Or does that only go one way?
Hezbollah do not need to defend themselves against the IDF. IDF retaliates when Hezbollah launches missiles into Israel, If Hezbollah didn't attack Israel, Israel will not defend themselves.

In January, it was announced that local authorities should take action against excessive noise levels from entertainment venues. As per usual, completely ignored!

It seems rather pointless. I drink from a glass; if people are drinking from a bottle ( which personally I dislike) then more often than not it is covered by one of those polystyrene foam sleeve things.
in my experience, very few people drink beer from a bottle if you exclude foreigners. Most Thais buy large bottles which those "condoms" aren't available for. Most Thai bars, you cannot even buy small bottles.

I keep seeing this term "Soft Power" recently.
To be honest, I have no idea what it means and had to look it up, but still not clear. I just cannot see how these pants can be defined as "soft power"!
Can somebody please explain?

If I remember correctly that requirement was introduced in Pattaya about 20 years ago.

A bit over 50,000 Baht/month may sound good for a Thai, but it seems very low for an experienced worker on an oil rig and exploitation!

If i was given a price and rejected it because I considered it too high, it would not even occur to me that the person may threaten my life.
If you want to buy something in a shop and the assistant tries to overcharge you, will you meekly pay up in case the assistant attacks you with a knife?

I think that flyingtiger means that he pulled an all-night drinking session or started drinking very early in the morning. That being the reason for being under the influence of alcohol.

What is your point? Why mention that this is the 2nd Brit this month?
Are you implying that all Brits are child molesters?
You know that there are child molesters of all races and creeds, do you?
There are black child molesters. Would you dare imply that all blacks are child molesters?

They warned her that she would have to spend the night in jail at 500 baht (US$14) per night if she couldn’t pay immediately
Does that mean that she would have had to pay 500 Baht per night she spent in prison or that her fine would be reduced by 500 Baht per night?

Wonder what set this off. Probably some nonsense confrontation, where the 'youths' felt they lost face, or something.
It is only a single young person, not a group.

The physical assault against the 42 year old Thai man was reported to the Phutta Phratheep Lang Suan Rescue Team at about 4am on January 21. Rescuers rushed to the scene on Beach Road
In the photo it looks like his hands are still tied and it is daylight.

The court should not be commended. They should be questioned why it has taken so long, why wasn't it immediately thrown out?
It was well known and could be easily checked that ITV was no longer any sort of media company and had not been for many years. If I remember correctly, the shares are worthless and it is not even possible to sell them.

It is strange that whenever something like this is reported the majority of posters assume that the person is guilty.

I've seen them being made on soi Ko Pai and railway road between HuaYai and Klang, have a look.
Apparently you have to register the motorbike the same time as the sidecar, so probably won't be legal but maybe police don't bother enforcing it
I remember around about 20 years ago, Pattaya police announced that they are illegal if used to carry passengers and any foreigner caught riding one with passengers will be prosecuted. Not locals, just foreigners!
They should be registered but can only be registered to carry goods, not passengers in the sidecar.

Fortunately, this kind of thing is fairly uncommon with regard to foreigners getting robbed here. Let's hope it remains that way.
I agree, especially when they use weapons as in this case.
