    Still pending Tuesday A.M.

I went to Surin Immigration this morning and other than a minor hiccough for my 12 month extension it was approved and everything was hunky dorey. However, although I didn't ask, my 90 day report was issued (22nd August 2021 next report date).

My on-line report submission was still pending at 17:30 so I'm not sure how this will pan out but.................

Although I shall be visiting Surin Immigration on Tuesday to apply for my next 12 month extension of stay, I tried the on-line service anyway (90 day report due 6th June 2021). The last 90 day report shown on the computer was January last, not 21st April which was conducted in person. Notwithstanding this, my application was successfully submitted and is currently pending.

Thanks. Still no go, very strange. Seems to work for some and not others!

  5. Obviously the procedure in Surin Immigration is different to some other offices.

If your next date for the 90 day report calculates as being after your extension expires then the new reporting date is logged as the same date, e.g. my report was made on 21st April 2021 and my next report date is 6th June 2021 (my extension of stay ends on 6th June 2021). If I apply for my next extension 15 days or less before 6th June 2021 then I am able to report at the same time.

It is my 1st time applying for 90 day reporting online since the in person one.  The app and website act as though my 1st one was not registered, telling me to go the the local office.  I am about as far as you can get from my home local office right now and will not be that way for another month.  The local office (Samui) will not help since they say I am not registered at their office.  Will wait and try a few days from now as it seems the system is having problems.

Whether it will work or not I don't know, but you could try submitting a TM30 to temporarily change your address to Samui. You will have to submit another TM30 when you return to your former address of course.

Just seen on TV April 23rd 2021  at 12:00 [midday]  on the health ministry news show.

    English speaking version.

Thai immigration have announced the 90 day reporting online service is now back up and running.

Would be nice if anyone who is due to report can confirm this is the case.

I suppose an explanation of why it took over two months to fix would be out of the question.

Weird! I got a full 90 days this week at Phuket even though my extension expires in a month.

But they did write a note at the top that my extension VISA was expiring next month.  ????

Just for information but do Phuket Immigration allow you to apply for your extension up to 30 or up to 45 days before expiry? It appears that the "official" stance is 45 days but each individual office appear to have their own ideas.

The problem with the immig in Thailand is that the officers/clerks don't wear badges as to their position and name. Not that I am aware of ...

In our local Immigration Office the boss is the guy who finally verifies your application for your extension of stay. After another 5 officers have checked it twice each.

He (or she) is also the one to approach should you need any assistance with your extension of stay should you not be able to satisfy the financial requirements.

These are just low-level clerks, most of the time I don't get any logical answers from them.

If you want a reliable answer, you should speak with the higher-up.

I have never ever had a logical answer to any question that is in any way challenging whether it be a "low level" clerk or the highest position available. "Mai roo" (or just make something up so as not to lose face!).

Me: "Why can I not have internet banking?"

Bangkok Bank employee: "Because you don't have a work permit"

Me: "Why do I need a work permit for internet banking?"

Bangkok Bank employee: "Because Head Office say so"

    Me: "Have you asked why?"

    Bangkok Bank employee: "No"

Me: "Why can I not have internet banking?"

Bangkok Bank manager: "Because Head Office say so".

    Me: "Have you asked why?"

    Bangkok Bank manager: "No"

If you have to pay 1200 baht for one trip, wouldn't it be better to not do the 90 day report for 12 months and just be fined for 2000 baht? I don't think the fine is accumulative....

It depends how much you travel, I guess. Because I live near a border there are frequent police checkpoints and if stopped and I cannot show a receipt for a current 90 day report I could be subjected to a fine of ฿5,000.00. What would happen the second time (if the situation wasn't rectified), I don't know.

There are lots of different ways I can do it including driving there myself. But I was caught off guard this time because of the online system being down and wasn't in the mood to drive and deal with the traffic. Next time I'll just do it by mail.

Because I've been reporting on-line for 4 years I forgot to ask about mail in. The Surin office refused to accept mail in reports initially but that was over 4 years ago. My next report coincides with my application for extension* so I'll do that in person and ask about mail in if I remember.

    * My reporting date was 17th April 2021; I reported on 21st. My next reporting date is now 6th June 2021 which is the same date as my extension expires. This appears to be the norm now (at least it is out here in the sticks).

No hassle and no fine (since within the 7 day after period).

Some time ago (must have been prior to 2016) during personal reporting, the IO officer pointed out to my wife that I was late and I should report on time in future. I was reporting 3 days after the due date. I'm pleased that she didn't tell me before we left the office as I would probably have made a <deleted> of myself. Supercilious piIIock.

Arrived MTT today at 12:45pm; not crowded at all; I guess less than 30 persons. Went up to the "parking lot" 2nd floor, showed them my passport, T47 and appointment booking for 1:20pm and was given a "B queue tag". Told to go straight into the processing office. Waited for less than 1 minute and was attended to. Gave the IO my passport, completed T47 and previous 90-day receipt. Was then issued a new 90-day receipt in less than 2 minutes.

All in...took less than 7 minutes, including the time it took me to climb the stairs!

I just wondered why we need to file this 90-day report in person. The Immigration Bureau should have given us an amnesty or at least allow us to file this report via email or phone since the online system has been down for over 2 months; after all they have all our data in their files. Only first-timers need to file in person.

Did an Immigration Officer ask you if you still resided at the same address that you did when you last reported? If so, did he ask for proof?

    Not in my case.

A complete and irresponsible waste of time, money and resources, in my opinion.
