#1 I am not 65
#2 I am not a pensioner
#3 The first time I met the guy wss when he smashed me from behind.
#4 I did not go to hospital because of a cut lip. I went because of a broken nose, fractured jaw and to have my ribs checked from the unprovoked attack.
I hope you all have a great chuckle and that I can be around when some maniac decides to let loose on you for no reason.

Why just the Andaman Sea ?
The whole " boating industry " needs regulation.
I was almost killed last year by a speedboat buzzing my diving buoy. Now I only go to very secluded places away from those maniacs.
As with the minibuses, boat drivers generally brain dead.

Did Zuckerberg offer any support to the poor soul who lost his life trying to save these kids ? Glad they have been saved but their exploits cost a life.

97 divers on a boat sounds improbable. I scuba dive a lot and for this many people PLUS all the gear, you are talking a very large vessel. More likely a group of snorkelers judging from the photos.
Questions will be asked, and "valuable lessons will be learned", e.g. a whitewash will happen. LOS tourism is not for changing.
This could be avoided by having an empowered harbourmaster ( I know I am dreaming ) who has a team responsible for ensuring boats are not overloaded and is able to red flag any passenger boats going out on bad weather days. Like the life guards do on the beach.- 6

I wish them luck, they have as much chance of cracking down on illegal gambling as King Canute had, of stopping the tide.
5/1 the first arrests are in Malaysia, 7/1 Thailand. ?

Thailand's problem is not enough islands, the solution is simple. Do what the Chinese do, build some more.
Collect and dump all the rubble dumped around the place to form the base, move the rubbish stockpiled in places like Ko Larn and Samui to raise the level and cover it with some sand. Then charge each boat THB 500 landing fee. What could be easier ?

THB 2000 and a couple of wais to the authorities. Useless, the deterrent needs to be realistic. These guys could easily have killed someone, on an average traffic road it would have. THB 10,000 minimum and licence revoked for a month.

I so wish I was the Premchai family lawyer. Job for life and fees running into the squillions.

Stupiness paid by their own lives. As long as no innocent lives are involved, they deserved it.
Unfortunately there was an innocent involved. The poor pickup driver. Even though he was probably blameless I am sure he will be having flashbacks/sleepless nights pondering what could have been. He is a victim.

For level 5, on-the-job training is requi red.
Subject to vetting the candidate, I would be prepared to offer my services to Thai ladies to check that they are suitably qualified. Training could take some time, but my rates are competitive, and I promise not to be too hard on anyone who takes time to grasp what is required.

Hiso's please note. Now you need the price of killing endangered species.
The parks should be full of wealthy scum like him this weekend, trying their hand.

Why didn't he suggest that everyone who uses these sardine cans lose 10% of their weight so they can cram in more passengers? Problem solved.

Even more depressing since the definition of "road death" is killed at the spot. Add to that the number who then die in hospital later.

Hard to believe but if its true then why cant it happen every day ?
Police should say what they did differently, no way this result was spontaneous or luck.

Bloomberg have an interesting way of compiling their lists.
True many people lose their jobs. If you are female and over 30 you have no hope.
I meet many many ladies who had good office jobs and now sell road side food, work in bars, caddy at golf etc who would beg to differ about their misery index

We have just started a boycott of Johnny Walker here in Jomtien. I have sent Diageo ( the parent company ) notification of this and will be interested to see their comments. They promise a response to complaints within 48 hours.
Anyone want to join in ?

The top institutional shareholders only have a little more than 3% of the outstanding stock.

Premchai is Managing Director and President.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italian-Thai_Development
Of the top 10 shareholders Premchai holds the most shares at about (to nearest whole share)15%, followed by Mrs. Nijaporn Charanachitta @ 7%; Mr. Wichai Wachirapong @ 4%; Thai NVDR Co., Ltd. @ 3%; Mr. Jesad Lertanuntanya @ 3%; and remaining five holding collectively 6%.
http://market.sec.or.th/public/idisc/en/CompanyProfile/Listed/ITD
Thai NVDR Co., Ltd. is basically a stock brokerage holding Thai stock by its customers.
https://www.bloomberg.com/research/stocks/private/snapshot.asp?privcapId=31133736
Expect NVRD's individual holdings in IT to be very fragmented and essentially meaningless in IT shareholder voting.
So in sum, a scenario by which Pramchai is suspended through shareholder action must develop more than 15% "shareholder votes" is possible - combined 14% sh votes by Charanachitta, Wachirapong and Lertanuntanya plus 2% from any two of the remaining top 10 shareholders.
Pranchai might also be suspended by majority vote of the 10-member Board of Directors (that includes Pramchai) http://www.itd.co.th/about-directors.php But such depends on the articles of registration and shareholder agreement.
Thanks for the concise summary, well done.
I will expect it to happen shortly after I see that pig flying past my window....

Now if he was a farang the police would have confiscated his passport(s). I did not read that this had happened.
I hope he does not get an urgent call today to fly to another country today for an "unavoidable" business meeting. In the unlikely event he turns up, we could see a new world record for the number of wai's done in 2 minutes.
-
Beats me why Italian-Thai have not suspended him whilst the case rumbles on. Deafening silence from the shareholders, share price down 25% in the last 6 weeks.
Will he reimburse his fellow board members for their losses, LOL !

Truly despicable, in most other countries he would be suspended. Here its a brown envelope.

Elon Musk apologises to British caver for 'pedo' slur

Best solution I can see is that Vern accepts his apology on condition that Musk confirms he never thought Vern was a pedo ( sic ) makes a substantial donation to the fund for the poor ex-Seal who died during the rescue. Will be peanuts to Musk but Vern's honour stays intact and no one profits.
