If I did "check it out", as you seem to be suggesting, and, as usual, in your lowbrow idiomatic way, do you really believe there might be anything of redeeming value in the experience?
Also, must you continually pack all your utterances full of slang?
Have you never thought to put a bit of effort into your writing in order to feel more pride in the writing of your comments?
I can understand that today is a rainy one, which might cause some to feel more relaxed.
But do you also need to relax the quality of your writing on this Friday?
When you write, try to write while holding your shoulders back, figuratively speaking.
Write with clarity.
And use a few well-chosen words, too.
But please direct your well-chosen words not at me.
Thank you.
feeling a bit brittle today I see..
PS.. my shoulders are back

Hi Gamma.
Have you been taking some time to be distant?
Have you been taken some time to be still?
Have you been taken some time to be by yourself since your therapist told you that you are ill.
Have you been making some progress lately?
Have you learned some new coping skills?
So we haven't needed you much , man.
I think you need to step back and chill.
Welcome Back..

I might hate it but 2 or 3 months work might help me enjoy my relaxing life in Thailand more.
Hi , I did exactly that this year , went back to London for 3 months (March to June) and planning on doing so again next year (April to September) , I got work with these people doing catering , very flexible , can work whenever you feel like.
https://www.angelhr.org/catering-and-hospitality-jobs
I think they do other types of jobs apart from catering and cover a larger part of the Uk , than just London.
You can pre-register with them online in advance and can choose to submit a cv or just provide recent selected jobs background if you don't have a cv.
Hope this helps..

Last night around 7pm , I agreed with a tuk tuk driver a price of 200 Baht to take me from the bus station in Savannakhet to the casino at Savan Resort and back.
When the trip was done , I paid the driver mistakenly 2,000 Baht (it was unlit spot and I could not differentiate the bank notes).
When I got back to the hotel I noticed my error and went immediately back to the tuk tuk stand.
Of course the f~Cker was no longer there and his colleagues miraculously , momentarily forgot how to speak English , they seemed quite proficient earlier when trying to acquire a fare from me.
My fault completely , but all this b~llsh~T about honest taxi drivers , I never seem to come across one..
On the bright side I did come out on top at the casino , but the tuk tuk incident still rankles none the less..

Things you may be entitled to if you are a pensioner in the Uk
1) If you were born on or before 2nd Sept. 1929 (ie 96 yrs old) and are a British national you could be eligible to a free passport.
2) If you are over State Pension age and registered blind you may get a 50% discount on your TV license.
Is there no limit to their generosity????

Just returned from a Weekend in Chiang Mai , enjoyed very much , but didn't venture in to the the centre of the city , as I was there for a running event at Doi Suthep , so stayed close to the start/finish at Chiang Mai Zoo , great value hotel at 390Baht per night , clean , air-con & wifi and plenty of eateries and local night market.
Will probably return next year..

Looks like most of us State Pensioners here in LOS are going to miss out on an 8% increase in our State Pensions from next April:-
https://www.ft.com/content/b83d60d1-8002-47c4-a4a1-f6a1e58e47f0
And no doubt HMRC will seek to tax a fair few of us on the basis of the full increase in the hope that we don't notice this.
But at least, all being well, we should be spared the biennial Life Certificate nonsense next year!
This link requires a paid subscription to view , the official figure for the rise in Average Weekly Earnings that the triple lock for state pension paid from April 2024 will be based upon will be released by the Office for National Statistics on Tue. 12th Sept. here
www.ons.gov.uk/employmentandlabourmarket/peopleinwork/earningsandworkinghours
The figure for inflation CPI will be released on Wed. 18th Oct.
www.gov.uk/economy/inflationandpriceindices
The higher of these 2 figures will be the one that will be applied to the Current State Pension , providing , of course that they exceed 2.5%.

The photo of the refrigerator with cloths wrapped over the handles is a good idea and brings back memories , we used to use a wooden spoon to open the door on ours , occasionally one of us would forget and get zapped ⚡

I'm SOON Moving to Japan Countryside to Find My GENIUS-GF!

You may find it difficult to stay in Japan long term due to their strict visa regulations.
Have you been to the Japanese countryside lately or ever?
As a tourist/visitor you would be given a 90 Day stamp in your passport without the need for a visa , dependent on the country you are from.
The level of English language comprehension drops off significantly the farther you stray from the main metropolises.
It may be a good idea to come over as a tourist and spend a few months getting to know the lay of the land and exploring how you can fit in.
It is now heading in to the cold season and the temperature will plummet soon , you may be advised to wait until the spring to make an exploratory visit and see Japan during sakura.
Finding accommodation in the Japanese countryside may prove problematic , but there are many real estate agencies online , but their sites are in Japanese language only.
Bank accounts can only be opened if you have a visa , but cash can be withdrawn from any 7-11 ATM (yes 7-11 in Japan have their own bank) but many other Japanese banks do not accept foreign cards.
Japan is a great country to retire to as there is such a high proportion of the population being over the age of 65 , I am assuming that you are of that age range , they are very active and take part in many activities , which if you are of a curious nature , no doubt you will be invited to join , they are as interested in you as you are of them , and you will learn much more Japanese , as they learn some English from you.
