  1. Hello Scoop1, I forgot to ask you before, where in LOS

are you moving to? Bring your own tom seeds, western

type toms seed is hard to find here.

With all the rain we've been having here, I still have had

a steady supply of Early Jals to flavor my food.

Part of this years hydro & dirt garden, 18 more trays

    seeded yesterday.

Hi Rice , i think i will end up somewhere near nong bua lamphu, , ban knok, where the GF is ,if you want i can send you some seeds from an organic grower here, i go there a fair bit " what ever you want, check out there website, www.greenpatchseeds.com.au, just let me know, its not to expensive to send via the post" i had a request from someone about sending, To Thailand, 5ltr of A and and 5ltr of B to help him get started , Fedex $420 wowwwww, for 11 kg weight, well i guess he will have to wait until i get there and set up, i checked the composition of the ACK stuff and i would not use it.

    cheers

  2. Hi, i dont know if this will help, what i do, i have an acc in Australia and i have a DEBIT card on that account, and the i sent the Debit card to my GF in thailand, and i can put money in that account and she justs goes to the bank or atm and withdraws the money, then its empty, so if it gets skimmed no harm, then i do the same when i need to and she takes it all out at the bank or atm and then its empty. Works great!!!

    Cheers

  4. Hi taipan, the number represents the amount of the particular nutrient in the mix,as a percentage, for example, Calcium Nitrate = 18.8% Calcium and 15.5 Nitrogen, what are you using it for , to fertilize what?

    15-15 15 = 15% Nitrogen 15% Phosphorous 15% Potassium = NPK 15-15-15

    Cheers

  5. It doesnt matter what Visa you get, everyone has to do something at 90 day intervals, either report or border, there is no way out of that.

With a Retirement its quick easy and reporting can be done by Post it also doesnt rely on your relationship.

Study (ED Visa) requires 4 hrs per week attendance.

the retirement visa seems like a lot of information has to be supplied to them , bank acc, and income statements, thats what i was trying to avoid , but as you say its easy, how easy?

If you have the correct paperwork it can be approved then and there. If you were married and asking for an extension then everything is sent to Bangkok for approval, so more waiting.

All you really need is a letter from your Embassy confirming your income (pensions) and a few other things for an extension at Immigration. To get the original visa read the requirements from your nearest Embassy/Consulate.

what if i apply for a non imm visa, and then get an extension for 1 year, what paper work will i need/ sorry to seem so dumb but i just want to get it right, if i get a retirement visa i then cant work, which may be an issue

    cheers

  7. Tourist visa is valid for a certain length of time depending on how many entries you apply for.

If you receive a Non Immigrant Visa from the consulate in your own country, then before it expires you go to Immigration with the paper work (dependant on what the visa is based upon, marriage, retirement), and receive an extension.

Extensions granted in Thailand by Immigration are 1 year long (no border runs, just report every 90 days to your local Immigration office), some extension are given for 60 or 90 days to check on you, then after everything is okay the one year extension should be granted.

so i get non imm visa here in Australia [ how long does that last for ] and then before it expires i apply for an extension? then what happens

  8. Tourist Visa (no commitment)

    Non Immigrant O (other) Marriage

    Non Immigrant OA retirement)

    Non Immigrant B (work/investment)

    Non Immigrant ED (education)

Main options above, marriage well we all know about that.

Retirement get the visa from the Consulate where you live then extend here.

Work have a job before coming.

Investment requires a lot of dosh (money)

Education visa requires a few hours per week learning something.

Remember a multi-entry means a border run every 90 days.

Arrive and get an extension of a Non Immigrant at Immigration in Thailand means no border runs.

Maybe I forgot something, sure others will add or give more information.

Tourist visa is only for 3 months is that right? and , Arrive and get an extension of a Non Immigrant at Immigration in Thailand means no border runs. how long does it last for? i am sorry i am a little confused

  10. Hi all, i need some help locating a decent honest builder, plumber, and electrician, in Ban Khok, Non Udon, Nong Bua Lam Phu, my gf house needs renovation and does anyone know what they charge per hourThank you

  11. Thanks for that info, my gf tells me she has a can, so i guess i will check out the system you mentioned, would you know the cost of setting up this system? she lives in non udon, about 10klm from ban khok

    cheers

    scoop1

  12. I live in the countryside 18km outside of Udon. Most all the homes in the villages have a triple-cement-ring system to catch the waste from toilets. When the rings fill up, a blue vacuum truck comes and sucks everything out.

