100% agree... christ knows what will become of the world when the farcebook / twatter generation become the next world leaders... hopefully I will be long gone by then, so I don't have to witness the world / society fall apart...(more than it is now)...

There is that one guy in the USA who used to use Twitter a lot before he was banned.

Then he setup his own social media...

  2. I never had a facebook, insta, or such accounts.

As far as I see the main problem are the kids who grow up with <deleted> like that. They see all the time people with more and better and stranger things, and all those crazy stunts and whatever else. When I was a kid the coolest I possibly was aware of was what one kid did in our school. Or maybe what I saw on evening TV with my parents. All in all nothing exiting happened around me, so my not so exiting life was just fine.

It seems now kids have to be up to date all the time about all the newest trends on tiktok or whatever. If they didn't see already that new video from abc which was released 2h ago then other kids will tell them how behind they are. If you didn't see that naked picture of that girl in the other class which her ex posted then better get it as fast as possible. And if you want to be the cool kid then you better make sure you publish outrageous things which nobody else dares to do.

Another example which I hear about is girls in bikinis. Like one girl posts a picture of herself in a bikini. The next one finds a smaller bikini. The next one has an even smaller bikini and sucks on a lollipop, the list goes on.

Kids growing up like that will be damaged, there is no way around that.

And kids without phones won't be friends with the others until they have a "phone".

If enough parents would come together and don't give their kids those screens, then things might get better. Good luck with that.

you've openly admitted buying  her a drink with the suggestion that it was an alcoholic drink

That is a wonderful example of your fantasy.

I wrote "cola" and in your mind that must have been an alcoholic drink.

Maybe just read what I and other people write and don't interpret it according to your fantasy.

That is in general a good idea, not just in this thread or forum.

That appears to be a nudge nudge, wink wink .

Like, buying her alcohol and telling the Police that is wasn't an alcoholic drink .

Sounds like you been supplying underage children with alcohol and and participating in child prostitution .

Please tell us more about your fantasies.

It seems you really enjoy this subject.

Are you by any chance a priest? Sinner! Tell me more...

    It would be illegal!

You must be 20YO to drink in a bar in Thailand

I also believe that Bar staff/bar workers must be 18 YO (some sites say 20) or over but cannot be bought a drink!

Did you ever ask anybody in a bar to show you their ID card to prove how old they are?

I never asked. If the bar owner or managers do something illegal, then that is their problem, not my problem.

If I would take a girl to a private room and I suspect she could be too young, then I would ask her for her ID. And I would do it only in that situation.

I lived in an attached townhomes (moban) that belonged to my gf. We had 3 main noisy neighbors, next to us and 2 opposite. They had party a least 3 nights per week. Our small garden at the end of soy was toilet of next door guests. I complained 2 or 3 times, but I only received worse. I was totally disappointed and could not see any solution till Covid began.
The next door Mr brave man lost his job after years. Sitting home most of time. His aggressive wife worked only and at this time they were not so brave anymore.
opposite neighbors, both lost jobs. One drove a MB to work, but now had to get a cheap job and got a cheap small motorcycle. The other opposite neighbor (coyote laud sounds at 3:00 morning) started a food business by his gf (abusing her in fact to save the house from bank). It did not take too long and he sold the house for cheap to avoid foreclosure.
I moved out before I could see all what happened to them. I'm sure they never change and do the same when they rise again.

It tells us a lot about you how you enjoyed that your neighbors lost all their money.

If you paid her any money on the night that you met her , that would be categorised as underaged prostitution

    Really?

How about if I bought girls age 16, 17, 18 and 19, who worked in bars, drinks in those bars?

And how about if I gave them 100B tip?

Is that all illegal in your eyes?

Please tell us according to which laws I should be punished.

Human brains don't fully develop until late 20s. A 16yo is very much a child in mind. Sick and disturbing for mature adults to date 16yos. Should be locked up.

