Seven sexual assaults on women per day in Thailand – report
Gsxrnz replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
How do you know society has achieved gender equality? When the workplace accidental death rate is the same for men as women. Personally, I think this is one area that definitely needs a Marxist quota system to achieve an equitable outcome. -

Do You Speak Thai To Farang Wives If Farang Doesn't Understand?
Gsxrnz replied to Neeranam's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I tend to listen and stay shtum. Its surprising what Thai women tell each other (answer below) after they've concluded the obligatory 90 minute discussion about what they ate yesterday, what they ate today, and what they will eat tomorrow, the last lottery draw, the next lottery draw, their cheap-charlie husband, their best friend's chep-charlie husband, ad nauseum. Answer: Not very much of interest. -

Maybe you should ask the dealer you're buying from what his preference is for receiving the balance. -
OP - get the meter checked for accuracy. My condo with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, three adults and four a/c units cumulatively runs about 35 hours of a/c per day at 27 degrees. PEA bill is 3k to 3.5k baht per month depending on season. I won't be getting my meter checked for accuracy.

Thailand captivated by lottery craze as March 1 draw nears (video)
Gsxrnz replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I believe the underground lottery is way bigger than the government lottery, probably 4x or 5x. And the payout is much higher. Match the last two numbers exactly: pays 1,000 baht per 12 baht wagered. Match the last three numbers exactly: pays 500 baht per 1 baht wagered -
Car insurance class 1 & 2 & 2+ what is the difference?
Gsxrnz replied to villageidiotY2K's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
My understanding is that Class 1 is the only class that covers you for no third party collision. i.e you drive over a cliff, they will repair or replace. Class 2 and you're on your own. -
World Nomads will issue a policy whilst overseas. Great coverage and great service. I claimed for a motorcycle accident and they reimbursed me surgeon's fees of 300K baht in about 5 days.

Slight nod and a Kap at the 7/11 or restaurant. Slight Nod, a casual wat-dee-Kap, and a one-handed wai at chest height to friends of my missus. Although the really attractive ones might get two hands. A sa-wat-dee-khrup (with the R) and a one-handed wai at chest height to the the missus' older relatives, a look of indignant scorn to the younger relations. A sa-wat-dee-khrup tee-rak and a two-handed wai below the chin to my Mia. A sa-wat-dee-khrup and a two-handed wai at forehead height to the boss of my regular bar - she allows me to rack up a weekly bin and gives me a frequent flyer discount.

Thai drivers don't park their vehicles. They simply cease driving.

The signage which originally said the changes were from Feb 15 have now been overwritten and the effective date is now March 1st. It's logical and expedient that if the sign is being ignored, change the sign.

Because water in Thailand is able to defy gravity. Seriously, capillary action of water defies gravity. That's how plants and trees absorb water from the soil and transport it to their uppermost leaves and branches. Hold a sheet of tissue paper vertically and gently touch the surface of a glass of water and see what happens - that's capillary action, and your concrete is the tissue paper. Your paint problem is a combination of poor paint preparation, and poor building design that allows water to wick from the outer wall when it rains. Repaint everything correctly, and install a wicking barrier to prevent it happening again.

Teen mum caught on CCTV locking toddler in dog cage

The kid probably has more square footage in relation to body size than many expat's studio condos. -
I would say the paint job is very old, and guaranteed to have been done incorrectly. The paint lifting and bubbling is indicative of poor surface preparation. The "professional" painter probably didn't even clean the surface, let alone seal or prime anything. The rainwater is wicking inwards from the balcony above. The capillary action of the water has got under the paint and into the concrete, and is wicking much further inwards than any rainwater would actually reach. Only solution is a full strip down, allow any residual moisture to dry out, correctly seal and paint. You might want to seal the gap of that outer border area with silicone, and attach an aluminium strip that will prevent further wicking.
