  1. I was specifically asking the same question for an METV, and got confirmation that a flight within 8 months, eventually even 9 months were possible. But I would not take it for granted, if you're facing someone else the day you drop your application.

In my case Mr. Consul was even not in the office for 2 weeks, and nobody else assigned to sign the bloody  visas.

    Sheer incompetence.

It sounds like a stressful situation for you & the dog. I've found my vet to be very fair here & used the same one for 13 years. My 3 female dogs (Bull Terrier, Weimaraner & Dalmatian) were all spayed & are as good as gold, maybe that's an option for the future. Good luck.

Yes, that's a bit of my plan. Actually, I could deal quite well with it the few days she was in heat in the past, you have to be a little bit more on alert.

As I'm planning to spend less time in Thailand, her cycles might be into times when I'm not around. Leaving the bitch to the "Mai Pen Rai- Mentality" of my counterpart, not a very bright idea, isn't it.

I do not trust the local vet, so I would probably opt for the Vet in the University in our province, however 50Km away. I gave my Truck away, for not being the driver for every family member, so that would be a bit of a issue, however the local bus stops only 2 clicks away, and in January the family visits, then I have the renal anyway.

  3. I used to take the taxis on the 4th floor too, many years back. Is it worth it. I doubt. It's more a thing that I can deal with them, than anything else. The probability that you get a foul apple there, I would say is 10:1.

As a first timer who can't speak the lingo, don't know the surroundings, you'll be screwed 1000%.

I could deal with it, but is it worth it? I think NO. I think they have the Buses running again, or use the Skytrain.

    Yes.

While you were away, the place you stayed reported it, so she has to file a TM30 to let them know you are back.

Of course, if you slept under a tree, no need to file when you get back as no one will have reported you as staying elsewhere.

It's so they know where you are.

When they start forcing farangs to wear trackers there will be no need for filing TM 30.

BS, that would assume the trackers would work, and officers know how to work with the data. So the TM30 must remain as a backup.

  5. I went to our local government vet office in the Amphoe, well they usually do the rabies injections, and some other common recurring shots pretty straightforward, but the four "children" who were manning the office seemed to never heard b4 of such thing, or it gets pretty much ignored in Thailand.

Fortunately we have sine a year or so a vet in town. It seems he was knowing what's he doing. But like I expected they are more sales person than vets, I would take her for something more serious there. She got now pills for avoid bacterial infection, however unlikely as she was not sucking on herself, nor lactating. And some other hormones to stop milk producing, however no idea what it actually is. I would have choosen Doxine, but apparently that's on available on 500ug, that would be the 10fold dose for a 10Kg bitch.

    However she's doing OK.

As you're already trying to discourage maternal behaviors by taking away surrogate puppies and nesting sites; disrupt the stimulation of mammary glands or milk production by using Elizabethan collars or t-shirts—they’ll keep your dog from licking the enlarged glands.

Only if she gains more and more weight and acts very suspicious, go to see a vet.

I know that they're almost all there to take way more money than it's worth what they do, but sometimes it's necessary.

Best of luck with your bitch! ????

Thanks mate, as of now, she's not liking herself.

  7. My little bitch has(ve) developed a phantom pregnancy. She's doing quite well now once I took her toys (false puppies) away, however she's still full of milk. After calling my sister, dog owner and breeder for decades, she told me I have to see a vet to get her the right medication, to reduce the milk production.

I'm willing to do so, but just want to have opinions here too, because many times vets here (not only here) do treatments that help more their income than do good for the pet.

  8. Yep, was in the Bank on Monday to get a new card, I left my old one overseas anyway.

It's that thing with the insurance but I believe it to be an accident insurance with a maximum of 5000 per case.

However, I'm still don't know if I could use it in the public hospitals. The girl connected me with their hotline, but honestly I did not know more when leaving the bank than when I entered.

Guess I have to collect my information in the different forums, including this one.

  9. I just (actually on Monday) received an SMS linked to my BB account, be1st I believe they called it.

Transfer/payment from your account X1234 of Bt 599.00 via AUTO system; the available balance is Bt <a number here>.

It wasn't me, so that leaves alone

    A) some account fees. I wasn't aware off.

    B) account compromised

    C) a "misunderstanding" from someone inside. BTW I did a withdrawal the same morning in person as I left my ATM card overseas.

I did not yet update my book, but I doubt it says anything more than the SMS.

I guess I'm getting quicker answers here than actually in my bank, if A is true.

If it's for B or C I guess I need to take the time to investigate.

And getting groped by a load of drunks?

There are many girls working the bars of Thailand who are younger than the legal age of 18, that is true.  But you have to set some age level or the slope gets more slippery than it already is.  Set the bar at 18 and you will always get 17 and some 16 year olds who will slip through the net.  Set the bar at 16 and then you will get girls of 14 and 15 working in these joints.

There are plenty of very savvy 17 year olds who are more than capable of looking after themselves but also many who are still very vulnerable.  These entertainment venues are not like local parish churches and often they use threats to get the girls to do what they want them to do.

A child of any age is probably more safe in a Thai KTV than in a church. Sadly enough.????

  11. Add that to the border/drug/passport checks, then you can add another hour to your journey.

I was in a bus which was stopped 5 times within Golden Triangle to Payao, that's about 200 Km. Usually it's 2 checks.

When they had that bright idea with their GPS control, aka 80KM/h max speed. The usual arrival time moved from ~7:00-7:30 to ~10:00-11:00.

Until now, the VIP bus seems not to be affected with that speed limit, don't know why that is? Only 20 passengers, no double decker, or just light enough that it doesn't climb a hill with 20 KM/h.

BTW, 3 weeks ago I bought a flight ticket for the Missus and her mother 200 bath cheaper than the bus ticket, but I like the fact that the bus drops me literally in front of my door.
