Thanks for that, got anymore detail and I will bring it up with the cardiologist. I assume they are not of Thai manufacture or I think he would have mentioned it. Every time I get a prescription he has to give the hospital pharmacy a reason why he is prescribing an imported drug.

It's called Eliquis and available in Thailand. It's got to be cheaper...

My contracts state that I am a freelancer/independent contractor/consultant (multiple contracts) and states the following:

The consultant will be responsible for all income tax liabilities and National Insurance or similar contributions relating to the Payment and the Consultant will indemnify the Company in respect of any such payments required to be made by the Company

Thailand has an agree with over 100 countries, the UK and US included. If you pay your taxes to one of these countries, you are not obligated to pay tax to Thailand.

You may want to look at where your tax rate is lower. Your home country or Thailand. Keep in mind that your home country usually has more tax deductions available than Thailand.

Only the Americans could come up with that point of view. If doctors globally took any notice they would be putting millions like myself at risk.

Do you really think that aspirin is the only drug that interferes with blood clotting that is used in stroke prevention.

Stomach problems from aspirin can be mitigated but hemorrhagic stroke could be lights out whichever drug had been prescribed.

I was on aspirin for years and in 2009 my doctor in UK said at my age I should move on to Warfarin, I declined and stayed on the aspirin and then in 2017 doctor here in Thailand suggested I go on to Apixaban which was approved in 2013. Less side effects than Warfarin and comes out of the system quite quickly if you need the dentist, only downside is the 60 baht a day.

There are 2 generic versions approved in Dec 2019.. Should be much cheaper.. check it out

I had a hardware failure on a new Mac Mini after 9 days. Went back to iStudio and they flatly refused a refund. The idiots even suggested it needed a software update. They clearly knew nothing about Apple computers - I've been using them for over 25 years. After two days of BS and threats I eventually got my refund. I only managed to get it back by contacting Apple who eventually went above these idiots heads. Apple advised me not to buy from a reseller in countries where consumer rights don't exist and corruption is endemic. Eventually, Apple will dispense with resellers and only sell from official stores.

I understand exactly where you're coming from, but itis not what you posted earlier. iStudio still is an authorised Apple Reseller and will honor Apple's warranty.

For anyone waiting to buy an M1 mac - when they do become available DO NOT BUY FROM RESELLERS STUDIO 7/iSTUDIO.

They don't honour Apple's warranty so their receipt is basically worthless. You may as well buy from one of the cheap IT malls where most everything is a counterfeit product. They try to look like a legit outfit as if they're somehow affiliated with Apple - they're not. Only order from the official Apple store. There is no saving to be made buying from the iStudio cowboys anyway - just a big headache if something goes wrong.

That's a bunch of nonsense. I bought product from iStudio, an iPad. Had a problem that they determined was a hardware failure. iStudio quickly without issue replaced the product.

The only issue with buying from iStudio is they only have pre configured product. If you want more storage or more ram you need to buy from Apple online.. Which I highly recommend.

The reimbursement is what I'm questioning as nowhere in the Chime terms of agreement/fee schedule (like I partially quoted earlier) that I can find talks anything about reimbursing ATM fees....Chime simply says when any ATM User fee occurs it will be charged to your account.   Also, this is the first time I've seen anywhere that Chime reimburses foreign ATM use fees.

The several debit cards that I have that do reimburse "all" ATM use fees (like the Schwab card) clearly state such in their terms of agreement/fee schedule that they will reimburse....in fact, it a big selling point for them, but I can't find such wording in the Chime terms of agreement/fee schedule.

The Chime docs/website just says when you use an "out of network" ATM that Chime will charge a $2.50 fee and other ATM use fees will be charged to your acct---no mention of reimbursement.

Now Chime says the Money Pass and Visa Plus Alliance ATM networks are "fee-free" with Chime.  I expect SCB (your Thai bank) interfaces with the Visa Plus Alliance and probably all Thai bank do.

So, maybe where Chime says ATM use on those two networks is "fee-free" means the bank that owns that ATM may still charge a use fee (like the Bt220 fee) but we will reimburse fee.   But I can only assume that based on your experience because their terms of agreement/fee schedule does not say that.

And your experience in getting that reimbursement was that a one time thing....or do you regularly use your Chime debit card in Thailand and you are automatically reimbursed without having to bug Chime for reimbursement?

Y have to look closer next time.. It may have been a $2.50 fee that they reimbursed me tho I used an in network ATM.. Kinda strange

I had been advised by the officer at immigration when I did my 90 day report in October to apply early for 'extension of stay' early to avoid the rush, although the next appointment date was January 2021.

A few days ago I went to get a new 'retirement' visa at the KK office, rush what rush ? only 1 other person at the office at 11am.    Form filling etc took 15 minute.

The other officers looked totally board not knowing what to do.
I now a visa until December 2021 and a 90 day report in February.

I was there Monday morning 8:30am and the place was packed. They fast tracked the 90 day reports and I was out in 20 minutes..

Unless we are talking different Chime Banks, they do not charge a foreign transaction fee like you said, but they do charge an ATM withdrawal fee of $2.50 if not using a MoneyPass ATM/Visa Plus Alliance ATM and they do "not" reimburse ATM Use Fees like the Thai bank ATM Bt220 fee for a foreign card.   I couldn't find any mention of reimbursing ATM Use Fees.

I believe I said they do not charge an ATM fee. You are correct about using the in network ATMs which my bank [SCB] is.

The first time used the card here in Thailand I was charged B220. Chime automatically reimbursed me. Sorry for the confusion.

TBH I would try to avoid buying your son a smartphone as long as possible.  I have 2 sons, 16 & 13 & android phones are addictive & kill off family life.

But if you insist on going ahead, if he wants it for gaming, then surely you need to look at something a bit more powerful with more memory?  Xiaomi Redmi note 9?

I just bought the Note 9   2 months ago Lazada Promotion 9-9 B3890

Probably will have an 11-11 promotion
