hi there
yes you can use your thai atm card here in the uk ,we both have bangkok bank atm cards here and we can use them here, the only problem we have found is getting money on your card from the uk,it cost money,so if we need money on card we send it to mum in thailand and she goes to bank.
if there is any charges they are very small,we have not found we have lost any fees
hope this helps

hello there if your thai wife is in the uk and you wish to visit a eu country (AS A SPOUSE OF AN EUROPEAN UNION CITIZEN) i would say go to the french embassy in london
(WE DID THIS YESTERDAY) you will need the following: 2 passport photos of your wife, her passport and your passport, marriage cert translated into english and stamped by an embassy etc,And a completed application form and photocopies of both passports, marriage cert, and wedding cert, (VERY INPORTANT DO NOT FORGET PHOTOCOPIES) You will have to make a appiontment which you can do on line ,and the cost is free once you have the visa you can visit any eu country. do not forget appionment letter or you will not get in,

hi there
yes your partner will be able to get free nhs when in the uk, just go to your doctors, But will not get a National Insurance Number until he/she is working remembering you can only work if you have a settlement visa or leave to remain,You cannot work on vist visa etc

hi there i agree with britmaveric 4 days is very quick to think of marriage,i think you should go back first and spend some more time with her, also keep all photos ,emails ,phone call records etc because you will need them for visa application,i am form the uk so not sure on how us visa worksbut iam sure if you do some looking on this furum you will find stuff that will help, make sure ask lots off questions and you will get answers, just make sure you do plenty off home work before you go any further

hi there mikeybee just a bit off advice when you get married dont forget to get your marriage papers translated back into english and stamped by the thai or british embassy as you will need this if and when you apply for ilr for your wife,as it will be cheaper there in bangkok.
all the best to you both

hello there probally not in right forum but iam sure some one will put right
we have just returned from bkk after 16 day holiday to see wifes family ,when we got to airport and went to get taxi they said 800 bhat to holiday mansion wireless road, so we said no and got down to 500 bhat, when got there we found out that that was to much, anyway on our return to the airport we got taxi who put meter on and the price was 205 bhat, yes 205 bhat ,so all take note that the taxis will try and rip you off as they did at old airport, all found out the a friend paid 800 bhat to get to pattaya ,
all the best to forum readers,
so glad to be back in the cold and wet weather.
because it was so hot in bkk only about 30
