Can we the foreigner get some positive mileage out of this proclamation like printing it on a large banner and posting it in front of the immigration offices around the country...
First question asked. "Did you have a work permit" ????

The double entry visas were existing before. I don't no exactly when they were suspended. Was it under the Yinluck administration, well possible but I doubt it.
So now they're doing like they save tourism, when they succeeded so well in killing it first.

Would it have been racism if it was Ed Sheeran who got pulled up for not switching his laptop off or just Ginger bigotry?
Good point. I never did much research on it if true or not, but someone stated that only Caucasians can be blamed for racism.
I find the statement quite questionable, living in Thailand, I was pretty sure Thais are the most racist people I encountered. Not necessarily against Farangs, but the way they look down at the neighboring countries.
That's why I travel mostly alone to neighboring countries.

Change will come, because of modern technology and the modernizing economy which requires better educated & more competent work slaves.
Come back in 50 years and things will be vastly improved ...
Or they moved back to the caves. But then, I see that as an improvement compared what is now.

The only problem is who's still going @ those ridiculous prices even more worse with the exchange rates.
Those who didn't care have been made unwelcome and live now a happy life next door.

At least she was clever enough to go public. So the whole country knows at what stage the country has become in recent years.

For people interested in the bus from Phnom Penh to Pakse, the only company with direct, reasonably comfortable buses is PP Sonya. To book, see https://ppsoryatransport.com.kh/e-ticket/. For some reason, the service is not well known. It is also possible to negotiate with a taxi to take you (around 10,000 baht iirc). This used to be a long and uncomfortable journey.
I just checked the link. It returns an invalid price, so sure not bookable online. Reviews on TripAdvisor came to the same conclusion. I tried 2 different dates 9&10th.
Sure the Lao path would suit me nice, especially as I'm one of the rare species who got 15 days exemption in Lao.
Pakse, Vientiane, Luang Prabang, and then either boat or bus to HuayXai. Well a trip from hell, or to tell ????.
Costwise probably a nightmare.

Well, thanks for your help anyways. Just booked another ticket on Monday. So I hope they do now not starting problems there.
Checked bus options to one of the northern borders as I'm heading to C.Rai province anyways, but they seem not to exist. Not even to Pakse/Laos.
Guess next time I use my bike.

Sorry just to clarify.
Phnom Pehn stamped you that you "travel too often" on the first SETV in the new passport, with a total history of 2 visa exempt entries not extended?
And is this the visa you will be using to enter Thailand now?
That was the plan.

So new passport 2 visa exempt (by air or land??), and SETV with stamp from PP according to a previous report if i recall correctly about a week ago?
And both visa exempt extended?
Is that the history?
One entry by air, one by land. Both not extended.

We do not know your history, or even if you are trying to enter with a visa or visa exempt. For a first visit to Thailand, Poipet would be completely safe whatever your previous history of visits to Thailand.
If you have spent significant time in Thailand as a tourist before, do not try Poipet if being denied entry would be more than an inconvenience. Instead, go via Koh Kong to Hat Lek in Trad province Thailand.
I'm on a new passport. Unfortunately with 2 exempt entries. I have a SETV issued in Phnom Penh. I left on my old passport in March 26, Returned to BKk on August 26th,
Left in between for Lao 6 days.

How big was the plane? I've never seen a single number for a seat. Invariably 6A or 6B or 6C etc.
It was actually 6C, I asked the guy actually where gate 6C was when this bloody Malaysian plane didn't want to clear the gate????
That's a first for me, I used to have the Star alliance Gold card and the One world Rubin card simultaneously. So I took one or another plane before.
Guess my mind was still with that little Khmer Honey from the day before.????

Missed my flight PNH to BKK this morning, not hangover, just waiting at gate 6 when 6 was the seat number actually ????
I'm looking for options going back to Thailand, have an SETV so wondering if Poipet by bus is still a no-go?
Tickets the next few days seem to be far away from reasonable.
Was asking to go north to another crossing as I'm continuing to the north anyways, but that seems not an option.
Any recommendations?

Im confused... An increase of international passengers transfering to other countries through Thailand? why not say it like that...
Does disturb the fake TAT figures.

Only, well not, but mostly in the US.

Maybe just the regular maintenance rescheduled. A steel plant is a 24/7 operation after all. If they have overproduction it's a wise decision. After all it's a Japanese running business, they could be capable of doing smart moves.

Verbal warning or stamp on the upper part of the visa sticker?
Stamp. There still were lots of agents, and literally 100's of passports lying in a row. Mostly the dark red ones like most Europeans have. Don't remember the colours of Cambodian passports but I would assume it's for them.
When I dropped my papers, only two young guys around. When I picked up, only another guy there. I was called first, despite coming in later. My guess, he got the asscard.

Should give him the introduction page in the TAT brochures.????

Just reporting back. I got a Visa, but already a warning. So two exempt entries are too much already.
I have been out of the country for 5 months straight.
I wish the family wouldn't visit next January. There are basically two ways either checking with Thai to reroute the flight, unlikely. Let them fly to CEI, and bring them straight over the border in Chiang Khong.
My other buddies who wanted visit a bit later I rerouted them to the Phillies already.

Well, nothing heard back yet. So either they let him through or is rotting in the detention cell.
I didn't check that it was becoming so difficult in PNH, so that's off the list for the future. Did drop my application this morning, I don't really expect anything positive. Seems they just take the money and say <deleted> yourself. However I'm on a new Passport with "only" two exemt entries. Tuesday, I'll know.

Just arrived today in Phnom Penh and went to the travel office next to Paddy rice, nowadays called Cheers. Was highly recommended in the past here on TV. He's not willing to do it, so I won't ask anyone else, and move my bloody ass over there myself.
If the Cambodians are not anymore willing to take 10$/passport, for a 2*15 min drive on the scooter. Than the rejection rate might be high.
30 day extension vs. border run
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
Hello and Happy New Year.
My current visa SETV is about to expire in a few days. If nothing has changed I might now have two possibilities.
1. Do the 1900 bath 30 day extension.
2. Do a border run. Choose point of crossing would be Golden Triangle.
I believe neither of the two options look very good on the passport. Costwise the border run is the cheapest option as I'm Visa exempt for Laos.
Further travel plans are leaving for Laos on 22nd this month. Returning 2-3 February, staying less than 30 days, and leave for Europe for 6 months at least.
