Bullshit; 10-15% at most and even then if they tighten up the long term Visa laws more than they already have.

Funny you should say that, I an In Nz for a few months and just got the news from the local watering hole.

many of my long time friends are looking to go elsewhere due to the new visa requirements on income.

Many have been paying the agent fee but will not be able to do this in the future.

Because of this I would hazard a guess as to the future outcome, that would be that the agents will be disgruntled and maybe this could bring about a bit of anger internally and may see a change in the rules, Maybe.

What is new? All totalitarian societies do this. What has changed?

I love Thailand, I wish the rulers of this country would do the same.

    Nothing new at all.

I replaced an android phone with an Apple a few months ago and did a data transfer using an app.

My new apple received the data from the android ok.

Not only that but the apple phone over the next 24 hours filled up my contacts list with people I had known years ago and some that had died, this info was not on my old phone but the Apple put just about every person I had called over the years into my contacts list, from dead phones and simms from Thailand and NZ.

So big Brother is watching you and stores your info in the big server, it is able to cross reference and link numbers by comparing them to others you had called in the past, if you put a new sim in your phone and started calling old friends it would have you sorted in a very short time.

Nothing to worry about here , just take care out there and stay clean.

Apparently, dog is delicious, just ask the Vietnamese, Indonesians or Cambodians. The North American plains Indians ranked horse #1, dog #2 and bison #3 in favorite meat dishes. I'll pass but a good place for Soi Dogs to be shipped.

Does rabies get destroyed when you cook the dogs??

The fact that bail is even an option when the gun you were actively aiming at people goes off and kills somebody just typifies the dire straits the Thai legal system is in.

What a pathetic spectacle. Condolences to the family of the victim here

Shooting at school kids after returning from the temple where he had been seeking merit from the monks, calling these kids rivals, the man is deluded , carrying a 38 unregistered firearm handed down by his grandfather.

He should get the death penalty , he is a reckless fool a danger to society.

I feel for the family suffering for this poor 14 year old girl .

If you used 800,000 in the bank for your current extension (after March 1st or whenever), when you go in to renew they would have a record of the account you used and be looking for proof that you maintained at least that amount for 3 months and kept at least 400,000 for the rest of the year. If you destroy any record of that account and only have a record for the new account for a few months, you'd be unable to provide the evidence they require for the renewal.

Maybe I'm missing something but I don't see how the plan you put forward could meet the requirements for your next renewal.

Why bother, why not get a single entry non immigrant O which give you 4 by three month periods and you have to cross the border to renew each 3 month period.

Then you can extend it for 60 days and you don't need money in the bank.

I obtain these from the Thai consulate in NZ and as I am married to a Thai and have a dependent Thai son they only ask for these documents and never asked for proof of income.

I also understand the Thai immigration will accept proof of income from your bank/ the inland revenue department and the pension office instead of a embassy letter.

If you need to get a NON O then you would have to go home and get it from the Thai consulate in your home land.

Yes the power of the Thai women drove him to become a child again.

He is a lucky child, the owner of the shop might not like the posters it seems.

He might also be well advised to think seriously about the GF as it seems she has other love which does not include him.

Think with you brain my son not your drain.

More illegal hotels coming right up. Nothing perks up the neighbourhood like Chinese tour buses offloading next door.

yes the BK post ran an article saying that there may be huge money laundering by Chinese drug lords in the property market in LOS.

The huge condo development on the left heading from Cha Am to Hua Hin remains empty for quite some time now.

Given that P or meth/ice is on the rise worldwide and that 65% of prisoners in NZ are there from P convictions it is a epidemic in NZ/ Australia and Europe.

The main suppliers of the base ingredients are the Chinese.

These drug lords have plenty to launder and spend.

They also have lots of cousins in LOS>

It's great to see the fire brigade looking very professional, all suited in uniform, and welcoming for any issues which might arise from this mentally unstable situation.

