hi there
I'm very happy with healthcare in BKK, apart from the exhorbitant prices charged for medications at hospitals. Last week i saw a specialist and had X-rays, the price being a very reasonable 1600B, he prescribed anti inflamatries and muscle relaxants which were an outrageous 1500B, as mush as the consultation itself. Needless to say i declined them, and got some from a local pharmacy, 200B!! Sometimes i wonder if the doctor get a % of the meds he prescribes.
Ordinarily i'm reluctant to make an issue of such things, but after walking out of bummers once haven paid 900B for a bottle of vitamins, i vowed i'd be more cautious next time.
My question is, assuming the meds are not prohibited (a prescription needed) can a patient request a copy of the medications? Has anyone done this? My guess is that its against hospital policy.
cheers

how much was the MRI scan, and at what hospital was it at, if u don't mind me asking? My doctor wants me to get one and i was surprised at the 10K cost. He didn't mention anything about a CT scan, but from what u said i will now ask him if this is a better alternative, and just maybe cheaper
cheers

Hi there
I have a hip problem and am looking for an orthopedic surgeon to diagnose it. Dr Mason at Bumrungrad appears well qualified. Can anyone recommend him, is he thorough? Does he rush his consultations? (as many do at Bummers)
As I my experience of Bumrungrad has not been positive i was wondering if anyone knows if he consults at another hospital.
Can anyone recommend another specialist as highly qualified as Dr Mason that works at another hospital?
many thanks

hi there
i live in central BKK and wanna set up a saltwater reef-style aquarium. I have no experience with aquariums so ideally i would like to find a shop or seller that can set up a complete system for me and come to my place regularly to maintain it, at least until such a time i can do it on my own. So if anyone can point me in the right direction or offer any advice, it would be appreciated.

Why import? Check this out ~~~ Might help http://www.westfield-sportscars-thailand.com/
TBWG
well whats that all about?? They're saying you can build yr own trackcar right here in LOS
The claim that track cars in TH are registered and able to drive on public roads seems incredible.
-
surely you don't mean the same registration that a typical road car has. Or can u drive yr porsche on public roads?
-
oh well, suppose we gotta take the bad with the good livin here. Such a shame though
-
What pitfalls, if any, could be encountered if one were to import a kit car for track use only? I wonder what the tax would be, would it be better to ship it in multiple shipments? Could some of it be shipped as 2nd hand car parts?

Comprehension problems again T/A? Where does it say that exactly?? Quote please?? It isn't there but it's still likely, I know many people who lack self confidence resent people who do and are only prone to make snide comments while sitting in their desk chair at a key board. Of course if the opportunity to prove such is denied that's the easiest way to claim other wise but I still put my cards on the table, poker instead of hollow words anyone??
I think us readers can draw our own conclusions to the written word.
PS. Do you like my spell check, good eh, you should download, give readers the right impression eh.
Are you drunk again or just rambling to yourself?? Seems so...... Ahhh here's the problem....
now now children, lets all get along!!
back on topic, if my car wasn't getting some work done i would definately go check it out.
What class is the beamer racing in? and who is the driver, thai or farang?
good luck anyway

A govt won't just take the car right? As risky as "Thailand" sounds to the average person.. I am sure to have trust in there Government?
Noooooo, of course customs would never be so dishonest.......yeah right.
yr a brave man. But good luck all the same.

i'd be very nervous doing something like that, guys at customs are crooks, i wouldn't be surprised if they want u to pay duty again when you re-import it. If this happened there wouldn't be much you could do, u will never get it back without paying ransom for it
-
yeah, well shops that sell motorcycles in BKK are very rare indeed, in all my years here i must of only seen about 1000,000,000.

hi there
ever since the TV upgrade i cannot access my messages. I go to the 'messenger' icon, it opens a new window and nothing comes up.
Am i doing something wrong? Will all my old messages still be there?
thanks
-
I'm glad it worked out for you in the end.
i admire yr honesty in admitting u were at fault even though u didn't have to..........but if a similar incident happened, would you do so again? just curious
cheers
-
not sure what kinda car it may be as yet. Naa, doesn't have to be in BKK, anywhere in LOS would do
cheers
-
anyone know if there is anywhere in BKK that does RHD conversions

if u think yr gonna pick up a cheap car, forget it. cops and customs officers have that gig sewn up already

i suggest finding a sturdy brick wall and start beating yr head against it....far less painful than importing a car to this country.
If you can operate the search function on this forum you should be able to find lots of info, there was a guy, i think his ID was 'tuktukmike' or some such thing, read his story and then come back and tell us u wanna import a car.
As much as i love LOS, it is corrupt, and customs officers are the worst.
