  1. All I'll say is that politicians should avoid the "regular guy/beer" BS. I've never seen it look good for anyone. And as one wag said, it looks even worse when there's a hurricane bearing down on the USA.
  2. I don't think Harris will beat Biden's remarkable turnout of 81 million this year so I haven't included that as a poll option. Early voting looks patchy and I noted Obama saying the same thing in regards to African-American voting - in particular, A-A men. Which voting band do you think the winner will hit? Trump was just under 75 million last time, will he go higher? Or will Harris shed a few million votes and still beat Trump with under 75 million votes?
  3. Utter drivel. Obama cleared the way for the Iranian nuclear programme and no person of knowledge would even remotely deny that. I remember the collective astonishment when Obama made the announcement, even Democrats were stunned. Also, drivel. Many companies relocated outside China to avoid the tariffs, one particular net gainer was Mexico and that suits the US as good job prospects in Mexico reduce the immigration pull factor. You really need to do some research, Bild. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-68825118
  4. I'm fine with that. Thailand has a visible sex trade and I have no problems with the guys who are honest enough to tell you that they are only here for the tail.
  5. Years ago I met a guy who had been in Patts 63 times and nowhere else, not even BKK for a night. I don't have a problem with that, as long as he's happy. A lot of farang men would enjoy life more if they were a wee bit more adventurous. A couple of road trips to see a different part of life would be a great thing. I'd like to see them just give themselves a chance, as you did.
  6. You are a prime example of what I'm talking about. Just unbelievable stuff.
  7. I agree with that. We all have our own Thailand and people like me have several versions as we float between tourist Thailand, expat Thailand, urban Thai and, rural Thai. I don't have a problem with the sex tourists who are world experts on one square mile of Pattaya until they start talking about life in a Thai village. We all have our own version of Thailand. If you know about Pattaya, great - about life in a Thai village, excellent - create your own bubble but make sure the bubble isn't marked "delusion - made in your own head."
  8. And that's enough. My Thai is not up to standard but I can hold my own. I only ask people who live in the country can function enough to say things like "where is the toilet" or "not spicy please." In fact, maybe roll out fancy phrases such as "how much?" and know what is said in reply. That would be a great start.
  9. There's a difference between looking for guidance and needing a carer for your basic human needs.
  10. No one is asking you to be fluent. Fluency in Thai is near on impossible for foreigners. The ability to count and ask where the toilet is would be a great start.
  11. Interesting you say "illusion." Illusion is fine - delusion is something else altogether and far too many expats throughout the world live in a state of delusion. Experienced expats know that - from the beaches of Spain to the oil-rich compounds of Saudi Arabia, there's always someone living in a fantasy world/ A world which will inevitably crash and burn.
  12. The worst I ever met was a man who boasted about visiting Thailand for the first time in 1969, and who had been married to a Thai while living in Thailand for 16 years. This guy did not know the Thai word for toilet. My mutual friend told me that his Thai family treat him as if he was intellectually disabled. Truthfully, he deserves it.
  13. Far too many "expats" in Thailand are effectively adult special needs children. They rely upon their "wives" who are effectively care workers to wheel them through life, holding their hands like the old blue bus brigade we used to see going to special schools back in the UK. This is the same brigade that go red with rage when immigrants refuse to integrate into their home countries. The hypocrisy is astounding and any man that sets out to reduce themselves to the intellectual capacity of a child in society has something wrong with their head.
  14. I'm not obsessing about anything. I'm pointing out the bare faced lie by 51 intelligence officers. A lie Democats believed.
  15. And.......you're just being pathetic again. This is exactly what I mean. 51 intelligence agents say the laptop is Russian disinformation. Three years later the FBI testify under oath the laptop is real. inderpland goes on a merry-go-round of obfuscation of utter drivel. Hilarious.
  16. Pathetic. This is MTG levels of obfuscation, utterly pathetic.
  17. You forgot the part where the FBI testified the laptop was real. Why did you chose to ignore that?
  18. Have you checked how much is owed to the hospital? Also, if its a UK state pension then the pension is now defunct.
  19. You mean the laptop where the FBI admitted under oath in a court of law that the contents of the laptop were real? And Hunter was convicted? That one? 😬
  20. I've got to say - anyone accusing MAGA of "conspiracy theories" who believed the well debunked Russia Hoax and "51 intelligence agents/Biden laptop" stories should sit this one out. We now have a nutter on here convinced that Trump is going to perpetrate some form of a coup and prevent President-elect Harris from being inaugurated if she wins. Anyway - all Democrats should be forced to recount "I never believed the Russia Hoax" before posting on the Internet. There would be silence cos they showed themselves to be the most gullible constituents on planet earth.
  21. I was trying to be nice but I must say threads like this show there's something fundamentally evil within the expatriate community. And that's not an exaggeration.
  22. Why are you are you arguing with me? I have no idea why two 14 year olds were on the streets at 5am, maybe they were heading to the market to help their families? But I do know is that it takes a special kind of dumb to post "taxis are plentiful" on a topic where the OP states the kids ran out of fuel and had to summon help. By the way - there are zero taxis or tuk-tuks in my village, not a single one. Nada, zilch.
  23. The places I frequent? Oh, just be quiet. What was that I was saying about morons again?
  24. 5am in Thailand. Tell me how you would use public transport. Not taxis. Public transport to get home. Some of you need to wake up
