No wonder it's a problem if exhausts are so cheap there. THB 333 each ! Going on a shopping trip now so we can keep more neighbours awake in Chon Buri.
Surely not some dodgy reporting of statistics, that would be a first for Thailand ?- 2

Thai Visa - Can we have some consistency please. On the same page as this article is one from Gen Prayut. Tourists NOT welcome.

If they want more footfall why don't they do something for members? Many besides myself would play more rounds if they cut the cost of carts.
The high cost of them at most courses is out of proportion and makes a round too expensive to go out 2-3 times / week. -

Thailand again is not moving with the times.
With many country's X-rates being higher years ago and lower salaries, having a caddy was not an issue. Today the caddy fee plus caddy tip easily adds THB 700 - 800 to a round, and today golf in Thailand is not cheap. With many courses also making carts compulsory the cost of a round at most courses is over THB 3000. Compare that to the cost of playing in Europe or USA, the result is less rounds. Also clubs often fail to provide golfer satisfaction. If you play at a new course you are on a wing and a prayer, many times I have been given a caddy who neither smiles or provides " camaraderie ". Having to pay for that then spoils the round and does not make you rush back.
Make caddies and carts voluntary, the Koreans and Japanese will use both as they find golf here cheap. Those that want to pull their own bags can do so, and I am sure it would increase the number of rounds played.- 6

The Investigation Committee will re-open the case.
Attorney General will close it as he has no case to answer ( obviously ).
We carry on as before, what other conclusion could there be ? We live in Thailand, money does not talk, it shouts.- 4

Thailand doing what it does best, turning a blind eye. Known gambling den ( to senior police at least ) allowed to exist because of the flow of brown envelopes.
Prayut wants to keep us safe ? Legalise gambling, sell licences to bona fide international groups like hotels, tax them like hell for the privilege, and shut down these back street dens.
Result ? Richer, safer Thailand attracting HISO's away from Singapore and Macau.
Unfortunately the demise of the brown envelopes from the industry guarantees this will never happen.- 13

This gets top billing.
Over 40 people got killed on the roads yesterday, will you read that anywhere ?
Thank goodness we have Prayut and his team keeping us safe.- 5

That explains why the one of the first groups being allowed in are 100,000 from Myanmar.
Thailand needs foreign construction workers right now like a hole in the head. How many more condos do they need to add to the list of 00's of 000's of unsold ones already standing there ?- 9

The only thing they got right here is that medical tourists and film crews are the sort of people with money that the country needs.
The black hole in the statement is where is the volume going to come from. China will still have 14 day isolation on people returning from Thailand, India closed due to rocketing cases and farangs down to a trickle because of user unfriendliness.
TAT doing what they do best, dreaming without a clue of how to make things happen.- 48

Well done Prayut for again having the country's best interests at heart, this is exactly the right course of action.
Strict screening will immediately identify any of the several thousand coming from high risk countries on medical exemption visas, and allow them to be fast tracked instead of standing in line, like the rest of us.
They can then be taken to their destinations, isolated in limos, where they can be whisked to their rooms so that they can send memes to all their family telling them what a fantastic place Thailand is, and encourage the rest of the family to come forhigh revenue, vote winningmedical tourism.- 1

1 hour ago, CLS said:
For Thailand, the government’s special committee said this week that the country will likely miss 2020’s CPTPP negotiation in August because they need more time to study the deal before negotiations can begin.
Everyone was at the same starting line. Vietnam and the other countries got their act together and will now benefit. Our
uselessgovernment once again fails to act and Thais will suffer. Jobs will continues to go in manufacturing, but there is a silver lining. The Baht will at last drop, making it cheaper for the hordes of tourists desperate to get here, and giving TV keyboard warriors one less thing to complain about.- 1

Nice to see that TAT's campaign to go for domestic tourists and not farangs is paying dividends.
They proclaim they want " quality " tourists, they just need to define what sort of quality.

Is this announcement a celebration or an apology /
In 2019 the GDP was THB 15,900 billion, THB 200 is a drop in the bucket.Nothing to shout about, but at least it is in the right direction.

Thank goodness for that, we can move on.
Back to drinking the beer and wine we have been drinking out of coffee cups for the last 3 weeks in restaurants.
I already had invitations from two bars that are re-opening as "bistros". Can't wait to see what they look like and what food they will sell. Crisps, peanuts ?
I bet there will not be a bar left to re-open when the time comes.- 7

It is often the case when someone commits suicide that they lay down in a secluded area and cover themselves with palm fronds.
Awaiting the autopsy with baited breath.- 1

No photo to support this assertion, I wonder why ? The headline should have been " Domestic tourists allowed to return to some beaches ", but it doesn't have the spin.
In any event it will not be a stampede, and with many hotels and restaurants still closed and all bars closed, there is precious little incentive when there are no amenities.Bring back the Chinese !!- 1

A tragedy of an individual driven to a desperate act because of matters beyond her control.
My deepest sympathy to her family. I pray that Samaritans and other help orgs can rise to the challenge and save more from copying this.
How about netizens taking time off from the news and making a contribution ( help, donation, whatever ) to stop the next one doing something ?- 2

The government have really got their fingers on the pulse of the nation. Thank god we finally have definitive news about amulet shops and ballrooms, the sleepless nights i ahve suffered over the past 6 weeks agonising about these.
Glad they ignored mentioning peripheral matters like, restaurants, beaches and bars, who on earth would be interested in these ? No doubt hoards of Chinese wanting to polish up their waltzing and tangoes will be stampeding to the airport as I speak.- 2

What is the use of arresting the mules ? Under the current economic circumstances there will be dozens willing and desperate to take their place. With all the checks currently going on the police could have got their identities, found out their destination and arrested someone worthwhile.

Scumbag.
Where are the police when you need them. They should have been in attendance to ensure social distancing, then there would have been an outside chance of him being caught.- 4

By all means keep a state of emergency, but attach some logic to it. Places selling alcohol are closed, but those selling coffee can open. Restaurants in office blocks open, those on the street closed.
What is the rationale behind this ? Oh, I forgot, we are in Thailand, I withdraw my questions.- 13

The hospital should pursue him for the money. What about seizing the vehicle he was driving ?
Too many people over here chancing their arm by not having insurance. Make insurance mandatory, and provide cover at reasonable cost. Premiums would depend on the hospital you want to go to, high for the fancy internationals, lower for the basic municipal.- 9

38 minutes ago, webfact said:the evidence for and against taking the drug and had agreed that "the potential benefit from treatment outweighed the relative risks."
There is no need for Trump to take any risks. He should immediately switch to the drug " Strychnine ", this used in the right amounts has a 100% success rate.
