BANGKOK, 5 November 2013 (NNT) - According to reports, A rear tyre on the right undercarriage of Thai Airways International flight TG 130 burst shortly after the plane touched down on the runway at Mae Fa Luang airport in Chiang Rai province on Tuesday. No injuries were reported.

The incident occurred about 9.29am, reports said.

After the incident, the captain guided the aircraft to a parking bay without further incident and all passengers were safely disembarked.

Reportedly, THAI staffs are looking into the cause of the incident and the tyre was replaced.

Reports further stated that the THAI board chairman has come out to say that the tyre did not burst, but only "deflated" after landing.

Pretty easy to see that the brakes remained locked on this wheel, and the tire was dragged in one position until the tire burst from lack of rubber. Not unusual to have this happen, but unusual to make up a story about what happened. Interesting to see what a 4 month investigation will unveil. Overweight stewardesses???

Well spotted Stoli. Even a blind man can see that.

  2. I knew Ray as well. He lived not far from me in the UK. It's true he was very ill and dying and not long before he was killed, he was attacked and had his arm broken. On the day he died, his wife phoned a mate of me and Ray FROM THE MARKET to say that she thought there was a problem at her house. So my mate went round to the house and found the door open and his body on the floor. My question is this. If she's at the market, how the hell ( best place for her) does she know there's a problem at home?

Weeelll. The next door neighbour could have phoned her???

  3. Just an other example where the foreigner is only seen as a cash cow while she takes a Thai lover to satisfy her needs. Not so strange actually probably a high age difference between wife an the foreigner. Poor was probably worth more dead then alive. Hope they punish them all harsh.. but I won't hold my breath.

I knew Ray and I knew his wife. The photos flatter her.

A friend called me last week and told me Fon had been given the death sentence and her BF 30 years.

I'm thinking now that her brother's timely reappearance may be part of a bargain to reduce her punishment to a long prison sentence.

At the time of his murder Ray had cancer of the throat. She couldn't wait..........

Poor bugger - what a bitch! Should be given 30 years followed by the death penalty.

Na. Death penalty straight away. Frees up space in the over crowded prisons.

  4. Why are so many of you anti drug dealer yet you have no trouble buying the same from a doctor or pharmacist. I would ask understanding rather than condemnation. This guy is about to have his whole llife ripped apart by the US probably forever unless he has a hell of a lot of money for a very good lawyer:)

Because the vast majority of us can see the distinction between the death & destruction this guy traffics in, and the aspirin & cough syrup purchased at the local pharmacy. And no, the US isnt ripping his life apart: he did that to himself! ...and to countless others. Yeap, he can have my "understanding" alright.

"death & destruction" - how can you say this without knowing, exactly, what drugs he was trafficking into the US?

Sure, it was probably heroin, cocaine or ice, but it could have been large quantities of viagra, for example, which I'm sure many members of TV have absolutely no problem buying over the counter of any pharmacy here, and even taking home a box to their own country. In this case, are these people also not "drug trafficking?"

Maybe it was steroids, for gym junkies and athletes in the US. Not much "death and destruction" there.

Maybe he was trafficking large amounts of generic, or "copy" soft drugs, out of India, so, he was effecting the profits of the big pharmaceutical companies.

Maybe he was trafficking in pharmaceutical drugs that have been released in other countries, but not yet deemed for release in The States.

Who knows, but I'll reserve my comments until I know what drugs he was trafficking in.

Really, dude. Do some homework. There's an internet beyond TV you know. This scum is actually a comparatively big fish.

And his mates too. Better write up in the Chiang Rai Times.

  5. On the bright side, that was efficient, on the down side, Thailand needs to start more screening, there are far too many international fugitives heading here.

"Thailand needs to start more screening"

"A New York District Court issued a warrant for his arrest on July 17,” he said.

“He used his passport to enter Thailand at Phuket Airport on September 6

"We were informed by the US Embassy in Bangkok today that Mr Hunter was in Phuket."