So how about if a 15yo boy has sex with a 16yo girl, is that ok in your view? And would it be the same if that 15yo boy would have sex with a 10yo child? Do you spot the difference?

    It can't be so hard.

Where did you meet her ?

If she was working in a bar, it would have been illegal

    Really?

If she worked in a bar, then her working in the bar might have been illegal - independent from me.

Is it illegal for anybody to buy girls drinks in bars? I don't think so.

And I don't think visitors of bars are supposed to check the ID cards of girls who they talk or drink with.

When she was my girlfriend, she was my girlfriend, and she didn't work in a bar, and I didn't pay her. She stayed with me because she wanted to stay with me. No prostitution, no problem.

So still with the Thaksin derangement syndrome I see.

    Do you see?

Please tell me what you see when you look at the last 12 months or so, Thaksin arriving in Thailand, Thaksin so ill that he needs a helicopter flight to a VIP hospital, Thaksin so ill that he can never go back to prison, and then being freed because he is so old and fragile that he needs his rest.

And then, was it days or a week later, Thaksin suddenly healthy again, meeting with politicians, walking in the streets all over Thailand, and and and.

    What do you see?

Do you have learning problems?   Seriously read the posts.

Several comments claimed that the age of consent is 15 years old in Thailand.   I replied that the Thai age of consent is meaningless because 15 years is illegal for visitors in Thailand. 15 years old is considered a child in most western countries.  Therefore anyone (such as you) trying to downplay the seriousness of involvement with a 15 year old should probably know that the law thinks differently.

And yes, they are all the same. Anyone under 18 is a child. Maybe predators want to think differently

I met my Thai girlfriend when she was 16. That was legal in Thailand and legal in my home country.

Her parents didn't object. Nobody else objected. In fact, nobody ever had a problem with our relationship. And we are still together, after many years.

I never met a 15 year old in Thailand who I was attracted to. But I met several 16, 17 and 18 year old girls in gogo bars, and I bought my fair share of drinks for them. I still know some of them now, many years later.

I think most of us have a pretty good idea if teenagers are "children" who have no idea about sex and are not interested in sex. And on the other hand, teenage girls who work in bars, move their body to attract guys, and are not shy to do much more than that. I wouldn't call them children, but I guess that is a question of how you use that word. I am also still the child of my mother, even when we are both "old".

According to Wikipedia pedophiles are interested in children with maximum age 13, in words thirteen. I didn't see anybody here talking about 13 year old and younger. So, all you users of that word, look up the definition and remember it when you comment on questions about 18 years old girls.

Think the reason why more people are not charged is the limitations under Thai law.

    There are 2 problems;

    1. It is not arson if you are burning your own property/land section 217 Thai criminal code.

    2. The definition for the penalties for arson under Thai law,  section 218, Thai criminal code, does not even include land.

The crime may be classed as fire by negligence, section 225, Thai criminal code, but that is defined as “Whoever, causing fire by negligence and causing the fling belonging to the other person to be damaged, or likely to cause damage to the life of the other person.”

(Translation copied from Thai Law Library)

    Thanks

Ok, I know, arson was not exactly the correct word.

But I would think there are laws against pollution. Or not?

You would think from reading TV/AN that noisy neighbors are a huge problem for a large number of posters.  Yet, from your survey, the vast majority report no problems at all and most of the remaining had some problems but they were resolved.  Only a small handful felt they needed to move.  Although your survey isn't scientific, I suspect it pretty fairly reflects reality--and certainly does in my experience here.

That's why I did this poll.

To be fair, if you are one of the few people with problems, then it doesn't help much to know that only few people have such problems.

But in general, I think we can say: yes, those problems happen, but they are not the norm.

Same here, for now anyway. Though the wife and I are prepared to move if needed, we both like a quiet non busy settings.

I own my condo and I don't plan to move.

If someone would be too noisy then I would talk to him. And/or I would ask the building management and security to handle this.

And worst case, I have some BIG speakers and lots of power tools. 😉
