A reminder to all ... the attack happened at 8 am near a 7-11.

My wife told me about a good policeman in her province adjoining Bangkok. He was murdered.

It will be considerably reduced when and only when they take Prime Minister Prayut seriously. This means jail time.

At least Erdigan knows what he is doing. The hapless EU leaders would be floundering without him. Hell ... give Turkey some more money .. why not? Oh ...and why not send all the migrants to Europe. We know the terrorism has nothing to do with Islam. All they need is hugs, money and a house.

Last year in Pattaya the police had every white faced foreigner on a motorbike at the police station paying a 400 Baht fine for not having an "International Driving License" and I was one of them. This was about 11am. They had a few Thais too for helmet violation.

There was a Europe of 1933 that had weak leadership and denial of the existence of a clear and present danger. I think Europe today is similar.
The media has painted migrants/refugees with the same broad brush ... helpless, homeless and starving women, children and old men. This is wrong. It is equally wrong to paint all legitimate refugees as opportunists/ predators and terrorists.
I would say the majority of illegal migrant males of military age are definitely opportunists/predators with nothing to lose.

Erdogan is way overdue for his 72 virgins.

Well ... I certainly the passengers don't get fined for overstaying their visa if they have been hospitalized.
I heard of that happening before. One would think Immigration would have provisions for extraordinary circumstances.

Seems to be a common excuse for a violent attack on tourists.
Pay when served ... problem solved.

If there were serious penalties and these penalties were enforced, traffic deaths in Thailand would be cut in half.

130,000 Baht for motorbike injury? I'd sure like to know how serious her injuries were before I pass judgement.

I am sure she privately feels elated because it could bail her a## out of the mess she created.
If I didn't have a personal interest in Germany I'd say make a corridor strait from Greece to Germany.
Being just plain stupid does have consequences.

This insults the intelligence. Well the EU leaders ain't so intelligent so I'm sure they think it is a good thing. After all, Erdogan and Davutoglu pretty much told the EU to kiss their A$$ and the EU "leaders" were happy to do it with what? I forget ... 6 billion Euros and a free pass, visa free to the EU?
Look out Mutti here we come.
Yours sincerely,
Abu al-Baghdadi

So ... six bosses were identified ... was anybody arrested? I read it twice.
-
Lets see ... how many years did the EU leaders have summits and meetings when Sarajevo and Bosnia were under siege, residents were starving, neighbor was killing neighbor and snipers were picking-off women, children and old folks?
Time for an American style voter revolution in Europe.

1. If a tourist ends up at the hospital as a result of an assault by a Thai or vehicle accident the fault of a Thai ... the government should take responsibility since Thais don't carry insurance.
2. The Thai government could enter an agreement with foreign governments that provide national health coverage and recover their costs.
Don't just cry about it ... do something. Make policy.

Perhaps catching tourists on 50cc motorbikes without an international driving license is top priority in Pattaya. Never mind the jet ski scams. Too hot for police to touch now after YouTube videos came out.

You can't use the acronym FUBAR on this forum but all I can say is the way EU "leaders" have handled Turkey from day one is Foobar.
Turkey is mocking the EU, NATO and the USA ... Turkey is shelling the Kurds while they are actively in firefights with ISIS ... taking over newspapers ... jailing intellectuals and news reporters ... caring for ISIS fighters in their hospitals ... aiding the supply of arms and ammunition to ISIS ... the Turkish coast guard lets migrant boats leave unhindered (BBC video) ....
Turkey mocks the EU ... AND ... what do the EU "leaders" do? ... give Turkey billions of Euros and visa-free passes into the EU. I have never seen STUPID quite like this before.
God I hope the UK opts out of this abortion called the EU.

Why the hell do we need privately owned media in Europe anymore? They are state spokesmen now, not reporters so why continue the charade? The multiple cover-ups by the media since the migrant crisis have shown them for what they are. Everybody knows.

Using the term "navy Seal" in a headline to characterize some Thai navy guy is misleading journalism. There is only one brand of Navy Seal and that is the US Navy Seals. Hijacking their name and brand tro attempt to create sensational headlines is a disgrace.
The headline is not misleading and is accurate and have been an active unit since 1956 - Royal Thai Navy SEALs
Well ... Thailand is known to rip-off copies of just about everything ... medals, ribbons, badges and wings are as common as jelly beans in a candy store.
The US Navy SEALS did not exist in 1954 or1956 ... In 1954 and 1956 it was called UDT or Underwater Demolition Team in spite of what Wikipidia says. UDT morphed into the SEALS in the 1960s. There is a serious sc**w-up with information if the Thai "SEALS" were reportedly formed in 1954 unless the US Navy SEALS copied the Thai Navy SEALS.
Anybody can write an entry in Wikipedia. I can't reason why a very poor, undeveloped country in 1954 would want or need, much less afford, special military units like SEALS. Training is very expensive.

Expect a lenient sentence after several years of wrangling in the legal system.
It's hard for people from the West to digest the fact that things like this do not result in jail time in Thailand.
