  1. I swapped the ecu out to APITECH ecu-5000 baht

    - Changed the cans to Tsukugi racing cans-3800 baht

-Changed the Air Filter to K&N filter

The bike runs great, has more torque and goes to a higher rpm range in all gears. The top speed is also higher(around 130-140). The only hassle are, a borderline acceptibility of decibel level, popping sound sometimes on deceleration.

  2. The monk rehabs like Wat Tham Krabok and similar that have been going since the 1950s, with their intense purge-vomiting and serious hardship treatment, is the way to go. If this guy is in Thailand for rehab that is where he should be. The expensive comfortable clinics are not what everyone needs.

The monks rehab is pretty much free, except for donations or small fees. The incentive to quit is that the cathartic shock of purge vomiting, that puts a sort of permanent mental block associated with the drug part of their life and the resulting purge experience, which is permanently ingrained in the person's subconscious. There is a fail rate but the secret is to go back until it works. I know people who did the purge vomiting when they kicked heroin here in 1984. I went up to visit them at the temple gates before and after treatment and it was like meeting a different person.

He already went to Wat Tham Krabok a few years back and left after 3 days. From what I remember reading, you can only go to Wat Tham Krabok once. If you relapse, you break the Buddhist oath of swearing off intoxicants and can not enter the program a second time.
  3. I have not! However, why would you buy a guitar online and take the risk of buying something defective. Guitars, travel with great difficulty. The temperature and pressure changes, affect the wood and the neck. String tension should be slack. The humidity on arrival would be a factor as well. On top of this, delivery, customs, theft and damages would be otheer issues to worry about!

  4. All it takes to appreciate where we live in Thailand, (in this case Pattaya)is a trip to our home country or just to another country for holiday. Many things I take for granted here (such as ATM machines at every Seven/Eleven;in expensive massages; beer for a $1.50 US dollar; Thai food or Western food; and a more relaxed atmosphere is sometimes taken for granted. Once I go on holiday or back home, I am happy to be back and the irritations seem to be wiped away (for awhile that is!)

I agree, I went to Bali for 2 weeks and apart from the surfing and Ullu Watu, I thought it was crap....But everyone praises Bali as the island of the Gods...I think the Gods left a long time ago. Massages were cheap but everything else was more expensive and of inferior quality...If only Pattaya had good surf and a clean beach....it would be more manageable.

  5. Raro, if I was you, I would look into the new PCX coming out. It is a much smoother and better ride, although more expensive. They are also bigger and more comfortable the Nuouvos or Clicks. The price tag is slightly bigger but you do get a lot more bike for your money and it could last you, hassle free for many years to come. I think you would score some points with the ball and chain as well. Happy riding! The leg over on the Nuouvo and limited leg space on the click becomes bothersome in the long run.

  6. I have been on the premier 3mb/1mb package for the last 4 yrs, although it doesn't seem to exist anymore! I have experienced a slight increase in download transfers in the last month and I am highly suspicious they just put me on the normal 6mb/1mb package(590 baht) for the price of Premier 1390 baht. I would also like to change but everytime I inquire they state that for farang Premier is better! WPFflags.gif

  7. Not that I go there (except when I'm traveling) but another thing that surprises me is why there isn't even one Starbucks in Jomtien, when there are a number in Pattaya.

You answered in your statement. People aren't traveling in Jomtien. For the most part, they aren't hungover farang sex tourist either. If they are, they are from Denmark of some other gay country. Take away those two segments and what's left for a Starbucks?

The most important off topic news flash is that there is a Popeyes Fried Chicken in the domestic food court at BKK. I've never seen a Popeyes in Thailand prior to this one last week. It was very good but no red beans and dirty rice. It would work in Pattaya! Much better tasting chicken than KFC.

There was a Popeyes' 15 yrs ago in Royal Garden ground floor, opposite Sizzlers' ( the old AU BON PAIN unit..which is now a restaurant).

  8. I need gum surgery and would like to know of any recommended Drs. who specialise in periodontal treatment of gum disease. I have heard only good things about the Bangkok Dental Hospital in Soi 49. I have only had bad luck with about 12 Dentists in Pattaya over 15 yrs but if there are any recommendable ones, I would listen to customers feedback. Moreover this is not just dental treatment like a cavity or root canal, it is specialised gum treatment and possibly surgery. Thank you for your feedback, I would like to avoid getting butchered and fleeced for shoddy quality work. Money is secondary, quality of work is vital when it comes to teeth! :jap:

  9. There used to be a french kindergarden at the end of walking street(no joke!) towards the Bali Hai Pier. As others have posted, you can make a very nice life for yourself in the citys' surrounding areas. Most of the Pattaya bashers don't really know the area outside the city limits and judge it solely on walking street and beach road....Two areas, I rarely venture to after 14 yrs of living here. I must admit, I just came back from Chiang Mai a week ago and I was planning on making a move there. Its' a great place BUT the air pollution, floods and the fact that it so far away from everything...is a burden. I am sure you will appreciate the conveniences Pattaya has to offer with or without the bars. Bonne chance et au plaisir!

reason for edit- spellcheck is hung over!

  10. I did this just a week or so ago.

There is a little bit of hiking in between a couple of the platforms. It is through the jungle on narrow muddy paths with roots and mud puddles across it. And it zig zagged uphill for a bit too. It isn't far but it is uneven. There was also a small steep spiral staircase around a tree trunk to get down from one platform to the next.

You should be fine on the zip lines though and I am sure that the guides will let you take it easy if you prefer. If you do go be sure to pull your feet up before you land and stand gently otherwise you could get a jolt to your knees from the abrupt landing.

The waterfall walk at the end would be out but it would still be nice to sit in the pergola area at the bottom, you still see the waterfall just don't hike to the top.

Any other questions I am happy to help out if I can.

I am thinking of doing it tomorrow, how much did they charge you for it and where did you buy the tickets?
