  1. Never tried them but I was in Lasanya on Sukhumvit, before lotussss on the left. They had a freezer half full of Italian sausages (not salami), and a lot more besides.
  2. Aren't you forgetting the X factor of SBS? And what a train wreck that turned into. Much of the Thai government's procurement policy was based around the assumption that Thailand would somehow be self sufficient, with 10 million doses a month. Of course, it all went embarrassingly wrong, and at that point, Anutin should have been fired. But no. They laid into Thanathorn instead for asking for details of the contract, threatening him with 112 etc etc. That's what is totally unforgivable. Not the Sinovac saga.
  3. Or the US gifting Pfizer and Moderna, or Australia, Japan and Korea gifting AstraZaneca. And Germany and Belgium if memory serves. ????
  4. I think the UK will allow from 4am 22nd November. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/countries-with-approved-covid-19-vaccination-programmes-and-proof-of-vaccination
  5. Thank god somebody takes the trouble to check their facts before posting. So much rubbish on this forum with unsubstantiated claims, wild allegations and just general bs. Every day, same old same old.
  6. 1. The link you post is to an article published over 6 months ago. 2. Without Sinovac Thailand wouldn't have had a vaccination program. It has served its purpose well. A booster is easily administered. Back in May it was pretty much all that was available. Side effects are minimal. 3. Your claims it has destroyed the Thai economy, caused a rise in suicides etc etc are completely outrageous. This is just muck spreading. Where's the link between Sinovac and any of the disastrous outcomes you allege? 4. Point to a country that hasn't suffered badly, no matter what vaccine they used. The UK? The US? Germany? Israel? None of these even recognised Sinovac until recently, and then only a couple, let alone use it. 5. It's been a seriously steep learning curve for EVERYBODY. Scientists, politicians, general populace, business owners, multicorps etc etc.
  7. Sinovac, Sinopharm and Covaxin will have approval in the UK as of November 22nd at 4am precisely. I just wish people on this forum would 1. RTFM 2. Keep up with the latest news. 3. Get over events that took place 18 months ago, including inappropriate comments by whoever. 4. Leave the sinophobic/xenophobic comments where they belong - in the garbage can. 5. Not speculate. A bit much to ask I'm sure, but nobody knows the details of the subject in hand. The link carries none. Who knows why this guy was refused entry, if indeed that was the case? 6. Some helpful links to source material for this topic might be: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/countries-with-approved-covid-19-vaccination-programmes-and-proof-of-vaccination#approved-vaccines https://www.bag.admin.ch/bag/en/home/krankheiten/ausbrueche-epidemien-pandemien/aktuelle-ausbrueche-epidemien/novel-cov/empfehlungen-fuer-reisende/quarantaene-einreisende.html#:~:text=Everyone entering Switzerland must present, proof of a negative test.&text=I am vaccinated or recently recovered from COVID-19. or https://www.bag.admin.ch/bag/en/home/krankheiten/ausbrueche-epidemien-pandemien/aktuelle-ausbrueche-epidemien/novel-cov/empfehlungen-fuer-reisende/quarantaene-einreisende.html
  8. That was a recipe for disaster. Sealed in to nothing better than a gulag. It brought a lot of bad press. They have to learn from it, surely.
  9. It would be an enormous task to screen 450,000 individuals. A job for the army, if ever there was one. Jab on arrival. Hold for 14 days. Test. Release. Rejab. Hell, what do I know? 100 Holding/quarantine camps, field hospitals, screening, Vax, unbelievable. Reopen the refugee camps! I think there were many migrant workers who were here on an amnesty, and were vaxxed here prior to the lockdowns which closed their sites and projects. They left. Invite them back as a priority.
  10. I don't live there anymore, but what a treat that would be! And on every corner of every high Street!
  11. The "import of migrant workers", and the possible screening involved, appears in the same article as the headlined tests for tourist arrivals. I wonder what the screening will consist of? ATK? The Labour Ministry has suggested an 8 point plan, but there's no mention of what it will consist of. It's just as important as the tourists' tests, maybe more so, considering the dire situation, and the outbreaks, that arose at workers' camps. Maybe they'll just be quarantined at the border. I hope Thailand finds a humane and mutually beneficial way of handling this.
  12. Presumably Pfizer. Noting wrong with that. It's down to whatever's available. There is a lot of Pfizer around. School kids were all getting it.
  13. Maybe as a mere onlooker I can respond: 1. Yes, Sinovac is good. 2. Receivers of Sinovac don't need an mRNA booster. A Non-replicating viral vector one will do. And receivers of that will also need their own booster of whatever they can find. 3. If you followed the link provided elsewhere, you would see Switzerland does recognise both Sinovac and Sinopharm, and in combination with other vaccines. However, they have additional documentation required for their own internal Covid-19 certificate. Don't let prejudice and ignorance power your rant.
  14. Following your link, it looks like the problem may have been to do with vaccine documentation. Also, the Swiss have their own strict rules for issuing a Swiss COVID certificate. Can't see any other reason.
  15. It was a reference to Lotus which got rebranded Lotus's, completely unpronounceable in Thai. Except as lo tut tut. So I guess Selfridges would become Selfrijit.
  16. Do you have a number for the Mor Phrom helpline?
  17. You might want to take the 5th, but it seems your payments undergo two currency exchanges en route to their final destination. So why not pay straight into your Thai bank?
  18. For the US, from their CDC site: "You must be fully vaccinated to travel to the United States by plane if you are a non-U.S. citizen, non-U.S. immigrant (not a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, or traveling to the United States on an immigrant visa). Only limited exceptions apply." The same goes for almost every country in the world. Except yours, it seems.
  19. Nor do you. And I can see it now. 6' high banner at all international airport Arrivals. "Welcome to Thailand. Remember! This is not your country. You are just a tourist. You have no rights here. PS No refunds."
  20. Meanwhile we have to endure baboon like troupes of Bangkokkers squatting all over Pattaya and Jomtien beaches, leaving behind a mountain of <deleted> in the wee hours, all a-swillin' and a-gluggin', awful crappy music blaring out of awful crappy speakers. Go home hiso!
