  1. I pray to God for them young souls, Amen

God is almighty, isn't he? So he let them die then, did he? Your god apparently thought it was a good idea to burn little girls alive.

Only small-minded people resort to finding God as a scapegoat.

Only small minded people " believe" in god but thats not the subject of this thread

Take responsibility.... people....Think objectively and question intelligently.... Was there a fire Alarm installed in the school. Was there Fire fighting equipment on the premises. What measures were drilled into these children about fire in the building. if there is no explaination.....then it has nothing to do with God. It has to do with humans who ignored their God given capacity to think and plan and save lives. So start again....All institutions that have living quarters, should have fire fighting equipment, this is required by law for Hotels and new building. Upgrade and be prepared.....Its sad that innocent kids who put their trust in adults to look after them were let down intelligently stupid!!!

  2. All one needs to do is examine the world's history to see where this is going...

Sure public profiling and the danger entrusting data to a system that is questioned and does not meet international standards. Perhaps, it.s best if the rest of the world profiles all those Thais residing abroad and their banks affiliations...if they did this before they could have had Thaksin their invisible gangster in the kitty long ago!

  3. When I read stories like these, I am saddened by how I spend my time.

The topic is uncalled for if thai visa wants to be a leading neutral news agency. This is something that some drunks would describe in a pub or a closed group of similar interests at home....I hope the editorship maintains a high standard in content, privacy and journalistic ethics. Why highlight a Kuwaiti....even if it be true. What is the purpose to scorn ..... I am trying to understand the angle. I do in most of my posts try to hit home the need to educate locals and to bring them to being responsible. Thai visa should be a beacon light with the privilages of the platform it has in the eyes of locals and foreigners. I agree with Puukao... We the expat community is looking for authentic content where we can interact with one another to the betterment of our envioroment and society. Not the gossip column for those negatively inclined to get over a chip that they have on their shoulder.

  4. Part of a world wide chain and this action won't sit well with them, bad publicity, think pressure will be bought to bear on social media outside Thailand for the charges to dropped, Defamation should be civil not criminal.

Is it defamation if I say fat lot, or sluggish, injustice and ignorant lot.... am I taken under criminal law...... Phew...Now I know its better to hit the daylights out of someone and blame it on booze and get away with a wai and a smile......Thai style.

  5. hear, hear...

... but please don't forget your own responsibility. In how to raise your kids, how you interact with others, what your values in life are and what those should be. And how you act when you see wrongdoings to yourself and to others...

As mentioned many times before. Thailand needs to instill into its education system. The ability to interact and voice opinions out. This is important in the development of any human being. This will then help the institutions to counteract and educate responsive public behaviour and how to handle it. At the moment they are forced to shut up, accept norms without questioning and there is no outlet for them to question or even voice opinions...this is frowned upon and ssshed. soon the results to resolving any conflict or accidental contact is then voiced physically...they do not know how to interact..let alone talk!..they only learn to shout back and not listen. Habits adopted at home is another area that politicians and society should encourgage.... to stand up and take responsibility for their own actions. or for the home to take action for injustice... Not condone it or run away from it and then blame it on booze and Yaba.... a few excuses and a religious hype. It is mandatory that no one is higher than the law! and those who break it.... no matter who...in the ranks of society, has a consequence to pay. This will curb the increase in unruly behaviour, increased violence and public behaviour. If Thailand is so rich in its culture as it claims then it should show it in its behaviour or else it would end up proving the contrary. Smiles are not enough... Pragmatic action and responsible justice is whats required. Having police who show up after violence has occured on its street is a sign that the force is not pro active. Violence and law breaking are known to everyone after 8;00pm, the times the cops sign off and in local bars that are not regulated by the police. The police seem to have an eye on the foreign bars to pronounce judgement and find a reason to book them, while the local boy bars in the back streets are the festing pots of violence after hours....that the police themselves know but do little to curb. Want to make a change?..... do it properly!

  6. This kind of recognition is a bit pre mature.... dont you think so?

Let me explain in two points.

    1. To thank them for keeping ethical codes and editorial ethics.... would be attributed to someone who has been consequent over years of reporting. Not just a few school looking kids that reported or avoided reporting on issues that would raise more question.

