Note the last sentence about banning, ---- I can assure you that a lot has happened behind the scenes in regards to how we are moderating this community, and the moderating mindset HAS changed to the better since some 3 months back. We are simply not so strict with warnings and banning anymore. The moderating team are these days just hiding offensive topics instead of banning members. A changed mindset, I assure you. All banning of members must have management pre-approval (except for blatant spam, lese majeste posts and obvious abuse etc).

Yes, A few "hard core" mods has indeed departed. The team is now acting with a new mindset. We did gaffes in the past, I agree, much less so now. You could always PM me if you want a "second opinion". I'm here for developing this community to be a better place.

Use the report button and put people you don't like on ignore, like in Real Life, and Mods take care of the rest.

Yes, it's an interesting topic. Let the moderating discussion stay in this thread so its easy for us to read and reply. I'm here to listen to the users, and to make this a better place. Again. So keep it going in this thread at least. Let's make this community less toxic both for users and mods team.

The scoop of the ebook is not for techies. It's written by the software vendor Invision a in language for members and new mods to get an insight in the moderating world. And it was a good topic starter apparently. For obvious reasons we can't discuss the details or security setup of the backend of this forum. We are doing very good in that aspect. No worries there.

Things looks good. The forum has a constant growth since 6 months back. We are recovering big time after the very unsuccessful re-branding. Improved SEO and changed moderation attitude is part of the strategy. I'm good at this kinda stuff.. (jokingly). Regarding Dan: He is doing well with his YouTube Channel and property business, and I'm running the AseanNow show since 1.5 years. Forum was not his bag. We are soon launching a campaign to get more new members onboard. Follow this space!

False! There is no paid member postings on this platform. We do have some paid staff posting news stories and social media content and curating content though. Please stop accuse us for things that is not true.

Emojis is a cornerstone and is very important for Social media to increase engagement and it accelerates traffic. Yes, some member are abusing the emojis.

There is a way of filtering out which subforums you want to show up in “new content” . Have you tried that? Could we improve that feature? Let me know please 🙏
