  1. NCA is one of the best out there. I have not heard of delays nor accidents with them, but on other carriers it happens more times than I would like to hear about

June is a slower time, and they have many going to Bangkok nightly from Chiang Mai. Cost was just under 800 bt. last time I used them. Usually I just got my ticket that day.

Chaing Mai Bus station is out by the super highway and most anyone knows where it is to help you. They have long term parking there of just take a taxi or tuk tuk.

As a side note, A few weeks back I was rear ended by a Siam Tour bus. Driver was sited for causing an accident. turns out we both had the same insurance company and the insurance adjuster said they have no insurance to help any passengers should there be a problem or accident. So be advised you maybe on your own if somethings happens

  2. LPG and NGV are not the same

LPG work in a car or truck made for LPG

NGV and CNG is the same thing

Just like gas won't work in a diesel Pick up or Diesel in a Gas car

had 25% success rare today . . . We will see what happens tomorrow

  3. Can I take my big bike ?

    Joking . . .

The caves in samoeng are well worth a stop and a few minutes to explore. No charge and restrooms if any rider needs.

I may need to work and won't know until the day so we will see . . .

At any rate, "Happy trails" and my wave 125 is full and ready if needed

  4. For a recent accident with a tour bus that rear ended me, I contacted the police and My insurance company. both arrived. Driver was sited, my insurance will pay to fix my truck.

As a side note, my insurance company also covered the Bus company. They have only base insurance and covers no loss or injury to any passenger. Nice to know with all the bus accidents we hear about. Seems the passengers are on their own if something happend

  5. What's up with Chiang Rai and NGV ?

I drive from CM to CR 2 or 3 times a week. The station near the white temple always says they are out but seem to be always filling trucks and Mini vans. The PTT station seems to be hit and miss, only lucky there half the time.

  6. At a guess, immigration do 8000 - 10000 extensions a year, based on between 30 and 40 a working day.

Of the foreigners I know staying more than 6 months a year, 75% extend at immigration annually. My guess would be 12-15,000. Many more short term starters each year.

I live here year round. I don't visit immigration. I doubt I'm the only one.

You are most certainly not. I know of two others who are here without current Visa's, one doesn't have a Passport either. Not my business so good luck to you all.

Some of us don't legally need to visit immigration on the type of visa we have

  7. Indeed good news for the region.

SQ just sold their 49% share in Virgin to focus on India/China - combined population of 2.7 billion, FD gets it carve out a niche.

For those interested look at the range of the A320. I would shave a few cm off that map, the LCC's usually are packed, but you can clearly see the the region has huge potential.

Photo is wrong, New Airbus 320 will have sharklets for a 4% fuel saving

  8. I had ordered a Nissan from the shop near the airport and waited and waited. 18 months and got tired so called a Bangkok shop who could get any car I wanted in 24 hours from the factory. I did, Just ordered my third nissan from BKK

Some shops need to learn about customer service

  9. Not sure many in Thailand would call your D tracker small, being bigger than 99.5% of bikes on the road, however I do have both a truck, Mitsubishi Triton Mega cab CNG and D tracker as well as other bikes. With the tail gate down not a week goes by that I am not trucking a bike here or there for someone. The CNG keeps my cost down to below what it cost to drive my D tracker per km and though it is a small extra cab bench as a back seat, I have never had a complaint from anyone who rides there. The 4 door model without CNG has a larger bed area if you needed doors and real seats