    2. Journalism is a sacrifice of sticking to the truth and highlighting to the public eye events normally hidden. What article or articles are these brave journalist congratulated on.

So my question What outstanding piece of literature or report or event did they cover? On the contrary it looks like they are congratulated on not exposing some high profile...thus saving face....

That if the case! then it is not Journalism! Journalism is a combination of Truth, Literacy and personal ethics that assist the reader understand the situation in all details and makes the judgement or be informed of the action taken.

  7. the question is a bit vague..... its like asking would flies ever get tired of hovering over festing food. Well look at the proportions / China is loosing representive grounds with the rest of the world.... and they would very cunningly want to merge into thailand or even own it in their way of infiltration...but this is for the politicians... For those who are wondering what would be the new profitable wave among tourism....there is non more the contrary.

    - Get used to groups following a flag

    - over crowded food malls...where they just shop with their eyes.

    - Eating out is paid in China....so all they do is turn up in one of their own King Long buses...follow the flag and empty the dishes

    - Quality tourism.... way out get used to Chinese.... chicken farm mentality... the singaporeans call it Kiasu

In my opinion...they will never get tired... perhaps the Thais might get annoyed and tired of this swam if allowed uncontrolled.

  8. No more than normal,it's just becoming more visible due to an increased use of social media and the like.

Welcome to the land of stares and stupidity rampant and where reason is punished and treason upheld......Land of smiles does not exist.... its just a TT plug in... works for an airline....but not for a nation. Sorry... Travel to Cambodia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, India, Sri Lanka....there are smiles there....and genuine!

  9. No more than normal,it's just becoming more visible due to an increased use of social media and the like.

violent behaviour is always the response of most Thai people, they cannot have an arguement and walk away, They suffer with a chip on the shoulder and the lost face syndrome. In recent years this arrogance has escalated and the technological and public behaviour is more evident. They still beat up their women, still kill for no reason other than a whim of their understanding. There is also no proper justice system that is implemented to counteract this behaviour.... watching the news...its just the arrest, then the picture for the newspapers and a pat on the shoulder to not do it again and set free... this is not justice... so taking all these into consideration. it will escalate to a point where its no longer regulated by the courts but by the public. Then it would be too late to implement all the talk.

  10. I hope these punks rot in prison and then hell.

What hope...its known that these people will be taken in, photographed with the false wais and then adviced to apologies publicly and go to the temple and offer flowers and set free....

    - Military beating

    - Hua Hin attack

    - Driving at high speed and killing people

The problem is justice is not justice here....its Karma crap!

These guys along with others will roam the street with knives almost half their body length and no one bothers to comment, or race on the roads at break neck speeds, because police are not at their posts or on patrol after 8.00. There are more police hanging around a traffic light waiting to stop a few in public eye. Than planning to maintain law and order in the country....thats a fACT..... Thailand does not need CCTV...they loose face, Let the journalist do their jobs and this country will see its own mirror.

  11. Jealous....nah.... not even envious as some women might draw conclusions to....

They might fit a picture postcard.... but they do not have the maturity to think differently, neither the guts to stand up for wrong or prevent evil or fight corruption. They imitate but do not have in themselves the potential to initiate anything to a substantial self discovery.... so I am not jealous.... I feel sorry for them, because they simply put it on...there is nothing really authentic! Thats my opinion to the question. Thank you for poising it to reflection.

  12. This behavior...going after the person/persons who are responsible for leaking information the government deems damaging...is not at all unusual...this present US government...while claiming to be the most transparent in US history...quietly goes after whistle-blowers...destroying their lives...getting them fired and making it almost impossible to get another job...sending the IRS to find a tax problem...and doing their best to harass and threaten jail time...

Governments do not like their dirty undies being exposed to the public...

Sure.... good point...but in comparison to Thailand its a poor comparison of justice or exposing of political underware. The fact still remains the law is prevelant in those countries and the whole world get to see. Its not some private revenge or face saving exercise of witholding information. Thailand belongs to those countries that do not condone mal practices..but finds some excuse if not blame someone else for its own failing. This is the fact. FACE IT

  13. Leaking the video footage did not damage the country it was six Thai men who savagely beat and kicked the foreign tourists in the head.