The occupant is probably just waiting for monies to be properly transferred over,

so he may clear the rent. It's just a misunderstanding, which the landlord wasn't willing to understand through proper body language translation, since English skills here are still very low line in most parts, as not being any sort of priority to consider when running a business. Hopefully it will all sort itself out in a most positive fashion prior to any sort of overstay, which might cause him to be banned from the country in the future.

They could turn nasty and turn the power and water off, I don't know how much food he has but overall I think he is being a blockhead.

Where are they going to go to,back home ,Cambodia,or Philippines,

save up a bit more money and the could be back.

    regards Worgeordie

I suspect money lending operations to kick in and solve this for many.

However being married to a Thai and having a son to her you would think that things would be easier for expats in similar positions , whom have been in LOS for years and contribute honestly to the Thai economy.

There are always bad apples and these scum seem to flock to Thailand and are quite different from the genuine expats that live here.

I Think Big Joke should take a closer look and help to make things easier for, not harder for ,the genuine people which outnumber the scum.

The scum should always be deported and never allowed back.

I agree but it's also totally unacceptable to cut another driver off.....and that happens also far too often..

When I drive my son to school everyday I get cut off all the time by motorbikes.

Bikes with women and children on board with no helmets.

TIT but I never have seen a falang jump from his car and attack Thais for this.

It does happen at home though, road rage is rife.

Four onto one over road rage for this is a sign of a mind set in LOS.

He should be gratefull as this is a victory for a falang.

And be grateful to Hua Hin Hospital who I have found to be very good to me and my Thai family.

Must be a terrible misunderstanding; only Foreigners do bad things to Thai people !

My friend in a close by province witnessed 2 similar killings within a month.

One a a Karaoke bar and another at a market.

    All over arguments between Thais.

The gun laws in Thailand need review, simply they should be allowed to own guns.

Having said that I once knew a girl who sold guns at her phone shop for her Thai police BF.

but I kept a good distance from her and eventually she disappeared somewhere.

Here we go again, just another instance to highlight the stupidity of allowing dog packs to roam the streets. They should have been exterminated on the spot, not tranquilised and caged.

Now waiting for the bleeding heart dog brigade to start up, it's not the dogs fault, the kid shouldn't have been there, where we the parents etc etc.

Guess TAT will be along as well soon on the beauty and safety of impeccable Thai beaches, we cleaned up the beach chairs and cigarette butts, and can guarantee the beaches are dog free.

My Thai wife was bitten by a mangy soi dog at the Dinosaur market Hua Hin .

These mangy dogs have bits protruding out of their bodies, and drag their hind legs behind them to scratch their bodies for relief.

In most countries they would be humanely put down along with all the other mangy troublesome dogs.

When I walk up to my bar in the afternoon I sometimes carry a stick or a tazer, the noise alone scares the dogs away.

Most locals carry a stick .

Just as driving on Thai Roads is dangerous so is trying to walk safely.

But the thinking that these dogs are reincarnations prevails.

If you run one over you may be held to ransom.

    When will they ever learn.

One day a soi dog bit a Thai baby outside a shop bar, his father was a policeman, he shot the dog in the street outside a shop bar.

He was applauded by all Thai and Falang who saw this.

Travel insurance company rejecte more claims that they pay.  Everyone knows that. If someone doesn't approve of gofund,  it's their opinion to ignore it. Negative comments serve no purpose other than to hurt the people who loved this unfortunate  and tragic individual.

Well said, the poor guy may have been the victim of foul play, maybe given an overdose of something to put him to sleep .

I know many over the years I have met that have been drugged and robbed.

Hope this is not the case and condolences to the family.

    Very tragic.

Excellent. Thank you guys and ubonjoe the legend. You guys rock.

I thought they changed the visa laws a few months ago so you could do 30 day multiple runs.

In the old days at Vienchien you paid 1000BHT or a $us 20 bill and they renewed your visa  without filling any forms or income requirement.

If all you need to pay is 1000 BHT and fill out form then all is still pretty easy.

My Question is can you do this multiple times as in the old days from most borders in LOS?.
