  1. If she really wanted to make herself even more fantastically popular than she already is, she would waive her fee to help her country back onto its feet. But a million extra tourists? How the heck will they get here? A million Thai teenagers yes, but foreigners? Not sure about that.
  2. And this after they spent heaven knows how much on a massive flood prevention program.
  3. You keep writing subs like you have here in italics, any judge is going to throw the case against him out of court.
  4. He's making a very good point. Ever been the victim of an internet blackmailer, a <deleted> off lover, or whatever? He's dead right. Don't leave stuff around anywhere that can be used against you. That's all.
  5. No. He wasn't shouting "Money, money", but "Ma nee, ma nee!", which just means "Come here, come here!". Case solved. Elementary.
  6. Sorry, it was the hospital who said they had just finished giving the 2nd shot.
  7. It's probably not worth commenting, but (2,000,000,000/42,000)/97 days = 490 THB per day, per person. Considering what the costs of setting up the sandbox scheme must have been, this looks like a massive loss maker. All that meat and no gravy. Let's start again.
  8. No word yet from Phayathai 2 on boosters for doubly sinovaxxed. I've contacted them twice recently. They say no supply as yet. Just finished 2nd az shot.
  9. An old chestnut I guess, but looking for latest updates/suggestions. There is a minibus from behind Num Chai to Chantaburi that runs twice a day, but too late on to get to Laem Ngop. So I went looking for a bus to Rayong, assuming onward connections, but no luck there either unless you want to stand by Sukhumvit Road in hope. Maybe somebody knows different. Any suggestions? If I have to stay the night en route, I might as well get a taxi instead.
  10. Why are the news media interviewing her and not the police? Looks like the Asean Now lynch mob have turned up in strength, pitchforks and hoes ready to go.
  11. And it's not just Thai tourism. https://www.ttrweekly.com/site/2021/10/tat-performs-annual-dg-reshuffle/ The Madhatter's tea party.
  12. Unbelievable. Judge and jury in the Asean now kangaroo court.
  13. Seems, like many countries, Thailand's going to be faced with increasingly devastating floods over the coming years. I know they have a system of dams, runoffs, canals and waterways, but a lot of these were constructed decades ago I think. Any ideas what approach might be adopted now? Can they expand or upgrade the current infrastructure, or does it need a complete rethink? I'm clueless.
  14. Depending on how you had your old phone set up, if you have Google or Microsoft (or Facebook etc) accounts, just log into them on your new phone. They'll do the rest, contacts, apps, messages etc etc. Some apps though, eg Line, need to be manually backed up before transfer. You can do this from within the app. Line is the only one I know that requires this. It warns you before you set up on the new phone.
  15. This tax seems to be just a sales tax masquerading as CGT. It's payable on property sales at the selling price, no allowances, no deductions for costs. Coming from the UK, I was expecting to deduct costruction costs and land purchase costs from the selling price in order to calculate the capital gain. But no! The selling price is taxed in its entirety at 6%. How stupid to frame this as a CGT. It's nothing of the sort.
  16. In order to qualify for the annual increases in UK state pension, what would I need to show to the DWP in the UK to establish residency in Philippines?
  17. What's happening with the PHA order for those of us who booked, and paid, in advance with private hospitals?
  18. Could this be a factor? From https://www.ttrweekly.com/site/2021/09/europes-tourism-recovery-falls-short/ "Countries that fared worst were those that rely more on long haul tourism, such as France and Italy and those that imposed the most onerous and volatile travel restrictions, such as the UK, which languished at the bottom of the list achieving just 14.3% of 2019 levels."
  19. Need links to sources. "This applies" - what applies? So any Vax program outside Europe and USA isn't recognised? That would appear to exclude billions of people. Asia, Far East, SE Asia, Middle East, South America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand. And all HGV drivers, I guess.
  20. You can use the Mor Prom app (the green version) to locate your record and display/download your certificate.
