Those volunteer visas take 15 days to process , so today is the last day to apply .
If you can get a 30 day visa extension, that should give you enough time to apply for a volunteer visa.
The talk of a 270 day tourist visa is just talk at the moment and it would probably only be available from Embassys abroad .
You could wait until September 24 th and then apply for a 30 day visa extension and then apply for a volunteer visa
Depends on what visa you are on now. It was 15 days for those on tourist visas

What did the agent offer you at this point? Because all agents I know had a deadline of mid last week as their dubious process takes 2-3 weeks.
Tomorrow there are 10 days (not business days) left until the amnesty expires. Not sure if anything can be done in such little amount of time especially as these "volunteer" visas appear to be processed in some upcountry IO.
the process depends on what visa you are currently on- 1

Well I can’t leave it any longer, off to a visa agent tomorrow!

NOBODY is being hurt by the amnesty, and people are being helped---either Thais who get to keep their jobs because there are people still here staying in hotels, eating in restaurants, taking taxis, having the occasional beer, buying some clothes, etc.......or foreigners who are not risking getting the virus by climbing into a steel tube with 300 other people for 10-25 hours and then resuming life in lands where the virus is still rampant. Those of us who have enjoyed Thailand's generosity are grateful for what we've been given, and many would gladly accept more, as it only has benefits to both us and Thailand.
If it is LEGAL to stay, many will stay. If extensions are granted, many will stay. It shouldn't matter to you one whit.
you get people like this on TVthe holier than thou, “chuck em all out” crowd.
just ignore them.

That would be for the 30 day tourist visa extensions .
If you want to change a tourist visa to a long term visa, it takes a minimum of 15 days , some agencies require 21 days to process the application
I’m on Non B multi, before they were saying no problem just come before 26th.now I get a message saying have to come before Monday
eh?

When does the 90 day permission to stay start? On Sept. 26th or the day the visa is processed by immigration? If they start counting on the day immigration stamps your passport, then when is the last day you can apply for extensions through agents?
I know you didn’t ask me, but the agent I spoke to today said they won’t even submit the application till 24th so you get the full 90 days after amnesty -

Medical treatment, attending a informal school and volunteering are the only 90 day extension that may be possible.
thanks, so are they most likely just offering a 90 day volunteer visa then. -
Hi, I’m on a Non-B multi entry, a visa agent has offered me a 90 day extension of stay for a price.
what is this? I can’t find information about it online. Is this preferable to changing to a 90 day volunteer visa? I only need to stay till December

“Very restrictive Visa rules???”
in Thailand? What are you talking about. It has some of the loosest visa rules in the whole world

No need to bring more visa artists/tourists.
Many flights out of LOS available.
Just today there are flights to SIN, KUL, MNL, DOH, HKG, HGH, CAN, CCU.
Most of them left on time.
So what are you talking about nobody can leave LOS?
And you have checked the connecting flights out of those locations?

Land borders closed and hardly any flights. My money is on an extension. Immigration are tough on people they think are gaming the visa system, but that's not the case here
Let’s face it, they aren’t really tough on them, are they?
how many people have been able to game the system for decades? Worst they ever get is a few questions on arrival or have to provide additional documents when applying for new Visas

Ha! brilliant 'makes it more difficult for the rest of us'
ive heard that so many times. How on earth someone staying on amnesty whilst they’re is a global epidemic going on makes anything more difficult for Brian from Dulwich who as been here for 22 years is beyond me.
how do you get to that point in life where things that don’t affect you in any way become terribly important?- 6

Oh I’ve heard it, usual types, sat at the bar
”you had 4 months, you should have gone by now”
”I’ve got a proper visa, I don’t see why you should be allowed to stay here for free”
Etc

... who are FURIOUS and DESPERATE for the amnesty to end so that visitors will get kicked out in 2 weeks?
what drives a person to get angry because other people’s lives aren’t inconvenienced enough by COVID19?
“I think they should kick them out”- 11

One agent, who you'd think would be sympathetic to the plight of farangs "trapped" here, told me that there's been no difficulty in flying out of the country for months now, everyone has had their chance and if they haven't taken it then that's their problem. Whether this was really his own view or he was saying something that reflected what he'd heard in the Immigration office I have no idea, but if farangs are getting cheesed off with things you can imagine the Thai government probably isn't over the moon about matters.
Why would anyone get “cheesed off” About someone being on amnesty when it affects them precisely ZERO
what am I talking about? I’ve met so many expats here who are FURIOUS about things that have nothing whatsoever to do with them

People trying to extend are being told to wait for announcement.
so it looks like there will be some solution soon.
highly doubt anyone is getting kicked out- 1
-
I’m considering this visa just because I HAVE to stay here till mid September
but worried about the turnaround time of 3 to 4 weeks tho
do they keep your passport the entire time?
-
Did he actually mention the amnesty, or just say that they won’t be issuing letters?
Who is using an agent to get a visa extension next week if amnesty is not extended ?
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

not actually true, it depends what visa you are already on
