There are many of them at Rimping, both Thai made which is good or Dorritos or others.

In Thailand it's called Pinto or ปิ่นโต delivery . So you don't need a chef. S&P used to do it but not sure if they still do it. Many restaurant do this e.g Lemon Tree they also do Pinto delivery (I think)

But like the above said, Meal on wheel is a good choice.

No don't notice a thing. Basically most produce I eat are grown or make here in CM from cheese, bread, bottle water, etc..

If you ask any Chiang Maians about flood they will say WAT FLOOD?

You think they don't listen because

You are a farang

You are a foreigner

You are not Thai

I don't know the real situation you are in but chances are it has nothing to do with being a foreigner.

Perhaps because.. but may not be the case at all but often I see farang make mistakes and most Thai just like other nationality may ignore you because:

You don't understand Thai mentality!

You don't understand the Thai social dynamic!

You can't speak Thai!

You don't know what they want!

Thai society is different, even lower class don't speak the same as the higher class, unlike in the western world.

There used to be quite a large community 20 years ago but has dwindled as the tobacco industry moved elsewhere. As other posters mentioned:

• They are still always at the UN Irish Pub when the Springboks are playing
• Several of them are members of the Gymkhana Club and you might catch them there on a Friday evening
• The Pub also used to be a regular hangout but not sure about that now.
• They have always played a big part in the Chiangmai Cricket Sixes
• The tobacco factories were located in Lamphun, not Lampang.

Many people want to blend in and doesn't want to create a scene that they are foreigner.

Sound great. I've never had any real Indonesian food before. How about you some Indonesian food like nasi goreng and I'll make you some Chicken Biryani (Indian Style with basmati) or other thing you may like and we swap the dish!

I have lived in Indonesia for the past 3 years, have enjoyed a great deal of their cuisine, all the dishes are made readily from ingredients found in Thailand. From beef rendang, to nasi goreng, mie goreng, bakso soup I make them all. I enjoy Thai food with the same enthusiasm. It's said on the local facebook that cool season indeed arrive mid October which is tomorrow perhaps it will start exactly tomorrow!

Some girl at Rimping says it's getting cooler at night where she lives and some fog in the morning. I hardly notice the temp drop.

Good luck finding items you were looking for. I've never seen or heard any items from Indonesia on sale in Chiang Mai except Kopi Luwak. Sometime I think local people don' even know where Indonesia is.

Great idea although would be great to have a nice photo. 35 baht is a very good price.
