an abnormally large number of people i know are all sick right now. myself included. had a scratchy throat the other morning and within a few hours turned into a nasty cold. sniffles runny nose not much else. i have been overdosing on tiffy.
anyone else in the same boat ?
Tiffy tablets contain 500 mq paracetamol.
What do you mean by overdosing?
You should take a maximum of 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours and no more than 8 tablets in a 24 hour period. If you overdose you are risking liver damage which can be fatal.

These warnings seem to appear on a weekly basis nowadays.
Is this just so that they must be correct some of the time? -

I agree with you - to a point.
I find it annoying when I speak Thai and they reply in English when their English is extremely poor and I find it very difficult to understand what they are saying.
I am far from fluent in Thai, so if their English is better than my Thai, I am happy to speak English with them.
If they ask if they can practice their English with me, I am happy to comply.
Please tell me what makes you think that I am the worst after reading my post.

I used to go to the Winter Gardens in Margate quite often to see bands.
The Smiths performed there in 1985 or thereabouts.
I wasn't overly enthusiastic about going to see them, but I was really glad that I did.
It was a great night.

Only when the smell of 1848 is in the air will things change
The company is basically defunct.
It is not possible to sell the shares as they are not tradeable.- 2

Yes let's not forget the 41st country in the list of arrivals with a whopping 30,704 arrivals year to date June. ????????
You seemed to have completely missed the obvious fact that my reply was tongue in cheek.
The post that I was replying to listed "Quality" tourists and that post also included a bit of tongue in cheek.
Considering that there were so few arrivals from Kuwait, it is amazing how often Kuwaitis have been in the news recently with their antics in Pattaya.
That is why when someone listed certain counties as "Quality" tourists I replied
"Don't forget Kuwait!"
Do you understand now?

So the price has gone up 2 baht a kilo (actually, on the figures given, its gone up 2.33). What's the average serving size of a plate of rice? Somewhere between 100-200g? She could add 1 baht to the price of each dish and make an extra profit from it.
What a non-story.
When was the last time that you saw an increase of 1 Baht for a meal?
With the rice price increase, it probably means an additional cost of 20 or 30 Satang per meal, but they would increase the cost to the customer by 5 or even 10 Baht.

OK by me. send them back where they came from to rebuild their own country.
I agree with you.
Conditions look better than a lot of Brits have to live in and if I was a refugee I would be grateful for the accommodation.
Why should the government continue to pay 800 pounds of taxpayers' money every week to house them in hotels?

Thai logic is a wonderous thing. When you can't sell (Export ban); put the price up. When I studied economics many moons ago if there was a supply glut the price went down. Not here!
There isn't a supply glut.
I guess that India's export ban has pushed up global prices and created more demand for Thailand's rice. If Thailand exports more rice, there is less supply for the domestic market

I don't think that anyone would pay 117 baht for a kilo of white rice!
Prices may be rising but I bet the farmers that harvest around November will see prices for paddy rice fall again

It rings a bell with me as well.
I seem to remember something about being able to sue someone for having sex with your wife. That would have been over 20 years ago though.

Concerned citizens have shared a 1-minute 39-second video revealing a group of foreign men, aged around 20-30 years, dressed in black shirts and long black pants, brandishing guns and threatening a group of international tourists at a viewpoint in Pattaya, Chonburi province, Thailand.
The men, resembling a Kuwaiti tourist group of more than 10 individuals, ordered the tourists to kneel while pointing their weapons at their heads, reported Daily News.
The Daily News article states that a single foreign male dressed in black threatened a group of more than 10 tourists (possibly from Kuwait) with a firearm. He made them sit in a row.
Nothing about 10 foreign men brandishing guns

What came first..
The residents or the bomb factory? From the updated article a few posts above yours.
QuoteThe governor said there are no other firework warehouses in the district of which officials are aware and the one where the accident occurred had not yet been authorized for use as a warehouse as it was newly built.
So I guess that the residents were there first.

The 800K does not need to come from abroad.
If doing an extension based on income it does.

Years ago, my GF at the time co-signed a loan for a friend who was buying a pick-up. I told her that she should not do it as when the friend defaults, she will be responsible for paying back the loan. She didn't believe me as she had no idea what she was signing.
The problem is that many people are very naïve about debt and are incapable of doing very simple mathematics. The amount of people that struggle to survive on their income will borrow money that they cannot possibly repay. It is very simple to work out that if every month, at the end of the month, all of the person's earning have been spent on necessities, there will be nothing left to service a loan. Yet they will take out a loan and seem to believe that the additional x thousands of Baht that they need to repay each month will magically appear from somewhere!

Very poor factual reporting. The scumbag is the boyfriend of the deceased's 31 year old Aunt (he is 29 years old). She had been living with them since being abandoned by her own family, and was apparently always in trouble. This occasion they caught her stealing dietary supplements that they were packing for sale, so he decided to beat her to death with a baseball bat.
The Thai word for niece, laan saao, confusingly, is also the Thai word for granddaughter.

I would hope not as it would be wrong!
4.5 million kilogrammes equals 4,500 Tonnes.
