May I ask; When you come back are you using VOA (Visa On Arrival)?

I've done that 2 yrs ago many times. I wonder if it still works?

2 yrs ago, it used to be limited to twice during a calendar year. Then again it did only apply for landcrossings. Afaik, air travel was exempted, but massive reports of entry denial by IO.

That was for back to back tourist visa applications. I don't think it would be a problem now since most people have not been able to apply for them there for almost 2 years.

I went just through my passport which was issued in June 2017. First entry in Thailand was 26 Aug, on an 30 day exempt. Couldn't secure a METV in the consulate in my home country, because the consul was in holiday/business-trip or whatever. (Quite the joke anyways).

Left on Sep 22 on a short bike trip to Lao, returned Sep 27. Left Oct 23 for PNH. That was so far all the visa history in the passport I had, when I applied in person at the PNH Thai embassy.

I got my SETV, however with the stamp....citing:"

Future applications may be denied if there is no sufficient proof that the applicant is travelling for tourism purpose"

So I assume, two exempt entries made me back to back tourist.

i can guess the coming solutions - visitors must buy a special insurance that cover asymptomatic hospitalization. the solution is allways in the way that makes the tourist pay more. but the real outcome is that a growing number of tourists stop seeing thailand as their next destination and forget about it.  thailand lose big time.

Probably you should get an insurance in case your other insurance is not covering whatever they'll come up with.

Of course, this step can be repeated until you run our of insurance companies or money, whatever occurs first.????????????

Establishments breaking the law would face prosecution, closure and the removal of licences.

At least you'll loose that little tax as well, smart move.

I will check next time with my favorite masseuse if she have all the licenses. A HJ-license; BJ-license; a whatever-they-do-nowadays-license.????

The moral of this story is to pay the tiny fee for the sms service.

These notify you immediately of any movements in or out, even of tiny adjustments of a few baht which are incurrred due to forex adjustments for online international payments.

If I recall well it's 20bath a month with BB, and every Monday morning they send an SMS with the account balance, which I'm of course rarely notice, as I'm abroad and my Sim-card is in flight modus. ;D.

I have no Internet banking as that I would know, but I was able to link my card to Line RabbitPay, to keep my Simcard alive, 10bath/transaction. Can't remember that they send a message for such a small amount. Might need to check that next time. Gladly I left with only 10K in my account left, so I can sleep well at night.

  6. This constantly 'confusion', to put it nicely, had actually quite the opposite effect for myself. I cancelled my insurance at all, as the policy went from year to year, over the fear it could not meet the requirements, which were changing from week to week, only hot air but anyways.

Just wonder if there are insurance packages in Thailand you can go just for the time you'll need them, and furthermost one policy which covers the surrounding countries, or ASEAN countries?