In most newer homes in the city and increasingly in the villages, people are using the black plastic septic tanks. But that's only been in the past few years.

In all likelihood, you've got a cement-ring system.

The vacuum folks charge about 200 baht per system of rings. You can find the blue trucks most everywhere....even in downtown Udon.

  13. Thank you, i dont know what system is used in this area and the gf does not understand me when i asked, but at the moment it seems like all she has is a can. so i wonder what the cheapest "way out" [ pardon the pun ] i hope they have some sort of septic system, maybe i will get a reply from someone who lives in that area

  14. Hi, all, i would like some help on information on a flushing toilet in Non Udon, Nong Bua Lam Phu, what sort of system is used there? septic, sewer, or can? and how much to install a flushing system? any help from expats living in this area would be great.

    Thank you

  15. Hello Scoop1, This thread:http:

    //www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/152056-hydroponic-farming/

should have the info you need. It's got links to other hydro threads

which has most of the places in LOS that sell chems and STEM's to

mix your own, just like I do.

Single trace elements, salts/chelate's are hard to come by, most

    use micro mixes.

You can, or at least I can here in Korat buy Cal Nit and Pot Nit at

my local Ag store, also MAP & MKP. You got to look.

    rice555

Hi ,Rice555, thank you for the information, i will have to get my mum to send the micros over from oz when i come to live there, i have seen some of the pre-mixes of the suppliers and they seem to be a little dubious to me, i dont think i would use them

  16. Hi can anyone help me with the availability and price of "Technical Grade Fertilizers" in thailand, i will be coming to live there soon and would like to continue with my hydoponic gardening, but i will only use my own nutients for the different crops that i might want to grow, i have been making my own very sucessfull nutrient for many years and would like to continue with that if i can get the raw products.

    Thank you

  17. I checked the map your place is a few kms from Cambodia?

B 60,000 a Month, Gawd mate, live like a king.!!!.I pay B2,500 a month rent -2 storey 3 bedroom house Brand new 2-3 bedroom houses built to approximate Farang standards , rent for a Max. ,B5,000 a month.Love me 'ouse.!!!Medical ? I have used the govt. health care system for 21 years. Never been anywhere near a private "orse piddle"and never will. In February, was diagnosed with Pneumonia AND T.B. + COPD.Spent 6 days in there( total cost ,including ambulance was less than B15,000 . Treatment was excellent. Nurses were wonderful- NOT a dragon amongst them.My G/F stayed with me ,slept on the floor under my bed. Brilliant !!! Looked after me superbly. Much better than Farang hospitals in Farang land. However ,if my treatment was going to cost MORE than a return air fare ,and I was NOT an emergency patient, I would return to Oz as I am an old age pensioner, and therefore get free medical care. But, I must add that the clinics -Which are in nearly every 2nd village and provide FREE treatment for all your odd Simple health problems ,are excellent. And all work to an understanding of what their abilities are. When ,they are out of their depth , you are whisked off to the next level, very quickly, as happened to me. I reckon .that there are many of us living MUCH better than in our home countries AND living ,very happily , on about B30,000 a month. I know ,I am AND that includes supporting a 17year 8 1/2 months preggers + 2 Primary school age kids ( I am not their father)+ the G/F.as well. Somebody on B 60,000 a month -I can only add "charitable donations , accepted with glee"To me !!! Please. B60,000 a month income? ,you will love it here. Unless you live in Pattaya or Phuket.

Well done !! indeed we are .had a few problems with the bombs a short while ago, I can take you on a very short drive and you can see for miles into Cambodia. Very good vantage point. Close to Prasat Ta Muen Tom .which was a flashpoint. But all cool .now .First came to this area 20 years ago. Have been living here for about 12 years. No intention of leaving ,except in a wooden box/

ok tell me more, what is available there and how safe is it down there, i seem to read the problems are muslims want inderpendence is this right ??? and why ?? i do not understand!!!

  18. Very well put!!! i am looking to come live in thailand on 60000/ month, and i will have to pay rent, thats what my wage will be , untill i get my super, i have about 16000 aud as back up, i am now starting to worry???
