A lot of locals walking about in the wee hours of the morning?
-
Yep ... just like stopping the motorbikes zipping down the sidewalks at 20 kp/h.

Window dressing. Erdogan has boasted that he is proud of boldly blackmailing EU leaders into paying him protection money.

Damn! My company had to pay for advertising. These people should get at least $100 a week for being a walking billboard.

A major raid by the U.S. on an Islamic State safe house in Syria in the summer of 2015 gleaned large amounts of intelligence undeniably linking Turkey to the Islamic State.

Korat? Why Korat? Will that line get a return on investment within 200 years?

It just gets stupider and stupider.

CNN interviews with EU counter-terrorism officials and Interpol ... their answers showed a a considerably high level of incompetency.
CNN interview with a Belgium Muslim father who reported that his son had been radicalized and was going to Syria. Police response was ... "Who would want to go to Syria?"
CNN interview with Belgium Muslim teen who called police and said his brother was going to Syria to fight with ISIS. Police response was ... "What can we do about it?"

Sorry ... don't understand Thai thinking.

I agree with most ops. With all the serious crime in Pattaya why worry about the little woman selling fruit? I understand regulations are regulations but there should be priorities.

Hope William has been cast as a prop. Wouldn't that be ironic?

Another "Duh" moment.

One thing is clear. The European intelligence services cannot protect the people from Muslim terrorists. This is not to say they are incompetent, rather it is a reflection of the weak, timid, unassertive, and ineffectual political leadership who oversee the funding and capabilities of the intelligence services.

So he drives anyway ... so what? He pays the fine ... a minor inconvenience ... police save face.
Thailand has lost face.
New York Post story on this and the other rich kid murderers who go unpunished.

What makes the Muslim migrants/immigrants/first generation nationals different, is that they adhere to Salafism or the Wahhabi ideology. These ideologies advocate that Muslims are superior to non-Muslims who are little better than animals. So it is written. They demand Sharia law in their host country and even set-up Sharia zones that reject civil law of the land. It not surprising they hate their host country full of Kafirs and all the "un-Islamic" behavior. This religious ideology combined with the weak, timid, unassertive, and ineffectual political leadership is the root cause of the migrant situation in Europe today. The secular Muslims will suffer because of the actions of the fundamentalist Muslims that attack their host country. Here is an interesting story. http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/7648/denmark-sharia

I think a likely scenario for a terrorist attack in Thailand would be a beach assault on tourists. Could the RTP deal with that?

E-Z out. There is no way to prove Jenphop Weeraporn was DUI unless they took a blood sample at the hospital.
If there had been a blood sample I am sure the police would have released that information.
Jenphop Weeraporn will have the case dropped against him in a year or so for lack of evidence.
Thai justice is like a soap opera. The ending is so predictable.
A manslaughter charge which the police opted out of, would stick.
Oh ... my wife (Thai) predicted they would say he was on medication therefore a very light penalty.

All the Thais I know think this case will go the way of the rich girl who killed 9 people in a van and got community service.
She did not do the community service and police haven't a clue what to do next.

Interesting thought. The popularity of dash-cams may become the prime mover of changing how Thais drive.
I am certain that if this dash cam video had not existed and posted the hit-and-run driver would have never turned himself in.

It is difficult for people from developed countries to understand that in Thailand, killing people with an automobile does not carry prison time.
The Benz maniac that just killed two innocent people will receive a similar punishment.
In the meantime, the Thai police don't know what o do with this girl. They are gobsmacked.

They are completely opposite to the people in Taiwan.
Says to me there is a big cultural divide between Taiwanese Chinese and PRC Chinese.
No surprise the Taiwanese don't want to be a part of the PRC.

I've been to three dentists in Thailand. The first two said, "That tooth has to come out" but the third dentist at BNH said ... "Let's see what we can do to fix this." and she did fix it.
