly, its hair grew back and it looked quite healthy. So maybe cement dust is a good cure.

I had already answered that question. Quote is in the next post.

They did not go home with their tails between their legs after the 2018 semi-final. Only 4 teams can achieve that and it is something to be proud of. Funny, I must have missed all the interviews where England players and manager have spouted about how great they are. They may have confidence, but they know when they have a tough game coming up and have often said as much. If they do go out in the game against France, they can return to England with heads held high. There is certainly no shame in losing to France, so the England team will not be returning with their tails between their legs. Concerning the Euros final, England don't have a great record with penalty shoot-outs and again, there is no shame in losing to Italy. They got to the final after all and only lost on penalties! England can be proud of their performance so far in this World Cup as can other teams. USA and Japan should be proud of themselves as well.

Owner selling my condo I am renting
loong replied to Hindy's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
I had never met my landlord as the condo office sorted out the contract etc. I was notified that the landlord wanted to do an inspection, but he was actually showing a prospective buyer. Some weeks later I had a note pinned to my door. The landlord had sold the unit and I had 5 days to vacate! So yes, some buyers will expect you to get out, whether you want to stand firm because you have a contract, well that's up to you. In my case, I still had 2 months of my contract to run and I couldn't believe my luck. I was looking to move because the noise situation there had become practically unbearable. Of course, if I had broken the contract, there is no way that I would get my deposit back. So 5 days later I was in my new place and I got the full deposit back. -
I think that the confusion with roundabouts is because there are so few of them in Thailand. At a crossroads with no defined right of way, you must (or should) give way to the left. Many Thais think that this also applies on roundabouts, but it is the opposite, give way to the right.

Alcohol sales ban for end of Buddhist Lent Day on Monday, October 10th
loong replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Why would they have closed at midnight on Saturday? Awk Pansa is today (Monday). -
I doubt that any treaty says that they have to give asylum to people escaping from France! Mind you, they should be deported back to France, not Rwanda.

60-70% Of Thais Have Been Infected With Covid: Expert
loong replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
In the cooler months at the turn of the year a lot of the people that I know contracted covid. The official figures didn't reflect this upsurge in cases at all. I think that 60-70% is most likely a reasonable figure. The official figure of 6% of the population is complete hogwash! -
Former Tenant Behind Looting Of Koh Samui Luxury Hotel
loong replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
I was wondering the same. From the original article.... https://thainewsroom.com/2022/09/05/6-held-for-looting-384-room-luxury-hotel-on-koh-samui/ .....it appears that works were completed early 2020 at the latest. Lease was transferred late 2021. That does suggest that the works were paid for by the previous leaseholder. -

I believe that a foreigner can inherit the rights to land, but it must be sold/disposed of within a year.
