I used to have a tradition (in jest, of course) that every 4th I'd have to say something good about the US and something bad about the UK. With BoJo and MMarkel I figure you guys across the pond deserve a break. A good thing about the US: Charmin Ultra-Soft toilet paper available in nearly every supermarket.

A country in the throes of an epidemic. The mass idiocy epidemic. Gives me the creeps whenever I see one of these. Big truck. Big flag. Small brain. Oh, and probably a gun somewhere. For those of you who have been out of the country for years, there's a lot of these on the road. The word patriot has been redefined. And then there are the sh_t heels in gov't and media who are provoking all this. And you'll want a nice decal for the tailgate But chin up, a lot of people who have friends/relatives caught up in this are saying they are sick and tired of "this politics stuff." Sometimes it's as easy as changing the channel on television or keeping off of social media. Maybe there will be de-programming groups for them, like there were for the Moonies some years ago. Keep the faith.

Jorma Kaukonen of Jefferson Airplane, and Hot Tuna. And his hopalong buddy Jack Cassidy. And for something acoustic:

"I wasn't going to kill him, I just wanted him to think I would so I waved a loaded gun at him and made threats." Pretty solid defense there. The man fired his gun injuring the motorcyclist and fired further shots in the air. In total four shots were fired Anyone want to bet they find more than one slug in him? But then there must be famous money that goes with the famous name and into brown cloth pockets.

Adverse inference. By refusing to answer on the grounds you may incriminate yourself you are implying that you may have committed a crime. By seeking a pardon it means you know you need one, but does not qualify as a confession. In either case this is like the old situation of the police searching you and while they find no controlled substances they do find a packet of rolling papers. This tells them that if they look harder they just might find something. "Mr Flynn, do you believe in the peaceful transfer of power?" "FIFTH!" Myself, I am of little hope. As much as it pains me to say, what hope I have hinges on Liz C. I think she is the impetus behind the hearings, and I suspect she is prodding Benny in the ribs to keep things moving. The Dem politicians seem to have this attitude that victory means losing by a smaller than expected margin. They can learn a lot from the Lincoln Project. Here it is from my favorite Democrat: They fight hard. And we don't fight like that. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lincoln_Project Keep the faith, baby.

Does anyone else remember the infamous passport stamp Malaysia would use that would cause Singapore to deny entry? S uspected H ippie I n T ransit Even though it seems they no longer use it, Occidental guys with long hair can get a hard time from Malaysian authorities for no other reason. I met one US guy who immigration wouldn't let on a flight to mainland Malaysia from the eastern part, the woman at the desk citing all sorts of problems with his passport (one must go through immigration when flying between the two parts of Malaysia, go figure). He simply got on a different line and another agent sent him right through like the rest of the travelers (maybe the woman was jealous of his hair ???? ). Occasionally things from a forgotten era crop up in newspapers like hippies carrying venereal disease, being drug addicts, seducing their daughters, oh, and being communists -- every so often there will be articles about the red menace that you would think were written in 1967 (maybe they were!). A little off-topic but pertinent to liberal attitudes: regardless of the Malaysian gov't's Islamic anti-gay stance, there are a lot of people who appear to be openly gay, especially in the population centers like KL and Penang. I haven't been there in some years, but it looked like Penang was becoming Malaysia's San Francisco; this seemed to start when the city got World Heritage status.

What is the fair price for premium cannabis in Thailand?
bendejo replied to Wuvu2's topic in Thailand Cannabis Forum
In Oregon USA, where it's easier to find a dispensary than a gas station, there is one set of stores that look like high-end jewelers, all the stuff pre-packaged in elegant little packets and prices are roughly 3x than most other places. And of course the more you pay the better the quality, right? hooch.mp4 -
It's "tin tu mutt." Please use proper Thai in the future.

Hey, that's what I say! (but I use convenience stores, can't ignore Plaid Pantry etc). It's like cosmic or somethi... oops! dropped my bong!

The Federal gov't should make it a felony to make accusations of any sort of voter monkey business without viable standing. If that person themselves ever ran in an election, even for something like the dogcatcher for Cowsass, Wisconsin, their own electoral history will be opened up for investigation. Sorry folks, "I just know!" doesn't make it. https://www.politico.com/news/2022/06/15/gop-commission-refuses-to-certify-new-mexico-primary-vote-00039771 Miss Vickie's quote sounds a lot like the demands people were making to see Obama's birth certificate because they "don't know who he is." I don't recall hearing similar for DT, W, et al.

Tom Verlaine of Television, this queued up for the guitar break

Roy Buchanan He can get a little churchy sometimes, I've had to edit the occasional sermon out of his stuff.

Classic example of, what was called decades ago, The Peter Principle: a person rises to the level of their incompetence. And then there is the credo "the boss is never wrong." It'll be interesting to see where Miss Cassidy goes with her career -- will she be somewhere in politics? Will she still be a conservative? I think it's pretty obvious no one will give her a job as an aide to a politician.

This sounds like a "too cool to go above 14th Street" claim. Haven't heard one of those in a long time. Ohio?

Hey, I think I knew her. Was her name Donna? I lived around there in the 1970s. I married my gf after her mother caught us going at it. I moved to that neighborhood. It was there I first saw a guy (a civilian, not a celebrity) get the Tom Jones treatment, meaning the girls would throw themselves at him. And these were hard-to-get Bronx girls. Even my wife/gf was affected (she was PR, that's all I'll say). Of course I didn't get it. He had that olive-skinned Italian look. Every girl knew he was a real air hole as well as lousy in the sack, but still the whispers "ooo, there's Tommy!" I came to the realization that if I could figure what is causing these women to behave this way life could be real sweet for me. I never did. But I did move to California a few years later, where things were not so difficult.

Yeah, with neighborhood girls in NYC 'no' can sometimes mean "you're going to have to try harder than that, buster!" This can lead to culture shock when venturing west of New Jersey. Thanks for the info re the Tibetian museum, I don't think I've seen any sort of media mention of it. I think it involved 2 buses after the ferry.
