You can refuse the delivery, yes, but you cannot inspect its contents etc, at that point you have accepted the delivery and have to go through the claim/ return/refund procedure.

Not accurate.. I have inspected numerous Lazada and Shoppe deliveries and rejected those that were not as ordered of fake.. Never had an issue

  2. I have a Daikin Inverter and older Mits non inverter and today we installed a new Carrier Inverter. We usually keep temps at 25, sometimes we drop to 24 but never lower. The house seems quite comfortable.

Must say, the new Carrier backlit remote is awesome.. Took me about an hour to figure out how to use it as it has so many different settings.

FYI.. I bought Carrier because it's the most efficient AC available.

Daikin SEER is 17 and the Carrier is 24.. Huge difference.

My house is about the same size, a 12 x 8 bungalow. The living room is 45 sq m, the main bedroom 20 sq m and I have a smaller bedroom and 2 bathrooms.

I initially just put air in the main bedroom, a 13K btu Panasonic, but that couldn't cope in the really hot weather so I changed it for a 18K btu LG and put the Panasonic in the small bedroom. At the same time I also put another 18K LG at the sitting area of the living room. I could be doing with another at the other end but never bothered, not too much of a problem.

LG is quite cheap but not the quietest of units, been quite reliable, one or 2 minor issues over the years but other than that they have both run fairly constantly for over 11 years.

I would suggest you try and find a local air engineer, you will need that over time. Many are quite happy to install units you have purchased elsewhere, just have to check which makes they are familiar with. This gives you the flexibility of purchasing at the best price. The big outlets will offer installation but they are not so responsive, if at all after the warranty, when it comes to a service or breakdown. Good luck.

Must be the Brand as my bedroom is 20 sqm and has a 12,500 BTU Daikin Inverter and the room gets ice cold.

My house is insolated concrete block and the ceiling is insolated. Probably makes a big difference.

  4. Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha assured that COVID-19 would be under control and field hospitals could be set up in Bangkok to contain the disease.

Sounds like Trump, who did nothing and look where the US is now.

The issue here is the absolute need for this administration to bring revenue back to the country so they can continue to get rich.

They are way behind in the vaccine  process which will create a huge COVID breakout in the next few weeks.

You have been a member on here 10 years, yet you say you are surprised the bank gave my wife a statement of my account without me being there.

You must not follow things on here if that surprises you.

As i have said many times on here my wife does all my banking and immigration matters, due to me being paraplegic.

I follow things quite closely but didn't know you are a paraplegic. I now understand why the banks allow your wife to do your banking without yo being there...

I signed up for a WU U.S. acct last year and did two test transfers of $50 to my Bangkok Bank acct.  Both showed up as Bahtnet transfers (i.e., domestic transfers).  Plus, after initiating each transfer online a few hour later I got an automated phone call from WU saying I need to call them within 12 hours to re-verification otherwise the transfer would be cancelled.  I called...had to wait about 10 minutes of listening to elevator music before getting a human....satisfied them it was really me initiating the transfer.  Then each transfer didn't show up for 3-4 days as WU waited approx 3 days for the funding to clear....I was funding by them pulling the money from my bank acct via ACH debit/pull (not debit card, ACH debit like how Wise will use a ACH Bank debit to fund a transfer.   Now if using a debit card the fee would have been $2.99 (I expect that's how you fund your transfers) and transfer time is suppose to be 1 to 2 business days.  But if I wanted to send a big chunk of money I'm not sure if I could fund more than $1,000 per transfer with my debit card since it has a daily cash withdrawal limit of $1,000....maybe if the transfer is treated as a "purchase" I could fund more...don't know as I only use my credit cards to buy/purchase stuff.

Although the WU exchange rates are indeed competitive when using your online WU acct (not like their crappy rates you get if going to a WU agent to initiate a transfer),  the slowness of the transfer for an ACH bank debit which was fee-free, having to call each time to reverify myself, and then getting the Bahtnet coding just turned me off.

