Non-O extension (marriage) Ubon
BlueScouse posted a topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I wll be applying soon for said extension. Previously I had retirement extensions but have been out of Thailand for a couple of years. I have Ubon Joe's list of requirements, but will call into the office to check, and ask what photos are required. I live a few minutes drive from the Ubon town office. Is it better to go there or to the main office in Sirindorn when applying for the extension? -
Are they easier to use than a normal stick welder. I have the idea of letting the wife have a go.

I am like the original poster. Want a welder to do simple jobs. Anybody used a fluxcore welder? Fancy just having a little bit of wire out instead of a 10 inch rod waving around. Another question. Why do the welding machines have a voltage and amp knob? All the ones I have seen at work ie small Unitor, have just a kknob for adjusting amps.

Hopefully Real Madrid will win.

Expired Thai Passport
BlueScouse replied to bluejets's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I replied to a similar query on a different thread a few weeks ago. Son, daughter and daughters boyfriend all entered on expired Thai passports. All taken away to a waiting area. Son and dughter both had valid Thai ID cards and were allowed in. The boyfriend left Thailand when he was 12 and did not have an ID card. Immigration had to call his father and have a copy of the tabienbahn sent to Immibration at the airport. Then he was allowed in. Delay of about 40 mins. So if your wifes ID card has expired, be prepared for difficulties. -
My niece works for the Immigration dept in Liverpool. She is working from home, 2 days a week in the office in Bootle. Was told she and the others had to now go to the Liverpool office, far easier to get to, 5 days a week. Complaints to the union followed and now still only does 2 days a week in the office. In Bootle. She was doing the Hong Kong visa applications, now changed to European visas. She has a quota to do. She says she can finish her daily quota by 11am. I suggested she should do more to help clear the big backlog of cases. No, she replied, if they did more than their quota then it would be expected of them all the time.

Thai National - Have to use ThaiPass?
BlueScouse replied to FARANG KIWI's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
So, just finished the one day quarantine in Bangkok today. Arrived 22nd. Son, daughter and daughter's boyfriend. All Thai dual citizens with expired Thai passports. Checked in at Manchester airport OK. Clerk checked Thai pass and Thai passport numbers.Never bothered with the passports being expired. Doubt he checked the expiry date. Arrived at BKK . I cleared immigration very quickly. Thais not so. Took about 45 minutes for them to clear immigration. Officer saw the expired passports, the 3 of them taken to one side. Had to show other proof of Thai nationality. My 2 were OK, as they have their Thai ID cards with them. The boyfriend left Thailand when he was 12 and never had a Thai ID card. Immigration phoned his father. Father had to take photo of the Tabianbahn and e-mail it up to Immigration. Then they were let out. Today, me and sone flew to Ubon. At security in Don Muang, where they check bording cards and ID, son was pulled up as he used expired passport. After he showed his Thai ID he was let through. -
Burnley have sacked Sean Dyche 8 games before the end of the season. Wonder who will replace him? Bit for for Big Sam to come in. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/apr/15/burnley-sack-sean-dyche-in-midst-of-premier-league-relegation-battle

Immigration at Manchester Airport
BlueScouse replied to Negita43's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
If all the e gates are working shouldn't take too long to clear immigration. The main problem is baggage. A friend went through a week ago and baggage took one hour to arrive. Also the train station is a fair walk from the terminals, and baggage trolleys cost a pound or two euros. And you don't get the money back. -
Thai National - Have to use ThaiPass?
BlueScouse replied to FARANG KIWI's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Just called my daughter who works in a Thai restaurant in Southern England. A couple of workers there went back to Thailand a couple of weeks ago with expired passports. Immigration just reminded them to get new passports and they were let in. -

They will use UK passports for the planes. Just the Thai passports to enter Thailand so as not to have to get Covid insurance or pay for hospital if detained due to positive result of test. -