Thai young men have a history of gang beatings of defenseless persons. Thailand needs tougher punishment for crimes of violence.

Sure the footage did not damage Thailand.....that was perfect reporting worldwide.....not some representation of some one explaining a cock and bull story. Look at the the idiots ....the ones who brought shame on the country, look at the justice that is pronounced on them, look at the way this is all would have been handled if the video was in the hands of censorship....ill representation and corruptness will only prevail as long as people do not take responsibillity for actions and pronounce judgement. The way the wind is blowing...the authorities are probably looking to prosecute and punish the person who put the video or took the video and made it known... rather than taking action against the four foul idiots who would have killed if they were provoked further.....yes...kill...and hide.. wipe the smile off your face and work with the law. Ask any child and they will tell you what is wrong. Shameful on those who think they can hide such savage, primitive behaviour.

  14. 10 years in jail and a 500,000bht fine for leaking the video.

Bail and a 500bht fine for kicking granny and grandpa unconscious.

    Amazing Thailand!

yeah leaking footage...oh so there is more like this that is on municipal cameras, but are not made public so that the guilty ones can go scot free.... this seems to be implied here. Well... The publice, Thai and International need to be made aware of this.... putting on a show for the news with smiles and jokes and opinions is not news...its just an intepretation of what is really happening. This shows authorities as well as the public where justice should take place...... OH LOST FACE.... perhaps now this explains why some cameras do not work in Bangkok....Face saving or evidence stacking authorities who are afraid of being pulled up or getting exposed. Common get your act together. Take responsibility and do your job. Let justice take place.... That is the reasonable explaination.

  15. Case closed. Next.

Boy o boy, put a scarf around his neck and he would look like mother Theresa.... Common Police force and Thailand...is this how you hand justice? Wai and some flowers at the temple? Pay for it! Should be put in prison with his buddies to learn a lesson...not just go back on the street again. What are you doing pimping thugs or raising them? Justice is punishment to those who break the law. The world does not need a picture with hands in prayer....there are enough such idiots praying and killing. Imagine if a person from Burma or Lao or even a foreigner got in a brawl after a few drinks... the police would have thrashed the day lights of him. Shame on you justice system..... its injustice. Well, the world knows where it stands with Thailand.....not safe and unpredictable nor dependable, everthing is situational and misrepresented.

    -From Boat scams,

    -lady boy attacks

    -falling from balconies

    -International licenses

-labyrinth of visa loops, each subject to change...

its really a shame how this case have been handled...those who were the butt of the attack know best, and those who did nothing know too....but ....no conscience....

  16. Well, if the police feel Jimmy's bare chest is obscene enough to warrant a fine, why have they 1) not covered him up to avoid offending onlookers and 2) allowed an "obscene" photo to be taken, published and distributed via the internet.

Shouldn't the RTP themselves now be charged with promoting obscenity and distribution of lewd material under the Computer Crimes Act.

The law should work both ways.

    clap2.gif Spot On !

As said before...the police are a bunch of uneducated dudes, who will find any reason to fine foreigners..... the point of posting obsene pictures in their highly ethical code shows their understanding of obscene in the first place.... they love getting recognised for things they are just supposed to do.... probably earned himself a brownie point in his book of good deeds. Double stands... blind to their own kind...Mapan rei...Khrap....

  17. Welcome to thailand land of gutless thugs.

yeah dogs and smiles .... a land where there is no justice.... the average person has no conscience.... stand and watch while an elderly women gets beaten up...

The police force is a farce and a big joke.... finger point picture objects for the newspaper..... perhaps have a studio in the back rooms to impress...

Idiots of the first kind. Police you do not have to hunt..... ask the women who watched ask the people who were there.... cowards the lot.... I did not see Ka.... only Buddha knows.....

Well.... its time Tourist turn away from Thailand. There are lands with better public behaviour and protection for all its visitors. Need some tips... Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Sri Lanka even India is far better in its hospitality and respect to visitors.... Time to let this land dwindle down to their own games and rules....

Tourism I wish you well... smiles are not enough....forget it its a shame....Go back to school... shame on you.