Just as FYI for other listening below is a WU vs Wise comparison for sending $2,200 worth of baht to Thailand as of 18 Mar 2021 at 3:30pm Thailand time.  Wise wins by a little of 1000 baht.

Hey I can relate. Some of us have issues others don"t..

I usually send $2400 via WU to my BKK account. Never had an issue..

  7. I don't understand why some of you make life so difficult. If the process that Wise uses to receive funds has the possibility that immigration may reject you Visa extension, why use them.

Try Western Union.  Their rates are competitive, 2 days to receive your funds and they charge just $2.99.

The "BNT" above stands for Bahnet which is a Thailand-only/unique domestic transfer system but does interface with the SWIFT system.  The  CITITHBX code you mentioned a few posts up is  the Citibank Thailand SWIFT/BIC code; it not SCB unique transfer coding.  After Citibank Thailand receives the money they transferred it over to your SCB acct via Bahtnet (BNT).   The IFT stands for Interbank Funds Transfer (IFT).    The SCB coding for a foreign remittance is "FRC".....Foreign Remitttance

Basically the transfer is saying it was an interbank transfer with the last leg being via Bahtnet.  And where SCB is using "Federal" as a  transfer description that's purely a SCB internal policy description OR more probably they are extracting the first word from the originator/sender to build a description which is the Federal Reserve Bank of New York which the US Treasury/SSA uses to send SSA payments.

Ultimately, the final leg of your SSA payment via IDD is via domestic transfer (Bahtnet) from Citibank Thailand to SCB or Bangkok Bank...or K-bank...whatever the final/receiving bank is.  It's not being coded as a foreign transfer at SCB.   However, Citibank Thailand would have the transfer coded as a foreign transfer if you had to get a Credit Advice from them to prove it was an international transfer.  But once CitiBank Thailand inserted it into the Bahtnet system to complete the final it changed to a domestic transfer.

As mentioned earlier if you are using the monthly income method for you annual extension and your immigration office is satisfied with whatever docs your are providing to show such transfers then that's good.   There is no standardization among immigration offices regarding proof of international transfers....it can range from some offices being fine with simple Transferwise PDF receipts while others are hard core in wanting a Thai bank annual statement showing "international transfers."    And of course such Thai bank letter formats, coding, and policy vary from Thai bank to Thai bank.

You are definitely the expertly here.. but I do think IFT stands for International Bank Transfer. as I transfer funds between  BKK Bank and SCB all the time and those transfers are coded ENET.

In any event, no matter what the IFT actually stands for.. your correct by saying it's a good thing KK Img accepts it as an INT transfer.

Yes, Citibank is contractor bank for SSA payments .  A credit Advice showing the trek of the payment will also show it going thru Citibank Europe before arriving Citibank Thailand.

In your description I don't see anything identity it as an International transfer...just coding it came from Citibank Thailand and you got a description of Federal.  If that satisfies your local immigration office if you are using the monthly income method for your annual extension then that's good....but for other immigration offices they may want  Thai bank statement/letter that clearly shows the transfers were "international" based on transfer coding.

The coding I posted is from my SCB App.  I just looked at the coding on the printout from the bank and it has a column called channel and has the following:

IFT  BNT 1/FEDERAL CITITHBK AND A TRANSACTION NUMBER

    What coding/description appears?

The final leg of  SSA IDD payment is via "Bahtnet" which is a domestic transfer.  Bangkok Bank bank description and coding is simply Bahtnet and BTN, respectively.

If your SCB acct/passbook shows similar Bahtnet description/coding...that is, some type of coding saying it was a Bahtnet transfer then that is domestic transfer coding and not International coding.

The coding says Federal CITITHBX and then a transaction number

Looks like the SSA sends my DD to Citibank who sends it to SCB.

FYI.. Immigration had no problem with these transactions.

IDD method which will not result in international transfer coding on your passbook if that coding is important to you like using the monthly income method for annual extension of stay, etc...etc.

My SSA is DD to my SCB account and is listed as an International Deposit. In fact, I just extended my Visa using The SCB printout.
