I had a hardware failure on a new Mac Mini after 9 days. Went back to iStudio and they flatly refused a refund. The idiots even suggested it needed a software update. They clearly knew nothing about Apple computers - I've been using them for over 25 years. After two days of BS and threats I eventually got my refund. I only managed to get it back by contacting Apple who eventually went above these idiots heads. Apple advised me not to buy from a reseller in countries where consumer rights don't exist and corruption is endemic. Eventually, Apple will dispense with resellers and only sell from official stores.
I understand exactly where you're coming from, but itis not what you posted earlier. iStudio still is an authorised Apple Reseller and will honor Apple's warranty.

For anyone waiting to buy an M1 mac - when they do become available DO NOT BUY FROM RESELLERS STUDIO 7/iSTUDIO.
They don't honour Apple's warranty so their receipt is basically worthless. You may as well buy from one of the cheap IT malls where most everything is a counterfeit product. They try to look like a legit outfit as if they're somehow affiliated with Apple - they're not. Only order from the official Apple store. There is no saving to be made buying from the iStudio cowboys anyway - just a big headache if something goes wrong.
That's a bunch of nonsense. I bought product from iStudio, an iPad. Had a problem that they determined was a hardware failure. iStudio quickly without issue replaced the product.
The only issue with buying from iStudio is they only have pre configured product. If you want more storage or more ram you need to buy from Apple online.. Which I highly recommend.

In front of Big C they are selling a pair for 200 and 5 all the same numbers for 600. This has been going on for at least a year.

The reimbursement is what I'm questioning as nowhere in the Chime terms of agreement/fee schedule (like I partially quoted earlier) that I can find talks anything about reimbursing ATM fees....Chime simply says when any ATM User fee occurs it will be charged to your account. Also, this is the first time I've seen anywhere that Chime reimburses foreign ATM use fees.
The several debit cards that I have that do reimburse "all" ATM use fees (like the Schwab card) clearly state such in their terms of agreement/fee schedule that they will reimburse....in fact, it a big selling point for them, but I can't find such wording in the Chime terms of agreement/fee schedule.
The Chime docs/website just says when you use an "out of network" ATM that Chime will charge a $2.50 fee and other ATM use fees will be charged to your acct---no mention of reimbursement.
Now Chime says the Money Pass and Visa Plus Alliance ATM networks are "fee-free" with Chime. I expect SCB (your Thai bank) interfaces with the Visa Plus Alliance and probably all Thai bank do.
So, maybe where Chime says ATM use on those two networks is "fee-free" means the bank that owns that ATM may still charge a use fee (like the Bt220 fee) but we will reimburse fee. But I can only assume that based on your experience because their terms of agreement/fee schedule does not say that.
And your experience in getting that reimbursement was that a one time thing....or do you regularly use your Chime debit card in Thailand and you are automatically reimbursed without having to bug Chime for reimbursement?
Y have to look closer next time.. It may have been a $2.50 fee that they reimbursed me tho I used an in network ATM.. Kinda strange

I had been advised by the officer at immigration when I did my 90 day report in October to apply early for 'extension of stay' early to avoid the rush, although the next appointment date was January 2021.
A few days ago I went to get a new 'retirement' visa at the KK office, rush what rush ? only 1 other person at the office at 11am. Form filling etc took 15 minute.
The other officers looked totally board not knowing what to do.
I now a visa until December 2021 and a 90 day report in February.I was there Monday morning 8:30am and the place was packed. They fast tracked the 90 day reports and I was out in 20 minutes..

The stingy frugal Chinese will spend THAT much in Thailand? if they wanted to spend that much they'd have gone to Europe and to a third world country where a plate of seafood cost you an arm and a leg.......
Agree.. They are too cheap to spend that kind of money...

Unless we are talking different Chime Banks, they do not charge a foreign transaction fee like you said, but they do charge an ATM withdrawal fee of $2.50 if not using a MoneyPass ATM/Visa Plus Alliance ATM and they do "not" reimburse ATM Use Fees like the Thai bank ATM Bt220 fee for a foreign card. I couldn't find any mention of reimbursing ATM Use Fees.

I believe I said they do not charge an ATM fee. You are correct about using the in network ATMs which my bank [SCB] is.
The first time used the card here in Thailand I was charged B220. Chime automatically reimbursed me. Sorry for the confusion.
-
I use Chime Bank [US] They do not charge any ATM fees and refund the B220 if your bank charges that fee.
BUT.. You must have the US bank do the conversion or you will be charged 3-5%

Yes, finally got it around 11 am this morning. They managed to get the worst exchange rate possible, less than 31 baht to the dollar. I've never had it be this late before.
The exchange rate was 31.07 yesterday and BKK Bank rate was 30.91.. Seems normal

Maybe you know someone for who it works.
Maybe you should ask him to assist you.
It can be that you always do something wrong.
It can be that, for one or another reason, it indeed doesn't work for you.
At least you would know for sure.
Trust Me...I'm not doing anything wrong..

TBH I would try to avoid buying your son a smartphone as long as possible. I have 2 sons, 16 & 13 & android phones are addictive & kill off family life.
But if you insist on going ahead, if he wants it for gaming, then surely you need to look at something a bit more powerful with more memory? Xiaomi Redmi note 9?
I just bought the Note 9 2 months ago Lazada Promotion 9-9 B3890
Probably will have an 11-11 promotion

I use this one https://biptv.best/iptv3/
Not perfect, but i don't think many of them are, has a 48 hour trial period and has easier groups and more choices.
Also price is half the one you recommend. I found support pretty good.
Thanks for the heads up.. Always looking for better and cheaper..

It probably would, it could solve your problem, is a possible warranty claim valuable enough?
You kill me..lol I'll get the water heater resolved without the paint..

A can of black paint could be a simple way to help as long as it’s not early morning that you are trying for hot water.
Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't think so. It's a new DOS tank and I'm sure painting it will void it's 25 year warranty.

Where have you put the water storage thank that you are pumping from?
Repositioning that to get solar heat gain could help.
Don't forget that by February you will have much hotter water as the supply will be less cold.
The tank is next to the pump in full sun

That is not a large pump and if of the well tank type varies greatly between high and low pressure so could be causing heater flow cut off to activate on and off or having an issue remaining on.
I don't have a well it's city water

This is the issue I have seen in those units used in hospitals and hotels here - just about impossible to balance flow to get temp you want without cutting out or burning up. Do you have constant water pressure at good PSI/BAR?
3 minutes ago, Crossy said:How hot is "should be"? How hot is it? What's the flow rate? Incoming water temperature?
We're getting into the realms of physics now. There's only so much energy your heater can add to the water.
My water pressure comes from a 350W water pump. I know I have one but can't find my thermometer anywhere in the house.
The 6000w Panasonic shower heaters puts out very hot water. I can't understand why the Stiebel is not.
It kills me to go from 8000w to 6000w as I paid for 8000.

I'll bet that it's the flow that's the real issue, it would probably be the overheat that shuts down the heater unless you go really slow. Sinks do usually "need" hotter water but 8kW still seems over the top.
Restrict your hot flow so the water is how you like it then see if the heater cuts out.
Great minds think alike as I just did that. The heater does not shut down but the water isn't as hot as it should be.. Quite a dilemma..

EDIT If you do go for the swap ask the tech to check the voltage at the heater (heater on) before he swaps it out. If it's significantly lower than the voltage at the board then that needs looking at first.
He checked the voltage at the water heater and it was 204 with the heater running on #3