Or maybe their countries of origin need to keep track of their "fugitives" and step up screening who's leaving their countries. It seems the US and European borders are awfully porous and the surveillance by the various police forces rather lax. If the US embassy knew his whereabouts at this point, why did the US not know he was travelling out of country in the first place. His passport should have been seized or revoked on July 17th.

Well i suppose you have to wonder where he was in between July 17 & Sept 6???

    Hiding in another country???

Out of Thailand on a visa run seeing he was on a 30 day stay when he arrived on Sept 6!!!

Seeing he was renting a house. Did he do this after his recent arrival or was he already renting it beforehand!!!

We'll leave it up to Inspector Clouseau!!!

  6. are we not allowed to see the names of these 7 bars? im not too worried as i cant stand karaoke and i wont go anywhere near 1 so ill probably be ok but if my lot are out on the lash in CM it would be handy to know where to drag them away from as they need shepparding after the 15th beer or so.....

    my normal experience of a CM bar is this;

"welcome inside, you want some drink?"

"yes please, ill have a san miguel"

    "you buy me drink too?"

"eh? i just got here, youre supposed to say, what your name, where you come from, how long your holiday in thailand? and then i decide if im buying you a drink or not!"

girl bangs san mig down on bar and storms off back out the front with all the other miserable bints to smoke another cigarette and fumble with her phone.

does anyone know any nice bars in CM?

  8. Here's my take. Dad and son somehow cause the band to lose face, most probably by doing something so innocuous it didn't register at the time. Band waits outside for the pair to leave and desperate for revenge, attacks, thinking 3 on 2 should be okay as it's only a dad and son. As most Thai males can't fight for shit without back-up or being tooled-up, they started to get a beating so resort to knifing the dad and then trying to beat the son to death. Band then make up BS excuses (tip-box, didn't stop singing etc.) in order to try to minimize their guilt, similar to that murdering taxi driver in BKK recently. ThaiVisa Thai-wannabes take the BS excuses as fact, even inventing stuff like spitting in a girl's face. Then they try to put the blame on the Americans by excusing the Thai thugs behaviour with the usual 'cultural differences' chestnut.

And yes, some westerners behave boorishly or aggressively when drunk, but often the Thai response (beatings, knifings, murder etc.) is totally over the top and out of proportion to the perceived original 'offence'.

Even if the 'reports' of the Americans bad behavior turns out to be true, it didn't warrant a death sentence.

  11. I just signed up to thaiVisa, Oswald was a kind and generous fellow, things are beign followed up by his friends here. In the meantime perhaps it is best if we focus on RIP for him and his family instead of ametuer sleuthing and off topic discussions of tourist deaths in thailand.

There is a man and family behind this story and he will be greatly missed.

Has it been 6 years since u got that award.??? I got Hot Lips to update the Home Page on the clubs website with a picture tribute. Feel free to view it at www.siamcc.org

  12. seriously a lot of you blokes that are posting here really need to have a long hard look at yourselves, The complete insensitivity and lack of empathy displayed by many symbolises a complete disconnect with the real world. I doubt many of you have any tangible real world relationships with family or friends. Oswald was a much loved man and you are tarnishing his reputation. I suggest you set up your own thread somewhere and compare how empty your lives are.

Hey, all of us are sorry about Oswald. I'm sure he was a lovely bloke.

Don't be offended, though, if the discussion moves beyond memorializing and into an examination of violence in Thailand in general. This is, after all, a discussion board.

I am still pissed off at the photo. sad.png

Your lucky. Some of the cricket fraternity & a work colleague had to identify the body.

  13. Im all for freedom of speech and all, but some of the comments here are a disgrace. Why make a derogitory comment on someones death you know nothing about? Is it to try and portray yourself as being 'smart'? Like someone else said, think if it were your brother or best mate.. How would you feel? What value are you adding to this thread?

    Spot on mate.
