Any ideas what the embassies (airlines, Thai officials on arrival) will accept as proof for the CoE? Any bit of paper which looks official-ish?

No idea, I got my second jab today, and a paper with a QR-code. I tried to scan it with my usual QR-app, with no result. I downloaded another app, Green Pass, which displays all relevant information.

No idea, if this is an official app from the EU, or just a smart fellow cracked it already b4 it becomes official.

  2. Prior July 1st, they might come up with an allocated "minder", who will ensure you stay on path, and don't make any comments that would harm the reputation of this supreme holiday resort, and the sandbox crew of course.

Of course you're going to pay for the extra service.????

Well, if those "minders" would be former go-go bar employees, it might become a success story....the only so far.????????????

  3. The question for Thailands tousism sector recovery (and all those (un-)registered businesses attached to)is not when they are open up, but rather if they're ahead of any other SEA holiday destination (plenty to choose).

Knowing Thailand, pretty sure they'll manage to <deleted> up that deadline as well. If so, that would make an impact for the rest of this decade.

Mr Phiphat said that if Thailand can attract 20 million tourists in 2022, then some 6.2 billion baht  could be generated for the fund.

As it looks now, Thailand should be grateful if they could reach 2 million in 2022.

In 2019, a report by Nikkei Asia said that unpaid medical bills in Thai hospitals from tourists costs the state 448 million baht.

Of course there will always be some morons without insurance and funds, and behave like the locals when never used to move a motorized vehicle b4 in their live.

On the other hand, how many ended up in a hospital in an (traffic) accident, where it was clearly not their fault, and the other part had no license and/or insurance, leaving you alone with the costs. Paying that bill wouldn't be my first priority.

Last year Thai media suggested that 34 baht will go towards insurance while the rest would be used for the maintenance and development tourism sites.

So insurance is clear then, doubt you get anything in return. :)

The rest they'll will probably use in implementing the common "dual pricing system" for the few remaining places it's not practice yet.

Does the 300 bath, on top of the 700 bath already included in the ticket prices, influence my decision to come to Thailand.

Nope. The decision to spend the rest of my days somewhere else has fallen already way b4 that.

Unfortunately there is a world shortage of Covid vaccines also bear in mind 2 doses are required within a 4 week period. It is very unlikely Thailand will be able secure and administer sufficient vaccines by July better estimate would be end of this year at best.

Well, that's where Phuket comes in, so they might play with the thought to use all their vaccines there first.
