Registration renewal refused
You're wrong, they can be bought separately. I also go to the 'yellow cog' shop to get my compulsory insurance and always refuse their offer to do the road tax for me for the simple reason that I find it easier to get it at the DLT drive-thru window.

Rice price hikes worry restaurant owners, some pass costs to diners
So the price has gone up 2 baht a kilo (actually, on the figures given, its gone up 2.33). What's the average serving size of a plate of rice? Somewhere between 100-200g? She could add 1 baht to the price of each dish and make an extra profit from it. What a non-story.

Thai Post wrong delivery - they don't cooperate to find my parcel
A few years back I had a registered parcel go missing, the tracker said it had been delivered. I went down to the post office where they had the sorting office and showed them the tracking number. Asked me to wait and after a few minutes they handed me a phone and said to speak to our local delivery woman. Her English was about as good as my Thai but the gist of the matter was that she had left my parcel at the village pharmacy and I should go and pick it up from there. I drove back to the village and across the road from the building that serves as a post office (never seen it actually open) was a pharmacy. Went into the pharmacy and asked them for my parcel, blank looks all round so I called my wife and got her to explain why I was there. Off they went into the back of the shop came back after a few minutes and said no parcel. I'm insisting there must be, they keep saying no and I can see that the women is getting agitated so I leave. I call the post lady and she insists it's at the pharmacy and says its the one across from the police station, except there is no pharmacy across from the main police station. I think about it for a while and then the penny drops, there is a police box at the start of the village and there is a small soi across from it. I drive there and sure enough, there's a pharmacy in that street and they have my parcel. Turns out that the man in the pharmacy is the husband of the post lady. Doesn't really explain why they didn't deliver it to the house but I was just happy to get the parcel. Were they going to wait until I got sick to give it to me? I also went back to the other pharmacy and showed them the parcel, tried to explain the mix-up but by that point I think the owner was convinced that I was a random nutter. Moral of the (longish) story? The Thai post moves in mysterious ways.

Children's ID cards when doing an annual renewal
Had something similar happen to me a few years ago except in my case they initially were insisting that we bring the children to the office. The "children" at that time were both over 21 years of age and both were working. After some discussion they decided that they would settle for copies of their identification cards plus a photo of my wife and myself standing next to one of them. I had to do a 160km round trip to get the photo done and then they tried to refuse me on the grounds that I had supplied the same two photos. I showed them that our hands were in different positions in the photos at which point they gave in and processed my application. Interesting that you say that once they become adults they don't have to be declared.

Wise - Transfer Wise & US cards
Would depend on the time of day, at 11pm on July 6th, Wise showed a rate of 35.23. They currently charge $16.62 for a $3,000 transaction but they do also give out fee refunds (if you are a UK customer) and on the 5th of July I received a fee rebate of 40% of the fees I had paid the previous month. "What are fee refunds? Currently, we’re offering fee refunds to a trial group of customers in the United Kingdom."
