Do you have replacement coverage ?
Feel lucky for the 10.000 My bet is what you rented or hired was not the same as what you had in the shop either

The Almera is a well made car and is very inexpensive to repair. Most defect would show up in the first few months. I have seen one with CNG (NGV) but the tank takes up 1/3 or the truck (Boot) space. I am a big fan of NGV but don't like the loss of space. I have seen a few LPG conversions with "donut" tanks in the place of the spare tire. With NGV cost per km is about 50 stang, with LPG it is closer to 60 stang per km both big saving.
I was called today my New Almera will be in tomorrow and will convert it in 2 months

Every year I get a new work permit. it is about 400 pages every year and take 2 office girls nearly 4 weeks to prepare. Once I have that I have to prepare the same 400 pages for immigration because I guess they don't trust the Thai labor department. Then every year, they interview all 89 employees at my work to check if I really do work there, each and every one.
Why not make it a little easier to get a work permit. And I know a few Expats working at Government schools where the government didn't want to bother getting the proper work permit

My friend moved there after marrying a Filipino. He lived here a while and just returned for a visit. He says he likes it here better in Thailand, but go find out for your self. Go for 6 months and check it out

Sadly the government is not serious about traffic deaths, smoke and the north, Scams against tourist . . .
The list goes on and on

Even with the higher cost, the price is still much lower than the co pay most everywhere else
For years I have received wonderful care at government hospitals equal or better than back home

I have looked at them. And wondered if it was up to what I want to use it for. We would be happy to hear about your experiences with this trucklet
Fuel economy ? Power ? Top speed ? Any problems ? How it drives ?

In my experience, is there ever a train ride worth remembering ?

Maybe my information is off, but one difference between this Lifan 110 engine and the Wave 110 engine seems to be the bore and stroke:
The honda is a long stroker at 55.6, with a narrow bore of 50 and a total displacement of 109.1cc, while the Lifan has a short stroke of 49.5 and a bigger bore of 52.4, for a total displacement a bit smaller at 106.72 (but presumably still large enough they feel validated in rounding it up to 110).
I've no idea if these differences would be noticable in such small bikes, but perhaps?
The Lifan is a 109cc motor. I will find out the bore and stroke. But my guess is maybe yes as the Lifan has more torque than my wave by far and less top end

Carpet or Rugs ?
A Carpet store is on Highway 1317 right near airport plaza
-
I have seen them at the Night bazaar, many of the markets, and even at a shop in the walk ways down stairs at Big C near the airport.

When my best friend died when we were traveling here 3 years back, everyone was more than helpful. I was just a friend nothing more, but the body was sent and handled just how I wanted and everything was very easy.
I would assume is one is really married to a Thai, the spouse would have little trouble and getting things done as I have seem before.
If it's just some bar girl, or other rented girl you call your girl friend, yes, they may want to contact family or your Embassy.
I'm afraid it's not the simple here. Even a lawfully wedded spouse of decades duration needs a document from the foreigner's Embassy in order for the morgue to release the body.
I am afraid you don't know what your talking about. Friend died and I did just that. Did you ever have to deal with a death here ? really ? And Married, truly, to a Thai and living here, the Embassy has nothing to do with it.

So far with a new tight engine the bike is averaging 51.2 kpl
Asked my wife who drives it from time to time, she say the seat is higher than the Wave and she does not like it as well because it is harder, the wave is soft. This is one of the reasons I like it. The wave bottomed out many times ans was like a Pogo stick This bike the shock are firm and Have not bottomed out yet.
Today for those in the north, I took it on the Somoeng Loop. A mini Mae Hong Son loop with constant twist and turns in the hills for about 100 km. I had a blast. Handled wonderful. Was riding with a new Click 125i Where the Ares was mostly ahead, it could use more power in some of the hills but does feel like it has more Torque than the Wave. But my guess was the Ares was quicker due to rider skill more than Bike ability

Well, I'm keeping an eye on the Lifan 200 Cross reports. But QC seem to be a major concern, also for their 250 cc V-twin (Yamaha Virago copy).
Jeff, when you sell your bike, how much do you reckon you will get for it @ 20,000 km and after 1 year? Good luck getting more than 11,000 Baht!
As the cold start accounts for some 95% of an engine's wear & tear, your long rides mean that the average abuse of very many very short rides is far tougher.
Enjoy your trips!
Chris
So far quality is very good, but time will tell all . . .
I was into my wave 50,000 and got 34,000 with 18,000 km on it so a 64% return. Purchasing the Ares at 29,000bt So if I get 18,500 it would be the same. Honestly Maybe 15,000 bt but again, time will tell
The bike takes my daughter to school and home again every day, 7-11 runs, to big C so I would say most of it will be short cold runs. But for a good test there will be some long ones too.

You can order a R1 or R6 there so yes, They sell big sports bikes there if you have the cash as with the import tax they are spendy !

120 barely legal, 150 not legal anywhere in Thailand And if only 400 a day what do you do after 3 hours of riding ?
If I may suggest some nice routes to CM. Just before Tak go over to Mae Sot and up is nice route or Stop by the dam just noth of Tak for the night and hit 106 in Thoen up to Chaing Mai
As an added note, in three locations between BKK and CM the Highway police are now using speed radar. On guy hidden in the trees or on the side at a house and just around the bend . . .
